June 26, 2011 5 Nights on the Disney Dream!!!!

'Just spent a little time checking out You Tube videos of the "Dream"!!! :cool1: SO very exciting!! Looks like Rachel Quinn is the Cruise Director (we've never sailed with her before-anyone?) Any Castaway Club members know if any staff from the other ships is now on the Dream... we loved our old activities director, Dave, and many others - always nice to see familiar faces on board in addition to all the new ones!!

The last time we sailed, our 'meets-group' all choose a color swatch for our group from the Disney Paint selections at the local Home Depot - we tied it to our back-packs/luggage/pocketbooks, etc. - it was a great way to be able to approach someone from our thread. My apologies if you all have already worked something else out - I haven't caught up reading this entire thread yet.
:welcome:

Our first cruise was with Rachel as cruise director! She's very sweet and nice.

I'm thinking we are using the DIS green ones...am I right or am I mixing it up with another cruise? I'm old ya know.... :goodvibes

This is the lanyard cruise! Although the deadline's past on that, most of us will have red lanyards with Dis tags in them. If you go back about ten pages you can probably see what the lanyards and cards look like.

See? Told ya! :lmao:

I OBVIOUSLY DESPERATELY need this vacation!!!

And I'm on the lanyard team no less!

Has anyone booked any excursions yet? We thought about the Blue Lagoon Dolphin swim, but as of this morning it only had 3 spots left open and there are 4 of us. The Atlantis still had openings.

So what are eververyones plans???

Our plans? Relax, enjoy, rest, and recouperate.
We don't have any excursions planned, but I did stay up until midnight to book Palo for my wife and I. ;)

We are planning on the tour at Atlantis. Then snorkeling at Castaway.

We stayed up until midnight on March 27th (for the 12 Midnight 3/28 window) and I tried to book the Dolphin Swim at Blue Lagoon for 9:30 and it was already booked. So, I reserved the 12:30 dolphin swim. I also looked into the Atlantis Dolphin deep water swim, but that was also booked - ALREADY!

When we first cruised, we did the Atlantis Beach Day. On our second cruise we did the dolphin swim at Blue Lagoon Island. Both were great. We loved the beaches at both and totally enjoyed both excursions.

I don't know if it is worth a try - but in 2009 when we went to Blue Lagoon Island, we did not book through Disney. We got a taxi over to the dock for the Blue Lagoon Island and we purchased our tickets online over the internet before our cruise through Blue Lagoon Island. SO if Disney is booked - you may try your luck directly?Who knows?

Either way, I am sure you will have a great time. We were happy with both excursions. I do hear some negatives about Nassau. When my mom went she said that she did not have an excursion booked and just "walked" around and went for a taxi ride tour and went shopping. She didn't care for Nassau. I don't know for certain, but it seems to me that those that go on an excursion tend to enjoy Nassau better than those who try to take a tour on their own.

Good luck getting the excursion you want!:thumbsup2

We are doing the Atlantis deepwater swim aquaventure combo. It is my neice and sil's first cruise so we are splurging. We are hoping for a cabana on cc as well

Like I said before, we're parasailing and stingray swimming at CC.

IT SNOWED AGAIN :mad::mad::mad:

It melted within a couple of hours, but still:guilty:

We have the Blue Lagoon Dolphin swim booked for 9:30. We don't usually do excursions but the kids are really looking forward to this and are finally old enough to really enjoy it!

So far we've booked Parasailing and Massages on CC and some tour on the Bahamas that seemed good but didn't take the entire day (gotta leave some room for shopping!!:cool1: ) I was joking with my husband that I was going to stay up till midnight to get first shot at some better times and activities - he said I was crazy - can't wait to tell him that not only wasn't I the only one with this idea but some of you actually did it!!

Horseback Riding on the Beach is still on my bucket list - anyone know if this is available anywhere?

According to my ticker… It’s back to "The World” in 80 days!!!

(Well… one of “The World’s” ships, and that might even be better.)

hey everyone my Dfi is having a hard time getting a passport so any extra pixi dust is welcomed

The one I want is the 15-day out to Hawaii and back. Four sea days out, four stops in the islands including opportunities to see the new Aulani resort, the a chance to experience the USS Arizona Memorial and board the USS Missouri (as a history buff and ship nut that’s no little thing either), five sea days back, a stop in Ensenada, and Id be at sea on a DCL ship on my 50th birthday. That would be most excellent, but alas… I can’t have that many days off, I’m not allowed to take vacation during the first two weeks of any month, and my DS will be finishing up his Junior year of HS at the time and there’s no way he could miss fifteen days. Just as well, as I suspect the price tag would cause heart failure anyway. Win some… Loose some.

Hi All,
I haven't been around for a while so I'm sure you may have talked about this already-- if so, forgive me--

This cruise is the first 1/2 of our back-2-back. On this cruise is me, 11 yr. old son, my friend & her 11 yr. old. We want to do the Atlantis excursion (with the water park). Through Disney it is $169 per person & our boys are adult rate as well-- for a total of $676. I remember reading somewhere once to book a room on your own at Comfort Inn Suites, Paradise Island because you get full use of the Atlantis facilities. I just checked & for the 4 of us (our room w/ acess to Atlantis) is $355 including taxes & fees! Quite a savings!

Here is my question-- the hotels check in time is 3PM & checkout time is 11AM. I just booked it for Tues. June 28, the day we will be arriving in port. , but now I am second guessing myself that I should have booked it for the day before we arrive-- not sure how that works with the wristbands-- are they good for the entire day you check in or just from 3:00PM on?

If anybody knows the answer or could point me to the correct dis-discussion board (I'm SURE there must be one) I'd really appreciate it!

Thanks,
Tricia

PS-- I am SOOO excited that the Magic will be in NYC summer 2012 (I am in CT) I have a list of cruises to book in the morning!!!:banana::banana:

Hi Tricia. You have done this correctly. The folks at the hotel are quite use to this. When you arrive, simply check in and out at the same time, pay anything you need to, get your wristbands and head over to Atlantis! We did this in 2009 and had a blast.
