June 25, 2012 - WONDERful 7 night Alaskan cruise

I almost responded too! We collect Vinylmations, so I'm sure we'll get all the special Alaska ones. And I'm also in driving distance to Orlando if you need a backup plan.

Can't believe we leave for Seattle two weeks from today! Yikes! Still have some pre-cruise planning to do (CityPass or no?). Started getting clothes out of the closet for the pre-pack phase - haha! I'm just packing a little for every kind of weather :confused3

I checked DCL's website yesterday and there are still verandah rooms available. Now they just need to offer to upgrade me for the price I want :lmao:

I'm so excited I think my head is going to explode. We've already packed some things because we generally put away all our Winter clothes in the garage. I just have to look through the rest of it because we had a very mild Winter... as in I think it will be colder in Alaska than it was our entire Winter this year. We plan to pack as much as we can this weekend because DD6 and I have a dance recital that will take up most of next weekend (we both tap.)

I'm with you in hoping the verandas are still there and in our price range when we get to port.

I've started packing and assembling some of the things we need. We're driving cross country from NJ to Seattle so that we can do some sight seeing, so I'm packing summer stuff and some camping supplies while at the same time pulling back the fall/winter stuff to make sure I have everything we need! But as much work as it is, I'm super excited!!

OH MY GOODNESS!!! Just over 2 weeks until we leave!! :woohoo: I've only barely begun packing.. I've been traveling more than expected the last few weeks, but I knew this month was just going to fly by... every single day off I've had, I've gone someplace other than just stay home to organize my stuff! Memorial day was a day trip to Florida to see my sick grandmother, the next weekend it was my cousin's wedding in Chattanooga, yesterday was a spur of the moment trip up to Nashville for CMA Fest b/c a friend played a last minute thing (But it was an all day adventure).. It's mostly all good, but it's making me crazy!! I think between now and leaving I've only got 3 days off!!

SO here's my real question.. It's my first Disney cruise, and since we've had this thread here, does this mean there's some intent for us to meet up and have a little social event once on board?! I don't know how these things work.. I know on the other cruise I went on, my brother was already actively involved at Cruise Critic and something was arranged there with RCCL.. Do ya'll do that here?! Just wonderin' so I know what to expect!!

I thought we discussed meeting on the first day or even for some before in Seattle, but I could be confused with my NYE cruise group. That one is much more active than this one (because it's a LOT more people on the Fantasy than the Wonder.)

Does anyone else know if we set a place and time? I'm always up for a quick meet in the Promenade lounge (by the internet cafe - between the lobby and Parrot Cay) at 3 before the muster drill and after a nice large lunch.

Yikes! Two weeks for us too!
SO much to do! :scared1:

I was just wondering about our meet as well, and could not remember our final decision.

Yes, we discussed having a "Meet" on the first day. No, we have not finalized any plans.

On past cruises, we met in the Promenade Lounge before the Muster Drill - usually 3:00 or so. What do you think?

Sounds like a group meet is set! If you are in the FB group, check out the photos so you know who to look for. I always feel weird going up to any stranger that looks like they are looking for someone and saying "Are you from the DIS?" But I'll do it!

Hoping this works!

Since I am not on Facebook, here is a picture of us from last year's cruise:

Would folks mind posting their family pictures here?

I'm afraid I won't recognize anyone, since I'm not on Facebook . . .

Let's see if this works for you: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.2813348652277.158723.1215627483&type=3&l=70d8803b86

It's a link to my photo album from our November cruise on the Magic. You should be able to see the pictures without being on Facebook. If not, I'll try to find one from my Photobucket account.

I was able to get in and I think I figured our your family, Shay, but I have to admit, the food pictures distracted me!!!

Here's a link to a pic of our family on our Med cruise last year: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?...87827842857.2092206.1456286931&type=3&theater

Deb - thanks for the pic! Now we'll be able to find each other at the airport in St. Louis~

I couldn't get into yours, Shel. Sorry.
You will have to find us at the St. Louis terminal and let us know who you are!

Grrr! For some reason, the link to FB isn't working. I'll be on the look-out for your family at the airport!

I've almost finished my door magnets. I've had some issues with my stateroom mickey ears not printing correctly so I guess I'll just use a pair from another cruise. One more thing to check off my list!!

:lmao: If you don't recognize me by sight, you'll just need to find the person taking pictures of all their food and if I'm quick enough, my family's food too! Just in case you weren't sure, I'm the tall one with the shortish (it's grown out a bit since then) dark hair. We went with some friends who may have showed up in some of my pictures too. My DD12 will really stand out because the bottom half of her hair is bright blue. We aren't planning on changing the color much before then.

Anyone know if they have a pirate night on this cruise????

Hi Glenn~

For the May 28th sailing, Pirate night was in Juneau (Friday). However, I noticed the menu for the night was Best of Alaska (or something similar).

Lance & I are suppose to eat in Palo that night. I'll still take our pirate Mickey ears but not sure we'll use them.

Shelly

I had heard the Best of Alaska menu was served on Pirate night. So I guess there is an Alaskan themed pirate night? We're bringing our pirate shirts, just in case.
