Hi everyone! I'm joining this thread really late, but just wanted to pop in. My husband and I, my younger brother, along with two of my best friends (who are also married), will be on this cruise. We are all super excited! I've always wanted to go to Alaska, ever since I was a kid, so this is a dream trip for me. Here's to great weather, smooth sailing, and a wonderful time for all of us!

Oh good!! I'm excited about the chance to see some movies too.. But I think I'm probably not going to sleep, EVER. LOL I knew we'd get Brave, so that's a given, I've heard great things about Chimpanzee, and I swear I'm the only person on the planet who hasn't yet seen the Muppets OR The Help (but I read the book!).. both of which I actually, DO want to see!! lol..


Getting excited!! As things started falling apart at work yesterday, I just kept saying to myself.. "at this time next week, you'll be heading to the port." and then "at this time next week, you'll be on the ship.." and then finally just as it all went downhill.. "this time next week, you'll be sailing away, far, far away...." Just 4 more days of this nonsense before VACATION! The best thing is that my nemesis (cue the Phineas and Ferb song) will be leaving and be gone once I come back! YAY!

I have three 6 year olds. Will they need booster seats to travel in a taxi? Does anyone know the Washington State rules?

I have a 6 year old and never even thought of this. I looked it up and found this:

Exceptions
For-hire vehicles, such as taxi cabs and public transportation vehicles, are exempt from Washington State's child restraint law. Additionally, the law does not apply to school buses, shuttles servicing airport terminals from parking lots and convention and hotel facilities and certain companies that transport sixteen or fewer passengers.

Well, in just four short hours, we'll be leaving for our cross country trip to Seattle! I can't wait to get on the road (although I wish I'd gotten more done before now - I'm exhausted!).

Thanks! The only reason I thought of it is my mother! She is the one that mentioned it to me. I wasn't looking forward to taking 3 booster seats on the plane! The only transportation we will be taking will be a taxi/shuttle so I'm not going to worry about it!

Hitting the road at 12:30pm for the St. Louis airport! (on the same flight as Deb and her family) We're all packed - just have to throw a few last minute items in the bags. We'll be in Seattle by 6:00pm tonight!!

I will not be joining you all except in spirit. I will see the Wonder that day though. I will also be headed to sea, except I sail on a ship painted grey. Keep an eye on the sea as you board and you may see the ship I sail upon.


For those wondering, I am in the Navy and my ship, a carrier gets underway on Monday. I will be taking pics of the Wonder as I sail past if I can. I hope to see pics of my ship in your future TR's.

Let's see... We're 782 miles from Seattle right now.. and should be there in about an hour and 42 minutes.. oh.. did I mention, we're at 36,005 feet in the air? Pixie dust on the plane and I "won" free WiFi! YAY!!

I absolutely could NOT sleep last night.. doesn't really help me today, but I figure if I'm completely exhausted, I'll sleep as long as I need and try to rest that way. Who knows, right?! lol. I'm just stoked to be going! Plus, the weather at home is supposed to be ridiculously hot (100* on Thursday, IN THE SHADE) -- so i'm REALLY not missing out on anything! lol.

I looked but you must have already gone by. We were still waiting in the port at 10:45. Can't wait to see your pictures!

We had a great time on the cruise. It was nice to meet everyone. I hope everyone has a safe trip home. We are doing one more day in Seattle before taking off. I'm not sure we could have made the trip home today without some major meltdowns. It was very hard getting the little one off the ship today.
