June 25, 2005 Mexican Riviera..anyone going with us?

 Well I am home from my trip to AZ and the final payment is done so we can really start planning our cruise. lisa a couple got married on our cruise to Alaska last June. The got married at one of the ports during the sailing. Grand kids are really getting exciteing now.
Are we planning a get together with dis group before sailing. We are planning to get on the ship earily since we are driving down husband will drop us off and pick us up after cruise.
Disney has one of the best sail away parties I have ever been on. Well need to unpack and wash clothes from AZ trip will post soon again.

My daughter insists that she is going to be first in line to board! Third Disney Cruise for her and she is more excited about this one then the first :cheer2: We are getting married in Long Beach after the cruise is over because my sister is a minister (Hospital Chaplain at Cedars Seinai, I am sure I spelled that wrong) and we have friends coming down from San Jose that won't be going on the cruise! Thought about doing it on board but really wanted my sister to officiate and couldn't afford to take another person! We are driving down the night before but haven't decided where to stay yet. We may stay at the hotel we are staying at in Long Beach because they said we could park our truck there since we were coming back afterwards but haven't really made a decision yet. My mother and step-father are staying on the Queen Mary the night before! The teenagers have chosen their excursions, we will book a couple for the adults then I am going to fax them in...just to be sure we are on the list anyway......

Hi everyone, my family is also going on the june 25 cruise. Our group consists of dh, ds-15, dd-14, dd-24, dd-28, myself{Robin}, my dm,df,and our friends and neighbors from across the street.{3ds,and df and her dh}.Quite a large group for us to get together. we cruised last june on the dcl 7day eastern and fell in love with cruising and just knew that we couldn't miss going on this west coast cruise, especially since we could just drive to the port instead of having to by airline tickets. That's one of the reasons that my parents decided to come along {my mom is afraid of flying}.Now we're just counting down the days. I'm sure it will be as magical as we remember it being. :wizard:

Hi Robin. Welcome to our little thread. Sounds like you are bringing the party with you. It is just my little family of four, myself, dh, dd 16 and ds turning 12. You say you will be able to drive to the port, whereabouts are you from?

If everyone who has posted on this thread so far actually goes on the cruise we will have around 70 DISers, family members and friends onboard! We should definately plan some sort of meet on the first day. We however, will not be able to get to the port early. Dh won't be home from work until nearly 1pm. We will be leaving as soon as he gets home but it is a good hour/hour and a half to the port from here. Our earliest eta is 2-2:30pm.

Well, now that the final payment has been made I can start my cruise shopping and book excursions. Trouble is, there are so many things that interest us, we can't decide what to do! I guess we could have worse problems, huh.

Take care all,
Cheryl

Good Morning
As far as where we want to meet the first day lets look and see where other groups are meeting before us. Well it is only 15 days till the magic will be starting her cruise to LA. Then we will be getting more information as what they have in store for us. And after the May 28 cruise we will get even more information about the first mexican cruise.
Are we thinking of wearing the green heads I haven't had a chance to go to Home depot as yet. I also want to get pillowcases so everyone can sign them. Time is flying by fast now our cruise will be here before we know it.
Well I have a all day gir scout event so I better start getting ready.

Hi Audrey..

Our family will be on the Magic in two weeks heading out here to CA. We'll try and pump the cm's for any information on the west coast cruises. If we get any scoops (info..not the ice cream) I'll post em on this thread. Have a great weekend.
Jim

Hi cheryl, we live in Clovis Ca. it's about 4 hours north of LA. some of our group will be coming down a few days early and going to dl. My immediate family will be driving down friday and spending the night in a hotel, then off to the port in the morning to meet up with the rest of the group. Your right the time is flying, and I feel so much less prepared then I did for last Junes dc. I can't wait to start reading about the repo cruise and the mexico cruises as they start coming back. I hope everyone gets on their trip reports quickly.Robin :goodvibes

Hi all,

Audrey, would that be the Brownie Olympics you are going to? I'd heard is was this weekend, sounds like a lot of fun. Laura helped out with that one year with her Cadette troop. She has missed out on a lot of these opportunities to help out since she decided to register as a Juliette this year, but she just doesn't have the time to attend troop meetings and all. She will be going neon bowling next month with Senior GS and the Boy Scouts, and we are going on a Carnival cruise to Baja in July with her old troop.

I picked up a handfull of the green mickey heads while I was at Home Depot yesterday, but now what do I do with them? I've read that some have made luggage tags or pins out of them but I'm not sure how.

Robin, in a strange way not knowing what to expect in the way of shows and all that make me feel everyone is in the same boat (pun intended). I am new to DCL so, it's all new to me! Can't wait for more info., so thanks in advance, Jim.

Has anyone booked shore excursions yet? We really can't decide anything except that DH Rod wants to scuba dive at least once, most likely in Cabo. So I've got to find something for the kids and I which can be quite a challange as they have very different ideas of fun.

Robin - my daughter will be living in Clovis, starting in August, when she starts her freshman year at Fresno State majoring in Agriculture. I faxed our excursion reservations today. We have a problem with one child being too heavy to go on the flying through the tree tops so we have had to choose different excursions all the way round...going to be an interesting trip but I am looking forward to getting away :sunny:

We'll be joining you all on the June 25th cruise, and we can't wait. It will be myself, DH, DS (10), and DD (6). We're also from the San Joaquin Valley, Lemoore to be exact. While it seems like we decided to go a long time ago, it's amazing how soon the trip will be here. I spent some time yesterday making lists since my a notorious over-planner. I'm determined to be prepared!

llachance, Wow that's terrific about your daughter going to Fresno state. I'm sure you already know what a great ag dept they have there. Have you guys come to check out the campus already? My two older daughters both graduated from there, one with a biology degree and the other one with a criminology degree. Hope she likes it in the Clovis/Fresno area it's a nice place to live. As for the excursions we have done a little looking but haven't decided on anything yet [ I know time is flying by and we need to decide]. Luckily even though we are traveling with a large group we're not trying to coordinate everyone into doing the same thing. We'll all do what we want to at the ports and then compare our experiences at dinner that night. rebcam welcome, it looks like we californians finally are the ones that get to drive to the port instead of flying to florida. yeah! :rotfl:

We have made several trips to Fresno. We will be there this weekend for placement tests and to start moving stuff into her condo. Seems she can't leave it alone until this fall, when she will be really living there.

:rotfl:

Counting the days. With graduation coming up this next couple of months will probably go quickly.

Morning all,

Just wanted to pass on for anyone who hasn't heard that DCL has upgraded their web site. You can now book shore excursions, spa and Palo resies and register your kids for the club and Flounders in advance on line! Went on last night and booked Palo brunch and dinner, registered Tom for the lab, shopped for excursions and booked a scuba dive for dh. All this in less than 20 minutes from the comfort of my own home, gotta love it! Now we just need to decide on the rest of our shore excursions, and wait for June 25th to come.

I was just getting ready to post about the updates on our thread you beat me to it. This is going to be a big help you won't have to run around the first day on the ship and you said you were not going to be able to board earily so you won't have to worry about that now most cruise lines have let you do your boarding forms on line and am so glad disney is going to let us also. I am planning to do everything later today also. It looks like it is going to rain here this morning. What day are you going to have brunch? I don't think that stephanie wants to do that so I will just sign up myself. Well everyone have a great day 51 days till we sail.

Well I got as far as signing up the kids and signed up for high tea the first day. I don't know what day to sign up for Branch I don't know what day the disney charater breakfast will be I think I will sign up for the last sea day for brunch and hope for the best. Also with the kids pre registered do we check in outside again or on the ship. I am going to post of May 28 thread and they can report back the answers

Hey Aurey, I opted for brunch at 10:30 on the first sea day and if it clashes with the charater breakfast we can always skip that, we've done several of them at DL anyway. I booked a late dinner (8:30) the following day. I think it will work out. If it turns out to be formal nite or something special like AP we can always double-dip and just have an appetizer or soup at the early seating.
I'm not much of a spa person, but I'm looking at some of the less expensive packages as a way to try it out. I don't know, maybe I'll give the rainforest room a shot since I've heard rave reviews here of the dis.
Excursions are another matter all together. Just getting Tom and Laura on the same page will be chalenge enough, :confused3 let alone finding something for all four of us.

Cheryl

Have Brunch on the first sea day at 11:00 (6 of us) and dinner on the last night hoping by then that everything will have happened and it will be a great time to relax! My mother has a pedicure scheduled and I will probably do that as well..... :goodvibes

Just signed up for Brunch for the last sea day at ll:30am that will give me something to look forward to the last day of the cruise. I am sure that the week is going to fly by. I wish I could start planning of cruise to Panama Canal cruise but I have to wait another few months. 8 days till our ship starts moving towards LA that is exciteing.

I am not going to take any of the ships tours I was reading on the other threads that in P.V. you can go to the kaystal hotel day beach which is not far from the ship maybe we can get a group together and take cabs. It is going to be very hot so going to the beach with kids is the think to do. I think the EL CID is in Mazatlan and they give day passes to hotel also. I am going to do some more investigation and let you know what I find out who ever may be interested.

I have gone to cruise critic board and looked under Mexican Rivera and there is a lot of great information there I found the hotels that you can go to on a day pass without charge and a lot more.
