June 23rd 2012 - Commandeering the Disney Fantasy - Pirates back in the Caribbean

We would possably be interesed in Remy. does anyone know what the added per person cost is. it would be a memerable first for us. we would just need to know what night and what time does DCl schedule these... Mike and Eileen

I thought I had signed up to be on the roster for this cruise, but didn't see our name. LOL. There are 4 of us in the group, Myself (Patty) Misti, Dominique (11) and Faith (5) Dominique will be turning 12 on the ship and Faith will have just turned 5 earlier. We are all seasoned Disney cruisers, Faith's 1st cruise was the WBTA in 2007. Dominique has been on several of them. LOL... The girls haven't been on a cruise since Oct of 2010 and Misti and myself since the NYE 2010. We are coming in from Alaska and are so ready for some warm weather. Hopefully, it will be warm sailing!!! Looking forward to meeting up with some of ya scalawags!!!

I'd be interested, but its so hard to pick a preferred day without knowing what the rotation will be like. I wouldn't want to miss Animator's Palate. And I can't miss Pirate Night, which I believe is the 5th night on typical Westerns. Can anyone confirm?

Geez, I guess I'm not very flexible huh? That's why I prefer longer cruises, more choices lol.

I need help figuring out why the first night would not be good for the Remy. The show the first night is the "This is what we are going to do" show. That is one I really do not enjoy. We would not miss any good shows. They normally do not have special dinner things the first night so we will not miss special dinners. The only thing we do not know if the dinner rotation and you do not get that until you get on the ship.

Do you think the first night would be good for Remy?

You're right as far as show wise there usually isn't much for the first night planned, but we really like the first night in the main dining rooms.
Plus I wouldn't want to miss Animator's Palate and now I'm worrying what to do if anyone needs to back out at the last minute with the 8 person requirement...

I know Remy was really hard to get the first month or so the Dream was sailing, but it looked alot easier to get when we sailed in June '11. So I am wondering if we are better off trying to get a few tables or one big table together on the day we board That was what we did with the Palo Tea back in 2008 and that worked fine...or we could see if that private room was available then. We would know when AP and Pirate Night fell and could avoid those nights ?? Just a thought. I still really like the idea of doing Remy with a group just not sure how

I think the surcharge is $70 per person, plus extra for wine. The meal is several courses and comparable to Victoria and Albert's at the Grand Floridian at WDW. So while it seems really pricey for a cruise meal on land it would cost quite a bit more.
We really enjoyed it when we went last summer on the Dream

OMG - I can't wait to see the girls!! I can't wait to see all of you !! Gosh Faith was so little - now she's a little girl & Dominique is a pre-teen! Hugs !!

Hey there!

Looks like we won't be cruising with you all after all. There is a very real possibility that we might be moving to Denver (Keep your fingers crossed, because as much as we wanted to go on this cruise, we REALLY want to move to Denver) and the timeline right now looks like it might be right around mid-June.

We are all super bummed about it, but things happen. Since the rest of our summer is already filled with other activities, we managed to move our trip to August of 2012 for the exact same room, which is awesome.

Now, as I was organizing the FE List, I will need someone to take over the file. I am sure there has to be a way that I can pass it off to whoever. Just let me know WHO it should go to. (and if you know HOW to do it, even better!)

I hope you all have a blast and can't wait to hear all about your trip!

We collected everyone's full name, cabin, and I think maybe reservation number. Then went straight to the Palo manager when we boarded and begged that he arrange enough tables for all of us. A few days later he called with the go ahead.

Yeah Monica - that was for the Palo luncheon (with said speedo parade!!) but we also did a larger one in the regular dining room - we needed the same info but I don't remember if we went to the dining captain or ??? Thank the Lord you're memory isn't as unreliable as mine!!!
