June 23rd 2012 - Commandeering the Disney Fantasy - Pirates back in the Caribbean

Cool:thumbsup2 You are welcome to join us :cool1:

Impressed with your score on that 100 food survey on facebook:thumbsup2
I think they are trying to keep the Remy menu mostly familiar to appeal to more people...but it will still be a great experience:woohoo:

I think that score comes from a combination of living in CA near SF and Napa where they try to outdo each other food wise, having a mother from Oklahoma who lived through the depression so learned to eat/cook from things others would throw out, and my love for travel and soaking up the local culture. Not to mention crusing, where you can easily order something else if you don't like it.

Too bad Remy doesn't have a private room like Palo does. We could easily fill it. Which reminds me, is there any interest in a group dinner at Palo? We had a great time when I set it up for the PC cruise.

I have noticed that Remy does have the Chef's Table Private Room that looks like it holds 8 to 10 people. Does anyone know if it has an additional cost?

There is also the Wine Room Seating that does not look private but there is a larger table there.

Weve never tried dinner in Palos we would possably be interested.. The only question would be is it is already filled with other reservations... it was 13 below saturday night and 3 below sunday night tonights its 31 go figure...

I just talked to my TA about Remy. There is a private room that we could reserve. It is a set menu and the minimum is 8 people and the maximum is 8 people. Pretty much we need 8 confirmed guests and we need to put in a reservation as soon as possible. Disney will not confirm the reservation until about 30 days before the cruise.

I am game if there are 7 other guests that want to splurge and do dinner at Remy. To book we would need to submit the names of all 8 people and know what night we want to book.

Well my DH (Darren) and I are interested:thumbsup2
I'm sure there are others (especially where one member of a couple wants to try it and the other one doesn't).
I'd rather early in the cruise if possible as far as night to book.

Good work. I didn't realize they had a private room. Never saw one in all the pictures of the Dream. Sounds like the same process as reserving the Palo private room. You'd need names and cruise reservation #s.

I'd be interested, but its so hard to pick a preferred day without knowing what the rotation will be like. I wouldn't want to miss Animator's Palate. And I can't miss Pirate Night, which I believe is the 5th night on typical Westerns. Can anyone confirm?

Geez, I guess I'm not very flexible huh? That's why I prefer longer cruises, more choices lol.

Merry Christmas!

Just did an update of our roster. If anyone isn't listed or has corrections please let me know. Also if you know of someone that has dropped from this cruise please let me know.

You can add our names- Tanya, Karen, Phil, Natalee (DD- age 9) and TJ (DS- age 6)
Thank you !

Good morning fellow cruisers. Another week has gone by.
We now have only

weeks to go to the Fantasy. :cool1::cool1::cool1:

7 mile beach is not within walking distance. You can either take a DCL excusion (there is a morning one and an afternoon one) or take a taxi over. We took the morning DCL excusion for convience in 2008 and 2010. DCL takes care of the tender time, transportation, drink and chairs/umbrellas therefore worth the extra bucks to us. There are several threads you search for that discusses cruisers who do 7 mile on their own.
The weather in 2010 was kinda grey that day with showers hitting after we were back on the Magic. We felt bad for the afternoon excusion because they must have gotten wet.

Here is a pic of the rain and a nicer day back in 2008

I would like to be added! I found the link and requested to be added. My name is Tanya Beavers.
Thanks so much!

Tanya,
I'm trying to add you in and keep getting an error...but we're working on it...don't worry!

I need help figuring out why the first night would not be good for the Remy. The show the first night is the "This is what we are going to do" show. That is one I really do not enjoy. We would not miss any good shows. They normally do not have special dinner things the first night so we will not miss special dinners. The only thing we do not know if the dinner rotation and you do not get that until you get on the ship.

Do you think the first night would be good for Remy?
