June 23rd 2012 - Commandeering the Disney Fantasy - Pirates back in the Caribbean

Thanks for the link to the video. :thumbsup2 Crazy us were actually up this morning a 7am to see the float out live. The Fantasy now only has to be finished and sail across the pond. :cool1: Only 167 days to our cruise.

I got up at 4:30 to watch it!

The person I talked to said I can let them know when I check in. I am going to call as soon as I get my boarding call just to make sure.
Yeah that should be fine...I wouldn't wait till check in

Looks like our ship is heading our way.

Has everyone been added to the Facebook group for this cruise that wanted to be?

I would love to try Remy, but haven't wanted to go by myself. I figured there will be plenty of folks that I could tag along with on this cruise.

If we can get a group where I do not feel like a third wheel I would be interested.

Awesome. We're probably checking in on the 18th. 19th at the latest. Either of you have kids? We've got three DDs (10, 8, and 5).

No kids, all ours are grown. We just need to get there a day early because we can't get any early flights in and we are anxious to get to the ship on Saturday.

My DH and I booked a last minute deal for a chef's table for New Year's Eve that had everyone at one long table near the kitchen. We had a blast chatting with the folks sitting near us and the food was amazing. So getting a group for Remy would be alot of fun:woohoo:

I know lots of folks manage to fly in the day of boarding no problem but that still makes me nervous after hearing about people missing their cruise because of flight delays. So glad you are flying in a day early and don't have to worry about it:goodvibes:thumbsup2

After last year's fiasco, I will NEVER fly in the day before either --- always two days. We had a noon flight for the day before which should have gotten us in to the airport by Port Canaveral at 4 pm. Well, there was some storm in Chicago that delayed every single Southwest flight in the entire country to the point where they thought they'd be cancelling them because the flight crews would be on the planes too long and the unions wouldn't allow them to work any longer. There were no flights available to bump us to and there was a huge family on the plane who was going to a funeral so they had priority above us going to a cruise. We were getting ready to rent cars and drive...which none of the men were too happy about, especially since there were a couple little children in tow and we had return tickets back.....AND because we still would only make it there in time for a late, late boarding.

At the very last moment, the plane arrived. It was not a relaxed day at all with five kids waiting for hours in the airport and so much uncertainty. From now on, I'll always fly in two days ahead and just spend the day before at the parks or something.

It is hard for us because DH doesn't have vacation time, so an extra really costs us. We have been able to do it in the past with a direct flight early in the morning. But after our flight to get to LA for the EBPC cruise in '08 I am a little leary. I was booked through Disney, so I guess they would have made some arrangement if we hadn't made it, but we only had 40 minutes to get across DFW and on to a connecting flight. Talk about hustling!

:yay:I finally added a cruise ticker to my signature. I know it isn't the pirate one, but at least I have a countdown to this cruise.

Hello Fantasy Cruisers!!!

Wondering if anyone has heard if the time is changing for our stay in Costa Maya? 12:45 to 5:30 doesn't leave us with many options.

:cool1:

Wow:eek: Reminds me of that movie Force of Nature.
Not a good way to start a vacation at all.
We tried driving to the port last summer in one long drive and it was really rough:sad2:

Hey
Haven't heard anything yet, but hoping they do change it.
Will be watching the first few Fantasy cruises to see how they handle things.

Margartiville in Grand Cayman

Where is this in relation to where we tender in? (We do tender in here don't we? It's been almost 20 years since we've been to Grand Caymen.)

I can't believe how quickly the time is passing.

Does anyone rememeber what page our Disboard Cruise Meet list is on? Thanks.

Ty for the weekly update!! I love the countdown... helps me get through all of the snow and homework the kids have :rotfl:

Thanks. Doing the countdown helps the time go faster for us. It is in the 30s here but a strong breeze so it feels much colder. :scared1: We need a cruise soon. :lmao: Oh well we'll just have to watch the Magic sail away in an half hour with us Fantasizing we were on her once again.

The Margaritaville in Grand Cayman is a few blocks from where the tender drops us off. All you have to do is to exit the dock area, turn right and go down the road a few blocks. If you bring your swimsuit because they have a pool and slide to have fun in. :cool1::cool1:

The list of cruisers is on the first page post #4.
