June 23rd 2012 - Commandeering the Disney Fantasy - Pirates back in the Caribbean

Technically a Giants fan, but I watched the last Jets game to support them anyway.

Yankees fan here.

You may want to ask your doc specifically about touch rugby, no contact, just with the sand.

Ugh...Yankees. I grew up a Mets fan in a sea of Yankee fans (not one person in my family, including in-laws and their spouses, are on my side). Still, I was at game 5 of the 2000 WS, so if I could survive that, I can survive anything. As to Giants, I kinda root for them too as for me, the hatred isn't there.

If I ask, he'll say no, so what would the point of asking be? :confused3 Plus, by then, I'll be 20+ months post-op.

What kind of coach are you? Injuries don't matter, its all about the team and winning!

Ok, tough having a Doctor as coach, too reasonable. :rotfl2:

That's the spirit Tom!! Be bold!! No autopsy, no gain!!:laughing:

(of course, it's not your leg););)

Good morning everyone!

I just moved 2 tons of snow. 18 inches here near JFK.

Great upper body work out though.

Have to catchup. (ketchup)

Home today, kids as well.

My traps hurt.

Glad to see that you are getting a good workout with the sn*w.

Drew (who is also an Andrew) also plays clarinet! How funny :)

Yeah.....he never brings his instrument home to practice, either......

Austyn just started the clarinet this year and anxious to talk shop with the big boys.

Hard to tell who is off and home today.... :rotfl2:
:blush::laughing:
home yes...but I work from home so...just taking a break:rolleyes1
At least I don't use my work computer:rolleyes1

I had to LOL about the names. Years ago Jon & our oldest ran a gaming server and boards. One day I decided to register on the boards.....Jon's screen name is Zircon. So, I registered as Zirc's Wife. Within minutes Jon was calling me *So, what are you doing?* Me *Nothing much.* Jon *Been on the computer much today?* Me, *Oh, you're calling to find out if I'm Zirc's Wife or if some crazy person is stalking you.* :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
He was muched relieved that it was the crazy person that he is married to and not some random crazy person. ;)
.
:lmao::thumbsup2

Darren always threatened to embarrass me by posting something obnoxious on our Baltic thread. When he finally did post it was to basically ask someone to plan his Baltic vacation...I had to rush on and post before someone started posting a major vacation plan for him:laughing:

Us too, Darren did all the shoveling since he turned the kids away that came by last night

So last I glanced - it's only 53 or so more postings until we see who is still the most wicked pirate and siezes the 1st 1000th posting prize?
:laughing:here we go:thumbsup2

You guys were busy yesterday and this morning.

I guess some are home due to the snow here in the east.
:thumbsup2:cool1:

Hi Laurie!
Hey Peter
Glad you're back:goodvibes

:thumbsup2Made our Andrew stay with it after his friends quit. Mean Mom...but he does enjoy marching band now so I guess I'm forgiven.

So, I'm in (don't tell my wife:ssst::ssst:).
:rolleyes1

All inside Dream cabins were booked when I tried to book onboard in mid-June last year.
My parents loved their around the world cruise. The Gulf of Iman was a bit scary w/ the pirate situation. They had to have an escort out that included a submarine, helicopter and gunships. They had daily "pirate drills" that certainly sounded interesting. Next week they are in the Antarctica area that had the ship disbaled due to rough seas and had to be rescued.

So want to do that cruise someday...maybe skipping the real pirates though

Megan will be 15 too-actually 2 weeks from being 16.
We went to the new band parent meeting last night at the HS. Oh my! What a HUGE time and money commitment - especially for a kid that does not practice all that much either.

Yeah, the marching band is a huge time and money commitment here, but a great experience for Andrew as he is not one to join things or socialize much. The learning curve is very steep in the beginning. He desperately wanted to quit at first, but now he finds it very easy and complains how lame the freshman are:rolleyes:
Looks like he might follow through with it through college as well if he gets into a school that doesn't have a marching band that is too competitve.
I'm chaperoning his band trip to Orlando in March.

Think they will change the sign again. :rotfl2:

Kylie currently plays piano, and wants to start saxaphone next year.

I have gotten Madison back interested in piano once again. From chorus she has learned to read/understand music that she is getting pretty good.

Sure thing. We will be out of town this weekend, but after that we are somewhat open.
:thumbsup2

I guess. Just didn't want to be relocating a hip dislocation on the beach.

That would need a whole lot of medication.

Yeah Peter, from what his doc, nurse and physical therapist have told us it is also the type of motion that can get him in trouble. So a twist in the wrong direction and that hip dislocation could be a reality:headache:

Doesn't help that one of his friends from work played ice hockey for 20 years with an artificial hip.
Maybe if he wears sneakers or water shoes ...or I can convince him not to move much:laughing:.

We were also surprised how much time and $ were involved in Marching Band, but I am so glad Drew joined. He doesn't play any sports, so this is the perfect activity for him. Just about all of his friends are also in Marching Band, and they are such good kids!

Is Andrew's band playing at Disney in March? Did you see the pictures I posted on FB of Drew's Marching Band playing there? It was so much fun!

I would love to hear her sing on the ship. Don't they have family karaoke? Do you think she would do it?
