June 23rd 2012 - Commandeering the Disney Fantasy - Pirates back in the Caribbean

Checking in Me,DW,@ time of cruise DD17 and DD11.

I can't believe Maddie will be 17! I told Hailey about the cruise and the first thing she asked was if your girls were going too.

Hi,

We just booked this cruise. We were scheduled for a double dip in Nov 2011, but we can't take the kids out of school anymore, so it's summer only cruising for us for the next few years.

It will be me (Krista), DH, DD (16), DD (12) and DS (10). I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone over the next year and a half! :)

Krista

Hi Krista! I recognize your username and I know you've given me some advice on here before. I have a DD who will be 12 on this cruise. She'll be looking to get to know the other kids before we cruise.

Glad everyone likes the countdown. It is something we look forward it each week reminding us the cruise is getting closer.

It appears a lot of cruisers know each other. We are new to cruising this time of year and look forward to meeting all of you. We usually cruise in October over Columbus day but the kids are too old now to take out of school at this point. We are getting one more October cruise this year on the Magic before this cruise. Embarkation day will our son's b-day and he is all excited to do Aquaduck on his b-day.

We have been on 2 Western's before so if any newbies with any questions, please do not hestiate to ask.

Love the countdowns, and thanks for a great picture!

This will be our 7th DCL cruise, but our first Western, so I'm sure we'll be picking your brain.

After the Repo/Alaska cruise depending on how many others I plan between that one and this one. I'm not even sure who besides my dgs I will let come with me. My dh has a problem with vacations and money!:confused3

Sounds like you have some great trips planned!

Thanks for adding us to the roster on the first page, right ahead of dahuffy. (love you Debi!:rolleyes1)

To all those on this cruise that don't know us Pirates, please know that we are not an exclusive group. We are looking forward to getting to know everyone on this thread. We are just a little excited because this has all come together for us in the last few days. We'll settle down in a bit.

Absolutely looking forward to getting to know everybody!

Hi Everyone! You don't know me. I have been lurking on your thread. Me and my DH are going on the Dream in March. I was planning on booking this trip when we got on board. You all sound like such a fun group. I do have a few reservations though. First, is there going to be any rooms left or will you have taken all of them:rotfl2:. Second, how is the Western Carribean. Is it worth the money? I will say sorry ahead of time. If Disney goes to Alaska in 2012 then I will have to sail on that one. Hope to meet all of you some time.

Hello and Welcome!!

Probably - it's a bigger ship than the Magic. ;)

We think so, but we're divers. And it doesn't get much better than Cozumel. In fact, we're excited that the entire family will be old enough to dive - finally! DS10 won't have to snorkle above in the bubbles anymore. :cloud9:
.

wow Darren, 8 posts already, you're really getting into this time :rotfl:

Yeah, I'm a regular Chatty Cathy!:rotfl::rotfl:

So, is the planning done here, on FB, in the chat, or, more than likely, a hearty combination of all of the above.

ps - I noticed a zip line excursion in Costa Maya. I'm just sayin'. :rolleyes1

Sheez. I sure hope I don't have to keep up in 3 places!

A Zip Line in Costa Maya?!! DS13 (will be 15) was just asking about one and I told him no in favor of diving ( which he's cool with). But we won't be diving in Costa Maya...

Course I was kinda hoping for a Pirate Ship there. We missed that last one, you guessed it, diving! :rotfl2:

Just jumped right in and forgot to introduce myself

I'm Monica and will be sailing with DS who will be 16. It will be my 6th Disney cruise, 11th ever cruise and it will be DS's 5th Disney and 6th ever cruise. And after 50 nights on DCL, this will be my first cruise as a Gold Castaway member.

Thank you for the welcome. We are not divers. And unfortuately my DH is not wild about water. Do you think this would be a good cruise for landlovers. I have to admit with Mexico being in the news so much it makes me nervous. I want to book our next trip while we are on board so any advice on trips to do would be appreciated.

I'm really the wrong person to ask. :) Though there are plenty here who are! Some folks are using less interesting ports a "sea days" and taking advantage of the time to explore the new ship more thoroughly.

We justed booked for the Fantasy on the 6/23/12 cruise, as a high school graduation surprise gift for our twin daughters. Been on both the Magic and Wonder in the past. Looking forward to the Fantasy.

I think this is what we'll be doing. Just don't have the "funds" to do much else.

We very seldom do excursions - we do get off sometimes just to walk - but the ship itself is our excursion. It's easier to get a chair by the pool on port days. Of course I'll have to make a Kaluha run, the girls were big into coffee/chocolate martinis when they visited this summer.

Ok, it's official. We're booked stateroom #12012.

Not divers here either and I think this cruise will be just fine for landlovers:thumbsup2
A brand new ship to explore and there will be land only excursions as well I'm sure. I've never cruised this 7 day before so I don't have any first hand advice, but from what I've read on trip reports we should have plenty to choose from:woohoo:

You're not just whistling Dixie!

Hey
Welcome Aboard:cheer2:
Our DS Andrew will also have just graduated from high school and finally old enough for Palo.

Guess we'll just have to throw your FE gifts through the gate and hope they get to you.

:rotfl2::thumbsup2

The gate thing seems to suck IMHO. How does 'family' get to visit? Hmm....

Cousin Andy:thumbsup2

We've done the Western and we're not divers or big beach people and we had a great time.
