June 23rd 2012 - Commandeering the Disney Fantasy - Pirates back in the Caribbean

Hello again!

I've been mega absent for awhile because to be honest I wasn't sure if we'd even get to go on this cruise. We cancelled dream August 2011 and moved Hawaii cruise from April to October (and looks like we won't be making that cruise after all due to "time off from work" issues.) BUT.. looks like we are going to make it on this cruise.

Our family dynamic has changed a bit plus my older two won't be on this cruise (oldest is 18 and likely won't be able to get off work, Robert will be gone to high adventure scouts camp in New Mexico at the time of this cruise) Looks like it's going to be me, Rita , Chris and his two kids Amy and Harley .

Added myself to FE list and now so much to do to prepare! I need new FE's too! LOL

Pirates, do we have shirts for this cruise and I probably missed a cut off date?

Shelly glad to hear your still going , Shirts will be avail , but I have to finish the design and I am headed to Coz next week to take care of some things .... Once I get back I will probably need someone to take care of getting a list together of those interested in shirts .....They will be White with the logo from the front , just don't know if the skull will be as it is or change to the chrome skull ....the back will be very similar to the WBTA that we last took .....

^^ Tony- no clue! Wish I could help but I haven't even begun to think about that and I know it's gotta be harder to figure out a date and to GET the date/time you want on a shorter cruise. Darn these shorter cruises! LOL

It's official......... Cruise paid in full as of last night. Used my upgraded Disney Premier Visa card; should get 5% in Disney Reward $$ as a result.

All details are set except for booking excursions. Will probably do the Dolphin Swim in Cozumel; Parasailing at Castaway Cay. I am looking into the Sea Trek Helmet Dive in either Costa Maya or Grand Cayman. Has anyone done this before? Video's look pretty cool.

We are new crew members of the Pirate Ship. I would be interested in the T-shirts, so keep me posted. I haven't signed up for the Facebook page, as this cruise is a surprise for our twin daughters, who will be graduating from high school in June, and I don't want them to find out via Facebook.

Concierge/Platinum can start booking on the 24th (next Friday). If we're linked to a 2nd stateroom with a Gold rezzie, and want to book Palo/Remy @ 120 days, does the Gold statetoom need to be PIF at the 120 day mark also?

I'm thinking yes but wanted to check the DIS wisdom.

In order to book Palo/Remy the Gold party would need to be PIF at the 120 day mark so the Concierge/Platinum cruiser (also has to be PIF) that is linked can book the ressies at the 120 day mark.

I have two teen aged sons (14 and 16) that are sports lovers-- they are not really into the whole club idea. Can anyone fill me in on what the Fantasy has to offer them ????

There's one on FB, but (he said thinking out aloud) it might be better just to have a definitive DIS rollcall here at the beginning of the thread. Trying to track stuff in two places confuses me little swabbie head.

Very jealous that the adults don't have a space similar to the teens. I highly recommend touring it on the first day, even if you don't have a teen. Check out the kids clubs too, for that matter, and be sure to wash your hands (you'll see what I mean when you get there).

I have DS 13 and 15 - on Castaway Cay, you'll find them during the entire day playing beach soccer..... They'll be on the sports deck during the day on the ship as well. I think there are a lot of kids who do the same thing.

When I started the roll call on FB, I took the Roll Call list from the DIS post as our starter base. Everyone who has joined the roll call here is on that list. It's quite a collection - we'll be taking up most of the ship!
