June 2013 Car Rental When Best Deals

$248 5/31 am to 6/10 pm mco pick up/drop off with Dollar for a full size ...
Did I get a good deal (city special) or is there anything I can apply to get a lower price ???
We have never rented from Dollar before .. Is getting the car and getting going an easy process (we are use to National ... we did Alamo once and had to go to the desk and wait for our car which took forever)

If you sign up with Dollar Express, the process of picking up your car is much quicker. You can still sign up now and add your number to your reservation. When applying, they will ask for a credit card to keep file but will not put charges on it until you bring back the car. Once you are a member. you can go straight to the garage across from the airport. bring your paperwork to the kiosk near the cars and they will direct you to your car. I think initially you may have to let them take an impression of your credit card...takes us less than 2 minutes usually.

In case it helps anyone: My price for Alamo full size for 2nd week of June that I booked two weeks ago just dropped a ton ($508 to $306 for 6 days).:cool1:

I was not able to modify online, but called the 888 number provided, and spoke with a great CSR who was able to modify for me. Was (and still am) using Southwest code. But playing around with it, looks like improved prices for many codes (AARP, etc.)

Geez. When I just tried that [albeit a 10 day rental versus your 7 day], my total was over $500. :scratchin

Edited to add: Not that I'm not happy for you; just sucks to be me.
I just ran your dates and came up with $417. total. Did you do this today?

I did 6/8 - 6/15 as an exact one week [noon to noon] and it still comes up with $417., but entering your info of 6/8 at 10:00 a.m. to 6/14 at 7:00 p.m. [which I agree is a one week rental] it comes up with a total of $129. That is so odd, isn't it? What a great rate for you!!!!

I run into this often the week we visit in October, but not several hundred $s difference:faint:. It's frustrating to find a few hours can cost so much more.

my family teases me as to my OCDishness as to rechecking rental car rates but it's the one item that really ranges in price and allows us the luxury of a car during our trip.

Saw some decent price drops today. Had been watching for minivans. Previous lowest I had for June 9-16 was $286 at Alamo. Checked my usual sites today and first found Alamo for $256 at Expedia. Then found Enterprise for $240 at CarRentalSavers.com. :thumbsup2 Holding on to both reservations for now, but will continue to check. Just FYI.

Anyone have any experience with Enterprise at MCO? I think I used Alamo last go-around and that was pretty easy.

I have been checking rates all day, everyday and it seems my best deal is still through Budget and National Car. I have not seen any prices changes for my dates: 6/1 thru 6/13. As a matter of fact, the prices have stayed exactly the same..... I know the rates will drop. I think I have pretty good rates with both Budget and National. We have used Alamo in the past, however, they continue to be the highest rates! Oh well. I just needed to take a moment to vent my frustrations. Thank you for listening!!!

I'm listening to you and I feel your pain. :scared: I'm monitoring for 6/1 - 6/11. At this point, I have a National rental for a fullsize @ $285. and a small SUV with Alamo @ $293. This is the most I ever have paid for a 10 day rental. [and yes I will be cancelling one soon]

Patience is SOOOO over rated!!!! I think your rates are pretty good! I got Wendie's Special through Budget ($350 all in) for a mid size SUV and a mid size reserved through National ($385 all in- KLM code and $20 off electronice coupon). I would love to see the rates closer to $300 or even (finger crossed 4 times) $200 for my dates. We accepted that we will at least pay $350 (for the Budget SUV) if the rates dont go back down, so if they do, more money for all our favorite snacks at Disney!!! I am addicted to those jalapeno stuffed pretzels ;)

Is your e-coupon really only for $20? If so, try e-coupon ND9334SND which is $30. This was in an e-mail from National for anyone to use [thanks to diser 'n2mm']. If it works, that'll get you jalapeno stuffed pretzels at least once. :p

Thank you, thank you (bowing down)! This helps! You're right! More pretzels in my belly!

I must be spoiled. I have NEVER paid more than 120 tops for a midsize all taxes included EVERY JUNE in Orlando. Last summer it was 88 with taxes etc!!! For a week! Now I see 293 as my best rate??? Maybe b/c I am later in June instead of first week but I think I had a much better rate this time last year when planning for June....

I have been checking rates daily as well. So far I have a car with Dollar pick up at the airport on 6/27 and drop off at Wyndham DTD on 7/1 for a standard car $99. I am hoping to get a much lower rate for 6/27-6/30. I rather not rent with Dollar but rather with Alamo. But I think that it's still too early and will have better luck in June; or at least I hope to.

Can you share your code for the 99 for dollar? thanks!

my alamo rate dropped slightly again yesterday evening:).

Still not able to modify:confused3using the insiders rate. Rebooked and sent email requesting cancellation of original res.

haven't used alamo for some time, is this now the standard procedure with them?

I have run into the same problem.

Alamo rates are down again at the moment. Visa code, a weekly fullsize rental is $154 total. Rates are only good for economy through fullsize, I was really hoping for an SUV or minivan though.
