June 2008 availability at 7 months out?

Ok, so now I am getting double developer points with my new AKV contract - that's great.
But, what do you think availability will be when I try to call at 7 months out to reserve a 1BR or 2BR villa? I don't have any real preference on location but I suppose it would be nice to take a test drive at AKV but just to get the accomodations is what matters.
What do you think the chances of getting a grand villa at OKW are? Maybe I can treat the in-laws and brother's family to a trip.

OKW not likely. The others maybe. You have a better chance if you don't care where you stay. Good Luck.

I assume you mean a grand villa at OKW. What about 2BR and 1BR units elsewhere.
I really don't want to find out that I get 370 developer points and then I won't be able to use them.
Is it really that difficult to reserve for 2nd half of June at 7 months out? Because this may change my decision to join after all. We are not the kind to be able to make plans a year in advance but we do have to wait until the kids are done with school.

Hi,

OKW Grand villas are very popular with DVC'ers because compared to the grandvillas at other resorts, they have very low point totals. But, if it might be available at seven months, it is probably most likely at the first half of June rather than the last half of June. But this is all just a big guess. I bet that getting 2 2bdrms at OKW for the last half of June would be a piece of cake!

You can give your guide a call and have them look at availability of the dates that you want for you. Of course you have to wait for the seven month window opens, but at least it would give you an idea of what is available. Hope this helps!

In 2004, I was able to change my 1 BR reservation to a 2 Bedroom one month before our trip, so I doubt you would have that much trouble getting a 2bedroom 7 months prior. I would ahve my doubts about the GV.
