Yes it's true - GTY oceanview are now like $300 less that my reservation's original price for an inside cat 11B stateroom! Only catch is you have to pay in full when you reserve and no refunds are allowed. I am thinking about it very seriously - why not get an upgrade and pay less???

Also VERY excited about Palermo!!!

Where did you check the prices? We have reserved an inside stateroom (category 11c), so how would one go about changing to an oceanview (which would be awesome)? We booked on board our last cruise with Disney, so should I call or check the website? Thanks for your help.

I would call them you can always cancel one booking and rebook

Guaranteed Oceanview stateroom $4854.98.
Guaranteed Inside stateroom would total $4154.98,


Here are important details you need to know:

You will not be able to select a stateroom number or make special requests as to stateroom location. The stateroom is assigned at the discretion of Disney Cruise Line® within a week of cruise departure. The only guarantee will be Inside, Outside or Verandah (based on the bookable category code listed).
This applies to new bookings only. Existing reservations cannot be modified to these new categories.
Full payment is due at time of booking. Booking holds are not permitted.
Reservation is non-refundable.
Reservation and applied payment is non-transferable.
Full legal names and birthdates for all stateroom occupants are required at time of booking.
Name changes after the reservation number is confirmed will not be permitted.
Sail date, stateroom category and cruise itinerary changes are not permitted once a reservation number is confirmed.
Not combinable with any discount or promotional offers, with the exception of $25 onboard credit for bookings made on Disney online booking engine and Disney VISA benefits.
The “Verandah – VGT” category allows for a maximum of four stateroom occupants.

I just finished changing my reservation when jns's post came through! I've been thinking about adding a room for a while and have been monitoring the prices for a while. When I saw this deal, I jumped on it.

One slight clarification about existing reservations. If you haven't paid in full, you CAN transfer your deposit to the new reservation and just cancel the old one. That's what I did.

What I had before: secret porthole inside stateroom for 4 people at roughly $6200 (adjusted from an original reservation price of about $8200).

What we have now: TWO GTY Navigator Veranda rooms, 2 people in each room, for roughly $8400.

WOW!!! I'm thrilled. One further note. I didn't purchase travel insurance through Disney the first time around, but decided to do it on this reservation to take advantage of the cancel for any reason option. This helps compensate for the restrictions of the reservation category. If we decide not to go for any reason we get a full credit for a future cruise. (Medical reason gets full cash value credit). That added about $340 to each room. I can cancel that within 15 days.

I got this price right off of the DCL website... still there today (Category OGT - family of 4 - 2 adults/2 children ages 17 & 13 = $5586.64)

So I just got off the phone with the DCL folks and the only drawback for the new Gty room rates are that they are good for new bookings only. For us, that means we'd lose our onboard booking credits (which total $800). Unfortunately, we wouldn't be saving that much on the room to justify losing the discounts. Bummer. Oh well, I won't complain. At least our cruise didn't get canceled like the Sept. cruise did. Oh, and we get to go to Palermo instead of Tunis. Yay!

Welcome! I have a DD 5 and DD 9. I've booked my DSD and MIL who are also going with us on a direct flight from EWR to BCN on Continental. It's a great schedule but we used FF miles, the fare has been from $1,000 to $1,400 R/T.

Booked with dreams unlimited here on the boards had to cancel old booking and booked again with them and they added the OBC

Sorry to say but we cancelled our cruise this morning.

Older son is on track for the accelerated math program and he wants to take geometry this summer.

So even though I told all the kids, no summer school or sports travel summer of 2011 that is what is happening.

Very bummed!!! Wishing you all a wonderful Med Cruise! Sorry we will miss it!
