June 18, 2010 - WONDERful Waverun - Bahamas 4-Night

Palo is our one thing that we want to do...don't think we are doing excursions other than the snorkeling/biking at CC. Does anyone know what night is Pirate night pirate:? I had heard it was the third night and I don't want to miss it.

Jess-3-0! UGH...I'm officially old! That's all I have to say about that! ;)

I think Pirate night is usually CC day... I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. I thought dress up night was Nassua night, then Pirate night, then at sea day.

I know- I actually am the only one of my circle of peers (I have friends in all ages, but I do still have many high school/college friends oddly) that isn't bothered in the least to be hitting that milestone. I think because all of Aidan's health issues at birth and continuing problems, and then my being diagnosed with cancer at 26- well it ages you mentally:) I say bring on 40- I feel that old half the tme:)

The ridemax looks awesome! With 9 people arguing over where we are going next...that might be just the solution!

Hope everyone is doing well this week. It's a busy time for me with assessments and report cards for my second graders. Just one step closer to summer! One quarter to go, thank goodness!

Jess...are you running lately? I've been so lazy. Just got out yesterday. Trying to get three runs in this week, but I run at night and the couch or my bed has been much more inviting! My 40th birthday (unbelievably!) is coming up and I have a goal for it. I'd better get moving!

Jeremy, I see the talk is that booking Atlantis through the hotel might not be much cheaper and a hassle to check in and out. It most likely depends on the season and the hotel's rates, I suppose. Still worth looking into!

Enjoy your week...or survive it! Whatever works for you!
Laura

Hey Laura,
I'm about to turn 39, so it's been a while since 3-0 was big for me too!

I actually discovered a little blurb that mentioned booking a room at the Comfort Suites rather than Atlantis since they get full privileges at the resort for a fraction of the cost. And it's definitely cheaper than doing it as an excursion through Disney. My wife and I haven't decided if we even want to do it yet...

We booked Palo and a spa treatment, but no excursions...I like the freedom and Castaway Cay goes so fast that I don't want to 'clutter' it with responsibilities!

Check out this site for Navigators from past 4-night cruises; it looks like you're all right about Pirate and formal night: http://www.*****************/

Talk to y'all soon!:thumbsup2

I ended up booking Palo for pirate night. I don't see my mom dressing as a pirate. We will stop by for the fireworks that evening. We aren't doing any excursions. I like the time to just relax. I am hoping for a mother daughter spa special to come out on the ship.

Pirate night is CC day.

Then I will try to book Palo on the Nassau night or the last night...My kids will LOVE pirate night and I don't want to miss that! I also want to make sure that we get to try each dining room, so I want to do Palo on the repeated dining room. We have some special clothing all planned for pirate night! When do we know our dining rotation?

I am also waiting to see if there is a spa special. That will be my personal excursion!

Another question...how do I post pics? Do I get an account on photobucket and do it from there? I can't seem to make it work just posting from my computer directly.

FYI-I found a site called cruisecompete.com...if you tell them what you are interested in, different travel agencies make offers and compete for your buisness. We are in the process of booking a 20th anniversary cruise for 2011. It has been helpful. I found a 7 day on Carnival with the itinerary we wanted for $484 a person! I was impressed by that!

Unfortunately, I don't think you find out which rotation you are on until you board the ship. Sorry if that's not much help. :confused3

That is how we did our pics. Photobucket works fine, just make sure you copy the correct link text. It took us a couple of tries to get it right.

Thanks...but I am the only well person in my house! It's the rest of the family that is sick. I figure I will have all of the germs by about...Easter break! ;)

I'm excited to start shopping for my FE gifts today...Picking up my supplies!

That's how it goes isn't it? You stay well enough to care for everyone else in the house, then as soon as they are better you get it:(

I'm excited to start planning for FE gifts too- I haven't done any planning yet because I wasn't sure how many of us there were and I hate to over/under budget for them.

I think that by the middle to end of April we should know the final count so we can all plan accordingly.

Have fun shopping!!! I'm off to the gym (grumble...as it's just now 8am on a Sunday)...

Hey guys - I just had to revise my signature because for some reason my previous signature ticker site got censored! Weird.

Also, the link that I posted earlier seems to have been censored as well.
Also weird since as far as I can tell they're not a competing travel agent or anything. Here's the name of the site...just type it in as one website name: castaway club dot com. They post old navigators and a ton of really useful info on Disney Cruises.

Talk to y'all soon!

Hey:) I had one of those tickers too- the moderators pulled it because of a pottential virus threat:confused3

Thanks for the link! I've been censored on links before too that I can't figure out why. Weird!

UGH! what is the deal...if you click, you can see me, but I can't seem to get it on my profile. If anyone can help, I would love you for it! I'm apparently technologically impaired today!

OK...so you are trying to change your avatar? The way I did it was to go into customize profile, then change avatar and then put in the link from my photobucket site.

Is that what you are doing? PM me if you need more help!

Didn't get it to work...oh well. I'll try again another day. Is this the weekend we can book our excursions and such? I want to book Palo if I can!

What is the cutoff date for FE? Just curious! I found some cute things when I was shopping!

Hey guys,
Okay - here's some food for thought:

1) FE Cutoff - Do we want to do April 18 or May 1? That's about 8 weeks or 6 weeks of lead time.

2) FE list - right now it's REALLY short. I've put the few of us on the list into the spreadsheet that I uploaded to this link - just click here to download and print for later use: http://www.mediafire.com/file/gw4tyzndmid/FEList040110.xlsx
- Laura - you mentioned that your family is in several rooms - I only have 1 room of info. Do any of the other family members want to take part?
- kar529 - Kari, do you want to be part of the Fish Exchange?

3) On my last cruise we had wristbands made that identified us as part of the group. I'm looking into the info on them - it really made it easier to identify each other when we saw those wristbands! I'll let you know if I can get them for us if you're interested. We could have them inscribed with something like "DIS Wonder - June 18, 2010"

4) If you guys want, I can add pictures to the spreadsheet which again will help us to identify each other more easily. If you'd like to do that shoot me a PM and I'll send you my email address - I'll post them in the spreadsheet as soon as I get them!

5) Final thing - Cruise meet - where and when? If the group stays this small, maybe we should just pull it together between lunch and the muster drill on the first day. My evening will be taken up by getting the girls acclimated at the Oceaneer Club during the Open House! Please discuss.

Love ya!

Doesn't much matter to me!

Thank you for organizing!

I'm going to guess no, but I will ask my SIL. They are always crazy busy.

Sounds fun...and something to add to the scrapbook later!

That would be great...but I can't seem to figure out the picture thing! I could always email you one.

5) Final thing - Cruise meet - where and when? If the group stays this small, maybe we should just pull it together between lunch and the muster drill on the first day. My evening will be taken up by getting the girls acclimated at the Oceaneer Club during the Open House! Please discuss.

Anything works for me...

Love ya!

I think a lot of people don't know about the "meet" boards. Not sure how we would get the word out!

There are a lot more people involved on other cruises. I think we've become victims of a couple of things.
We haven't all been on a ton just chatting away - that would probably make more people interested and comfortable. But that's because of the second thing - the economy and life have just become so volatile that none of us really have the time to put in! I applaud the few of us who are here for just trying to connect and get the most out of our cruise!
:)

Anyway, as soon as I find out anything about the wristbands I may just go ahead and purchase them for us all. (Again, it's only 5 staterooms at this point!)

With regard to the pics - just shoot me a PM with your email or I can shoot you a PM with my email if you are interested in putting them on that little spreadsheet and we can email pics. I'm NOT going to try and figure out the picture thing on DISBoards!

1. I'm up for May 1. It will give people more time to join in.
2. Thanks for the list
3. If we don't want to do wristbands we can also put a green mouse head sticker on our laynard--If people use them.
4. I think picture are good. I will take a picture of me and my mom this Sunday.
5. The meet between lunch and drill is fine. We are taking Disney transportation, so we won't get there until 1:00 maybe. I'm not sure.

Thanks for all your work!!! I'm excited to meet everyone!

PS: Anyone in Disney June 13 or 14? I'm going to be alone doing some research before my mom arrives on the 15 and would love to just say hi to someone during lunch or a snack.

Hey everyone!

The picture thing on this site can be a little tricky.. I took a web design class awhile back so html code, and figuring out the right codes for each type of board comes natural. If you PM I can walk you through the steps if you really care enough. lol.

Laura- yes, this weekend (april 4 at midnight) is the time we can book things. I am west coast so that is 9pm Sat for me:)

To answer J's questions:
1)May 1st is great
2) Thanks for being so organized!
3)Wristbands would be fun- I ordered some for really cheap for my kiddos for DL and WDW. PM if me if you need a good site.
4) I will shoot you a PM for your e-mail and send pics to you:)
5)Cruise meet- anytime worls great. I will not be one of those early boarders though- I'm taking DCL transp from CBR. I know it can take awhile for DCL busses to get to the port. I would also like the evening free though to possibly get the kiddos in the clubs (not sure about Aidan- he is so unemotional that I can't judge if he's having a good time- and doesn't do well in group activities. It may be a no go for him)

Tracie- we are flying in the 15th red eye so I won't be around the 13th and 14th :(

Did I forget anything?? :cool1:
