I have to start planning our travel to florida for next mays cruise. Unfortunately, taylor and I will have MAYBE 2 days at WDW...there's only so much school she can miss...so I need to have opinions on what to do/where to stay. We are dvc members and I just held Old Key West as thats my home resort. I will try to switch to Animal Kingdom in October. I checked out the transfer situation and disney will pick us up for free from the airport and it's 60 for us to get to the ship. BUT...which property will be the best to stay at "convenience" wise. Or does it not really matter. If we only have one day, we'll just do magic kingdom/epcot, but if we have 2 then we'll try to hit all the parks. We can skimp on the kingdom as we have done disneyland/DLP. I dunno...whadda think.
Anyone else can chime in. I haven't been to WDW in 20 years. It's changed ALOT and taylor has never been there, so I just want to get the most accomplished in a very short period of time.
THanks
Steph
Steph,
Unless you want to spend a lot of time in Animal Kingdom I probably wouldn't stay there. It's a bit far away from everything. My family prefers the Boardwalk or Beach Club. They both have great pools and the boardwalk always has something going on, the kids love to walk around on it. Plus, you can walk to Epcot from both resorts and take a boat to MGM. From Epcot you can take the monorail to the Magic Kingdom. It saves a lot of wasted time on buses.
In reality, anywhere you stay is wonderful. Old Key West has the largest rooms, but I would ask to be near the main pool or the Miller Road pool. Otherwise you have to ride the bus thru the resort for 4 or 5 stops.
If you are staying at the miller road stop and you realized you missed the bus, you can easily walk to the main pool area before the bus gets there. I think I would feel out of the loop at one of the other stops, you would need the bus to go get food! No thanks!
Enjoy your planning.
