Oh that sounds so much nicer than Topsides...I remember it was so packed up there last time. Plus we'll get plenty of time up there for the sail away party and lots of time to get ice cream!!!

mmmmm...ice cream....can't wait to get ice cream:cloud9:

So has anyone started packing yet? I have packed all my toiletries, bathing suits and cover up. I am hoping to be finished this weekend (since it's that last full one we have:cool1: ) The last thing to go in my luggage will be all my dresses, which are all organized and ready to go in my closet. I also started putting together my fish extender gifts. Oh gosh, I am getting why to excited...don't know how much work is going to get done in the next two weeks.

So you're not serious about being the first at the port...:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Of course we know it's all in fun.

No, I am not joking about being first, HAHA

Ok good, my sarcasim has been known to get me in trouble!!!

Yes, I completly agree. We did topsiders, it was miserable. We were one of the first ones there too. Being outside was nice but I would much rather the other one.

Ok so the one question that I can't seem to find an answer to is...how do we line up? Is everyone planning on taking their luggage with them to line up to get into the building:confused3 In Port Canaveral you drop your luggage off before you park but since we could park in the terminal at dark:30, I'm not really sure how the whole check in luggage thing is going to work. I have posted the question on the main board so hopfully we will get an answer soon.

Yes, I started packing today! I was so excited about this cruise and then the last week or so, there is SOOOO much to do until the cruise, I'm feeling overwhelmed and a bit  I just need this week to be OVER and then I can get my energy up for the cruise again~staff appreciation (I'm PTS Prez and that committee is AWOL so I've been scrambling), end of year parties and assemblies, DM coming into town, tball game and party w/trophies and certificates (what was I thinking volunteering to do those :scared1: ) and a host of other things that listing them would depress me even more!

I got my General Packing List printed and have filled in most of the #'s. Got most of DS clothes out and in a pseudo suitcase and have bought most of the toiletries. Printed out the cruise docs needed and have the passports ready to go.

Going to work on the FE stuff ~ that always makes my mood improve and maybe take an hour to myself!

Hmmm, whadya know ~ I do feel a bit better now. Guess I just needed to vent!

I think with our mini crowd we'll probably do lunch at Parrot's Cay. I like the idea of being seated rather than scrambling for a seat at the Topsiders. Looks like we'll be seeing you all in the parking lot ~ can't believe we're less than 2 weeks away! :woohoo:

We are about 2/3 packed and probably will finish the rest this Saturday with those items you can't pack early. Then we leave for vacation at 4:45 am on Monday morning...wahoo!!

I packed for DH. Next I will pack dd's then myself. All of our tolietries are packed. Currently working on FE gifts. Those need a suitcase of their own!

I would love to know this too!

It would def be nice to put 50% less down and still get the onboard credits. We would have to do it the day we board though.

It is ok, I will be there to save your spot at the restaurant....:rotfl:

(I hope everyone knows that this is all in fun, in no way am I being serious. I tend to be very sarcastic. I mean it to be funny, I do not want to offend anyone. :)

Well, now that you said something....KIDDING LOL a gal after my own heart....sarcastic humor is my favorite kind :rotfl:

Since I'm gunna win the race to the Port, we'll let ya beat us to Parrot Cay :lmao: :lmao:

I guess if the booking desk is open on the first night we would. That's a great offer.

Ewww :scared1: okay that's nasty to think about especially since we have to wear them for two of our excursions!!

Speaking of excursions -- thanks to whoever it was who told me the power snorkle was cancelled. We booked my DH and DFIL on the Chileno Snorkle excursion. :cool1: Anyone else doing that one??

You're welcome! It was just luck -- my DS logged on to check on something else and noticed that we had nothing booked for Cabo. It took a few phone calls to figure it out, but it had been cancelled, and there was no notification. :confused3 I'm just glad we all found out in time to reschedule!

My DFIL called to complain about them not telling us about the cancellation and they told him that since we booked through a TA that they didn't have our info and didn't tell us. They only told people that booked directly through Disney. I won't even go off on my tangent about how stupid their explanation is...

I'd like to know this too. I was planning to book on board anyway and then change the date once the 2010 itineraries came out but if they have a really good deal....maybe I can eek in a 2009 cruise :rolleyes1

I have started to pack. My list (which is the longest...duh) is done so I know what I'm taking and that's half the battle. I've started to take some of DS's clothes out of circulation so I can get it in the suitcase. That means doing laundry a little more of often :laundy: but worth knowing it's packed. DH is not packed but since his stuff can fit in a plastic grocery bag (or so he claims) that should take no time at all  DD has to try on her shorts...she has slimmed down a couple of sizes with swimming this year and she wasn't big to begin with so she's got to try on her shorts (I should have such problems). As long as they don't slip off her when she walks we should be good. If you ask her tho, she has NOTHING to wear :sad2: Toiletries are getting finished up with this weekend, FE stuff and DH wants to pack our beverage carry on...he's in charge of that one. I DO NOT want to be responsible for breaking a good bottle of wine or even worse his JD

AirTita - I feel you pain with end of year school stuff...finished up the last of our school obligations (other than graduation) last week...hang in there, it'll be over soon...think MAGIC!!! :bitelip:

NOT A CHANCE!!!!!!

You're right....Christine just informed me that there's no way she's letting you beat us to Parrot Cay :rotfl2:

Since you guys know the layout of the restaurant, should we kind of pick an area of the restaurant to try for or is it not that big that we should be able to spot our group of Port Dwellers pretty easily? Are we official then, are we the Port Dwellers??!!!

We booked directly through the DCL website, and we still weren't told. Oh well, fun times will still be had by all. :goodvibes

No seriously...let's take a head count as to who wants to all eat lunch together after boarding. So if you plan on getting to the port early and boarding right away and want to eat lunch together post your screen name & # of people on the boards....

Brooklyn - 4

We are planning to be at port around 10, so we can meet for lunch after boarding.

Dayub - 3

I don't know if any of you have ever left out of San Pedro and it may be different for Disney but...
When we went on RCCL in April, DH dropped us off with our luggage at the port and then went to park. While he was parking, there were tons of porters there (hope you get a good one; I didn't but that's another story) so I gave him the luggage and then waited for DH to return. There are frequent shuttles so I don't think we waited more than 5 minutes for him to return and then we all walked inside and up the escalators to check in.
I am assuming that the porters will be there in force since they work for tips and we can leave our luggage with them and then line up with our noses pressed against the doors chanting "open, open, open" :rotfl2: :lmao: until some poor DCL CM feels sorry for us and let's us in! :cool1:
It sounded like they want all the disembarking people to be off the ship by 9 or 9:30a so anytime after that should be good. I don't think we want to get there too early since you want all those people who parked their cars last week to leave so you can get a good space! :thumbsup2 Also, RCCL mirrors DCL's itinerary so it will twice as much people and cars~

OK - back to my chores~:goodvibes

On the main board someone said they dropped off their luggage with a porter at about 9:30 and their DH dropped the car off. She was able to wait in the port until check in opened around 10am, she got #3 (#1 and #2 are for suite guests). You don't get your number until after you check in. I think the whole divide and conquer is the way to go. I'll get in line while DH checks the luggage.

I'm so glad they try to get people off the ship by 9:30! We requested to be the first ones off the ship because our flight is out of LAX at 12:30pm and I'm a little worried about it. What time do we get into port (or do they start letting people off the ship)? My DSIL is picking us up and taking us to the airport so I'm trying to make sure she gets there at the right time.

If you have an early flight just let guest services know as soon as you board the ship...after us of course:rotfl2: . Anyone with an early flight it allowed to Disembark first. It should be a problem. Most people have said they were off the ship by 9am.
