I know Zachary (who will be 13+ at sailing time) will def. want to get to know the other kids who will be sailing with us as time gets closer.

Does someone want to start a list of DISers so we can keep up with who all is sailing? I'd be glad to do that. I can make a list and post it occasionally with DISboard name and Cabin-numbers and traveling party.

That's what I was thinking. So far my daughter (who will be 14) is the only teenage girl. That could be good or bad.

Yes, true...and it was in Excel...but, my son, that list sure came in handy when we were racing all over the ship delivering FE gifts, didn't it?

Which reminds me (not like it's 21 months to go or anything) but we'll be bringing our Fish Extender (FE). That was a lot of fun last year!

Welcome back aboard with us... it really is a small world!

I'm looking, like my dad mentioned, to go to UC (University of Cincinnati) and might major in teaching... preferably some form of history. That way I don't have to worry about grammar and spelling as much!

High School History Teacher......be still my heart.

I love teaching h.s. history. However spelling & grammar does matter for all those history papers you'll have to write in college. And don't forget all those history papers you'll make your students write.

I "WONDER" if we'll get many teachers on this cruise like this past year. I think most teachers are ready to vacation as soon as school gets out. I just hope none of my students show up on the cruise. I love them but....there's a reason for summer vacation.

Remind me to tell you guys about the student who showed up on my honeymoon!!!

Thanks for coming to my defense, Mary. Truth be known, he privately admitted on the cruise that the list was helpful...so either he's forgotten or he's afraid to admit it publicly. LOL

We've only cruised 3 times all Eastern b/c we love our sea days. We've got a 3 day booked for next May.

Now if I can just find an excuse to book another cruise before AK I could actually be silver tier for the CC. I may be begging for someone to steal me a Mickey rice krispie treat from the reception.

Oh, to be Platinum....

We're gold, having sailed 5 times already. By the time Alaska is complete, we'll be up to 8.

How is everyone doing? We are waiting for our first taste of fall! I look at folks at sporting events in the North and see them all with jackets. I do admit I get a little jealous.

I've been reading a travel book on Alaska. It seems like there is lots to do. I hope Disney gets some really good excursions planned. I want to zip-line! Who knew Alaska had rainforest??? I saw that one of the tour companies in Skagway offers golf. DH was real interested in that one. And I think we will be in Skagway for almost 12 hours.

Anyone want to speculate on what the excusions will be???

Hi, Janie!

Our summer in Cincinnati has been cooler than normal...averaging around 10 degrees cooler. That trend seems to be continuing this autumn...we should have highs in the 70's, but we're struggling to hit 60.

In all of the "promotional stuff" (i.e. YouTube clips, DCL website, notifications, etc.) that I've seen to date, it appears that many of the usual "cruise excursions" may be available. For example, the announcement by Karl Holz at D23 Expo (and, I think, the DCL website) show a pic of the Yukon Pass & White Line Railroad out of Skagway (which we took in 2006 on HAL). I also saw whales, glaciers, totem poles, and floatplanes (to name a few).

I'm with ya on the zipline! If I could only get my "will be 18 y.o. at sailing" son to brave the heights of a zipline. One thing I really do hope they have is a dogsledding excursion. This was available to us back in '06, but seemed a little too pricy and "adventurous" for my 66 y.o. mother.

Oh...there's a thread already that shows the Wonder post-drydock. It looks like the Quiet Cove pool may have been semi- or fully enclosed in advance of Alaska '11.

Drew - according to this morning's sports page in the newspaper, it is Ryan Perrilloux's fault we lost on Saturday night . If he had not gotten kicked off the team two seasons ago, he would have been a senior. If you have a minute, check out an article written by 'laney' at www.2theadvocate.com. It tells the whole story, according to him.

And Florida returned all of their defensive line from their championship team. They are good. But it doesn't stop me from rooting against them no matter who they are playing, except maybe Alabama, but that's another story

We have a 'bye' week so Miles will regroup and we'll see what happens the rest of the season. When we won the championship in 2003, we lost to Florida, so.......................
