June 14, 2011 - Father's Day on the Wonder in ALASKA!

Just curious, did any of you miss out on some DCL Alaska merchandise like I did? We were told the first night that they were out of Alaska magnets, Totems, ornaments etc. becasue the shipment didnt make it to Vancouver in time...I wrote to DCL after the trip advising them of this (and praising our servers and room steward of course), and they called me to apologize but insisted the ship had in fact received the shipment and had all of the Alaska merchandise for our cruise, except for a few sizes in shirts.

Just wondering if anyone had a similar issue....

I had seen the totem pole with the characters {not the one that is a picture holder and has the clip at the top - I got that one} on one of the boards before we left. And I really wanted one. Asked about it in the gift shop one night early in the trip and was told they were all out of them and didn't know when they would get more - maybe July ??? So I didn't ask again but did check on the couple of times we visited the store again.

That was an interesting response from DCL. You would think they would not want to miss an opportunity for people to purchase "tangible memory" items.

We still had a wonderful time and I look at the pictures I have displayed at work everyday and wish I was there .

I wanted the totem for my disney loving pet sitter! At least it left more room in the luggage for other stuff!

I was looking for the totem pole, too. But I didn't ask about it.

When we did the Baltic last summer, I wanted a stuffed Mickey to give my 3rd cousin's 2 yr old that we were meeeting for the first time (my cousin, too) but the ship was out of them. I asked and they said they should be getting more when we ported in Germany and if they did, they would let me know. The morning after Germany, I had a call that they had one set aside for me.
