You better. I've been bugging you to call since we got off the Magic on 12/26!

As for FEs and meets - the meets on our last cruise seemed rather loosly planned, and we never managed to make one (I think there were theroetically 3). But the FE exchange was fun! One thing I learned on this trip, though - if you're in an FE exchange, make sure to make an on-ship meet to get any last-minute cabin number changes!

On our last cruise, we had our DisMeet at 3PM on the day of boarding. Aside from 1-2 families that arrived to the ship around that time, we found that to be a convenient timeslot for most.

At this point, we also plan to do FE's. Like Jim & Amanda, we're doing a back-to-back (although ours is 6/13 and 6/18). We may need to dedicate one suitcase just for FE & gifts!

This is my first post. I have been lurking for years. My dh and I got married 16 years ago at WDW and have been going back as much as we can since. Along the way we were joined by our 2 ds ages 14 and 9. This will be our first cruise and it is a surprise for my 14 yr olds 8th grade graduation. It is just as much a gift for me for living thru 8 years with the same teacher who I did not really get along with! I am counting the days. A big thank you to who ever is keeping track of the fish extender list. I will post my room number when we get it. I am not a big poster so you may not hear very much from me.

What is an FE?

Hi, LKFan. A FE is a "fish extender". Long story short, the "fish" is a metal mail holder outside of each cabin. People make (or buy) extenders...basically fabric with pockets attached that are suspended by a cord attached to a dowel rod.

For each cruise, those who wish to participate will buy/make token gifts for those involved in the FE gift exchange, and then surprise them with the gifts at various points throughout the cruise.

Last year, we received a lot of "local" items...i.e. homemade coasters with a felt state of Oklahoma glued on. It's fun let your creativity run wild!

Ann, welcome to the thread! I can assure you that you and your family will enjoy the upcoming cruise and cherish memories that will last a lifetime!

I don't think that an official "FE Organizer" has been selected...but I keep a list myself on Excel of everyone who's in the group for potential DisMeets, so I'll mark you down as an FE and make sure to tell whoever wins the "honor" of organizing.

On our 7-night last June, we had about 13-15 cabins participating, if I recall. My son and I decided to get one gift for each person in the cabin, and we spread out the deliveries over the length of the cruise.

However, it's up to each individual how they wish to participate. We had some cabins that brought one "per cabin" gift. Some brought a smaller item every night.

Last year, we set a deadline about 30 days in advance of the cruise, so everyone knew how many to make/buy. That seemed to work well.

In the end, it's about the fun and the surprise.

If you are not crafty just go on ebay and type fish extender in the search. I got a great one this way. I can be pretty handy with a glue gun but after Christmas all my craftiness is used up. I found some cute mickey, goofy and mini tattoos so we are going to put those in as well as some surprise item! I thought tattoos would work for boys, girls, parents, teens and couples! Also, by having them in main disney characters it seems like both genders would like them.

Hi everyone!

I just finished my cruise magnets! There were so many to choose from the cruise mag forum has at least 3 lists! My fav is Ariel looking thru the port hole making fish face...so Ariel! And as the only girl in our group I also had to indulge with the princess making funny faces. The rest are boy/pirate Mickey themed. I even found one that says First Cruise with Chip and Dale! If you are in need of some Disney magic I suggest looking thru some...even if you just save them to print later.

This will be my 2nd cruise, but 1st Disney cruise and my husband's first cruise! I got sea sick on my last cruise (to Hawaii) so I am hoping to have a different experience this time. Our room is right in the middle of the ship and I have sea bands that hopefully will help.

Me, hubby, DD8 and DS4 will be double-dipping on this one with everybody! We are SOOO excited--this is our first cruise ever! Hubby and I will also be celebrating our 13th (my lucky number heehee) anniversary onboard. I can't imagine a better place to spend it.
