June 13 2010 5 Night Bahamas - Double Dip

Welcome! This is our first cruise ever also! I have found a lot of grat info on these boards! Read backwards on this list or do a search for fish extenders and see if that is something your family would like to do. We have had fun making cruise magnets for our stateroom door..warning its kinda habit forming!
Enjoy and welcome aboard!

Well, I finally did it and booked this one. So we'll be doing the June 8 and then this cruise back-to-back. Woohoo. They got us the same cabin as well which is great.

So, would any of the other 8 year old girls like to exchange email or letters with my daughter? She takes awhile to make friends and it always seems like it's the end of the cruise when she finally is friends with someone and then we have to leave :(

Congrats, Jim! We're doing a back-to-back as well, but we'll be doing this cruise and the one immediately following (Father's Day sailing). We're glad to have you aboard!

I just saw a list of Disney movie release dates, and Toy Story 3 is releasing 6/18! From what I understand, they *always* show the movie on their cruises at midnight on premEAR night! :cool1:

It is the last night of the cruise, though, so I do wonder if they'll do it - usually they're closing up shop and starting to clean for the next set of guests. It would certainly be really cool, though, if they did! I'd stay up to watch it - though I bet it would make debarkation the next morning go slower - those 6am breakfasts would be hard to get to! :rotfl:

I'm keeping my fingers crossed! They have 3D in both theaters on the ship, so maybe we'll luck out! I think I'd much rather see it in the Walt Disney Theater on the Wonder than somewhere locally.

so jealous of you back to back cruisers!

I'm sure there's room for you to return with us on the 18th! :thumbsup2

I'm looking forward to three days at CC!

We've already booked our excursion for this one. We decided (since DS is a history nut) that we're doing the Fort & Junkanoo excursion in Nassau. We'll snorkel on the second Nassau stop.

Hope everyone is doing well!

3 months before we sail. How many of us are there? Where is everyone from?

Deb & Ken, Lauren (11) and Ryan (turning 8 the day we sail)

I'm soooo ready for this vacation! Fell asleep last night watching the DCL DVD...and slept very soundly! :cloud9:

Welcome Deb! I was wondering the same thing? Are you going to do the Fish extender? I am getting worried there will only be 15 of us and we will have the ship to ourselves :). We are from Texas. How exciting to have a set sail birthday.

We are on this cruise as well. My husband and I, our sons (11 &9), dtrs (17, 5, 2) and dtr's boyfriend (19). I had never heard of FE's until today, but want to join in.

Hi All,

It's been a while since I've logged on- we were one of the first posters SOOO many months ago! Been happy and excited ever since I made our Palo reservations on Monday... I can't wait, can't wait, can't wait! :goodvibes

This is our fourth cruise, but we've never done FE's before, so I'd love to give that a go. The magnetic white board seems like a great idea...

The two DS's (17 and 11), plus DD (9), DH and four DGrandParents are busy getting their wardrobes together... while the DD is really looking for some girlfriends onboard.

I'm just looking forward to my lounge chair on Castaway Cay!
Vicki

Does anyone have any links to the double dip navigators? I was hoping to get an idea of what activities were happening!
Thanks!

we are getting closer!
my DH and I (26 and i'm 24) are from central Mississippi. my parents are joining form New orleans

I mentioned before that we're up for it but, as this is our first Disney Cruise, I don't want to be the person to organize it.

I've had this cruise booked for a year and a half. Jumped online as soon as my 75 days rolled around, and Palo brunch is already full!! Wanted that to be our anniversary meal :( Sooo disappointed.

Keeping some hope that we can book on board, but wanted to avoid the running around. So much for early planning.

I also was sad that our dolphin swim was sold out and Palo brunch! UG. I was also thinking about trying to upgrade at port or hoping for an upgade but it looks like our cruise is almost sold out. No 5's or 6's left! We are in 6004 right now...but that could change anytime.
This is my first Disney cruise so like the other first timers I am unsure about organizing fish extender. However, if no one else steps up i will rather than not have it at all. Is it time to pack yet?:rotfl:

Hi, all!

Having participated in FE's in the past, DS (Matthew, aka Smileneyesson) and I will be happy to organize the FE list for this cruise. To do so, I'd like to make the following suggestions:

1) Let's set a cutoff date for participation. How does May 1st sound? This way, those who are participating will have enough time to plan for purchase of items, supplies, etc.
2) Last year we created a spreadsheet which worked out really well. We'll be happy to forward that to those interested. If you'd like to be included, please PM me with the following information:

  • DisBoard Name
  • E-mail Address (for spreadsheet)
  • Names of Adults
  • Names and Ages of Kids
  • Stateroom #
  • Hometown, if desired

Please provide me with one entry for each stateroom participating for your group...that way I can list in the spreadsheet accordingly.

Finally (although not part of the actual FE exchange), please let me know if you'd be interested in a Day 1 "DisMeet". We have found that around 3PM typically works well for many people...it's prior to the muster drill, but allows enough time to socialize. We've had ours in the Promenade Lounge in past years, and in staterooms in others. I'd be happy to hear everyone's thoughts.

Thanks!
--Drew
