The Sail away party had to be moved indoors due to lightning near-by. The atrium and all the balcony area on the floor above were packed and the energy was still amazing. The crew did an awesome job getting everybody hyped up and set the stage for an awesome cruise. Oddly enough, the weather for the rest of the cruise was absolutely beautiful! Dark clouds would approach every now and then but seemed like they knew not to mess with Disney. :cool2: The lightning passed quickly and some light rain continued but people worked their way to the decks as the ship left the port. We were fortunate to get a view of several dolphins playing as we watched from Deck 10. It was quite amazing!

The ship did some horn chatting with a RCC ship as we pulled out. That was fun to listen to. My ds (4) said, "the boats are talking to each other."

We returned to our room to get ready for the safety drill. We were happy to have our assembly point be Animators Palate ...inside and nice and cool. Those life vests were hot as it was. My DS fell asleep during the talk. His head rested nicely on the wide foam. ;) I got a really cute picture of him, but due to my low number of posts, it doesn't seem to let me put in pictures. (If anyone knows how to do it another way, I'm all game)

The Other Party...(although to me the whole cruise was one big party:dance3: ) Pirates in the Caribbean Party: we're not into the Pirate thing so we took our time at supper and got up to deck 10 just in time for the fireworks. We had the perfect spot. With no idea which direction they were going to go off and the huge crowd, we were pushed back to the outer railing. Low and behold the fireworks went off right in front of us. We had the front row seats. Considering the fact they are shot off of the ship, the fireworks were very nice. Don't expect a 4th of July extravaganza though. Afterward we talked that it would have been nice if they figured out a way to do a Mickey head with 3 circular ones. Oddly, when I printed my pictures there was one set that looked like the Mickey that we must not have noticed at the time. On purpose or coincidence, only Disney knows.
That was all the kids wanted to do at the pirate party so we headed back to our rooms.

The Shows
We had late seating for dining, so we got ready for the first show, a magician who was more of a comedian than magician for this show anyway. The DD and DS opted to try out the Oceaneer club that night instead of the show which ended up being a good choice for them. This guy (his name escapes me right now) was FUNNY :rotfl2: I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. O.k. maybe I don't get out much, but he reacted to things that were going on in the audience...people getting up and leaving, or coming in late etc. I probably would have been completely embarassed if I was the center of attention like some of the other audience people, but they went along with it well it seemed.

The next night's show was Hercules the Muse ical. This show was probably my least favorite of the 4, but still very good. This show as with all the other shows, have awesome sets, costumes, and talent. It is amazing at what they can pull off on a cruise ship. Night 3 was the Golden Mickeys. I love the Disney classic movies so this recap of the movies was right up my alley. Oddly enough both of my children do not really like watching movies so they unfortunately haven't watched most of them even though I have a collection. :sad2: The last night, Disney Dreams was my favorite. The special effects which I won't go into detail as not to spoil it for others, was above and beyond expectations. To me this show was the perfect one for the 'finale' of the cruise. I did get pretty decent picts w/o flash of course, of these shows which help me to savor those moments.

I'll post my final installment tomorrow: Food, Pin Trading, Lessons Learned
By the way, since I am new at this, should I be adding to the same entries or posting new threads like I have been:surfweb: ?

You're doing a great job with your reports-I feel like I was there! Can't wait to read about the food :)
