June 1, 2012 Disney Dream FE Thread!

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :thumbsup2

Have a great cruise!

Rewhitingjr.

Thanks again for strating thread:thumbsup2

Is our group going to be called the Fish Hooks like I have seen other places or something else?I might do something personal so would be helpful to know.

If anyone is doing personalized gifts needing my kids names please pm me. My DH works in Forensic Social work and since he has contact with some not so nice people we never post pictures or names of our kids online.

I already have several ideas and getting really excited!:cool1:

Ok a poster on another thread hadn't heard of the Fish hooks nick name maybe I misread a post. Do we want to have a shorter nick name that would be easier for personalization?

This is my daughter's graduation / 18th b'day cruise. I think that we will both have a lot of fun with the FE!!!

Getting excited! Gathered a few things this weekend!

Just made my first attempt at something I am thinking of making... turned out ok - needs a little adjustment but I think it will work! I hope so because it's pretty cheap and I think I can crank them out once I figure out all the tricks!

I can't believe it - in 3 months we will be POST cruise! Have been waiting like a year and half already... can't believe it's so close! :)

Whatever your gift is, it will be appreciated! :thumbsup2

Time is flying by fast - we will be on the ship in no time. :woohoo:

Don't think of it as POST cruise ... think about scheduling your next Disney cruise while on board and then you get excited all over again. :rotfl2:

Our family gets ON the ship asking WHEN is our NEXT cruise! :rotfl2:

OK - busy working on gift 1 and getting addicted to it. I hope you guys like them as much as I have liked making them!

My questions is for the boys (young or old haha) - do your boys love/hate Star wars? Want to know since I can make a SW version of what i am making, but don;t want to give it to someone who does not like SW! :) Either way is ok...

Thanks!!!
Kim

Are you implying that there are people out there that don't like Star Wars???:scared1:
May the force be with them and influence them away from the dark side!

Girls like Star Wars too! My daughter (28) and granddaughter (10) love Star Wars. My daughter decorates her Christmas tree with Star Wars ornaments and my granddaughter is into lego Star Wars. :cheer2:

My preference as a guy is Star Trek (Live Long and Prosper) but Star Wars works for me too. :3dglasses

I consider myself a Trekker (a rational fan). Most Star Trek fans have adopted the term "Trekkers" in order to distinguish themselves as the true fans, versus the fad fans who continue to use the term Trekkies. (Is my geek showing?).

A Trekkie worships anything connected with Star Trek and would sell his or her mother for a pair of Spock ears. For myself, I am a Disney fanatic who secretly wishes he could grow mouse ears, live in Cinderella's castle and spends way too much money on Walt's stuff (D23, Resorts, Parks, Cruises, Disney Store ...). :rotfl:

I remember Gene Rodenberry giving a speech and using the term "trekkies" and someone in the audience shouting out "trekkers". He then said "it's Trekkies, I should know I started it."

Is this considered a hijack?:offtopic:

I think I am going to put a little Starwars and a Star Trek icon on our FE. Kind of like a hidden mickey.

You are correct that Gene Roddenberry allegedly made that statement in an early Star Trek Convention (Trekkies2 film documentary). I do not consider myself a Trekkie because I do not attend conventions, wear costumes or know the Klingon language. Trekkers have a life! For the record, I do own all the Star Wars and Star Trek DVDs, and enjoy watching them from time to time. :happytv:

I look forward to seeing your FE. You have inspired me to create a new cabin door magnet ...

Back on topic: we have less than two weeks before we close out the Fish Extender directory. Can everybody look on Page 1 / Post #2 and verifiy that your information is correct (spelling, preferences, etc). Let me know what needs to be changed. :thanks:

OMG that drawing is sooo funny. :rotfl2:First read this on my droid sans photo so missed the drawing.

Dont think its a hijack yet...just personality insite for FE crafters;)

Thank goodness my DH doesnt know I spelled Trekkies wrong the first post:upsidedow. His comment regarding the post here was "the great bird of the galaxy has spoken" Supposidly Trekkies will know that that means;)He considers himself a Trekkie. Old enough to be pre-next generation.

Anyhow we cant wait to meet folks just like us! Comfortable in their EARS. In my DH case usually vulcun ears by day, Mickey ears by night and on Vaca . :goodvibes

Think I got part of my FE gift down. Was starting to get worried with some of the things on the FE picture thread. Yikes people are crafty!

Aha! So you ARE lurking there! :) I knew my instinct was right to not post any pictures yet! :) I am out of control. My family is starving to death and wearing dirty clothes because I can't stop working on my FE gifts. I keep finding new ideas and then I'm like - sure, add that to the list! Someone needs to stop me.

BUT it is SO FUN! I haven't crafted much recently due to always having more "important" things to do (you know, like feed the kids...). I am SO enjoying getting back to it. Mine aren't as spectacular as the things on that thread, but I am pretty happy with them!

And I still need to figure out how to sew the actual FE! And door magnets.... oh my. This is how I get about shirts too when we are going to WDW. Good thing I have an understanding husband!

OK promised myself I would get off at 11 so I can get some cleaning done... maybe then I can craft while I watch the Gators tonight! :)

Oh and our info on #2 is good.

Thanks!!!!
Kim
