Hiya fellow 6/1 cruisers! Are you flying in the night before...if so, where are you staying?

As Sandy said Welcome! I have been out of town so I just added you to the first post.

We are flying in the day before. I do not want to take any chances.

Well guys... I guess we are jumping ship.

We booked last Jan. 07, 2 rooms. My parents' health isn't good enough at this point, we kept hoping they would get better but they aren't, and we were doing multi-generation.
WE took my parents and 4 of our 6 children on Disney to Mexico in 05 and we all loved it. So we booked way out. My dad has Parkinsons and his health is such that he doesn't want to be gone for a week. My DS who just turned 18 had wanted to do Alaska this summer as a graduation present and he just finished his Eagle Scout project for Boy Scouts.

This summer will be our last summer vacation with DS18, as he will be leaving next year to serve a mission for 2 years. He wanted to do Alaska, and Disney doesn't go there, and my parents had me cancel theirs. DS 15 is very sad and so am I. So I checked Alaska, and I got a Veranda for 4 of us, and airfare included to Alaska, for $1800. less than my Cat.8 to Mexico....

WEll, I struggled for Days on that one, WE are Disney fanatics, we have DL Annual passes. But bottom line almost $2000. was just too hard to pass up. We could even get a mini suite with airfare, for $1200. less, so in the end, we went for the better budget.
WE have never done Princess, I know it won't be Disney, but Alaska is beautiful. We have done Alaska twice before on Celebrity, and LOVED it.
I don't Love mexico, but I love Disney, so we were going to love it.

So I just thought I should tell all of you, have a wonderful trip. I wish so much I was going with you, if money was no object, we would just do both but our budget won't allow that.
I will miss you...Please have fun.. I may even ask someone to get me a Captain Mickey PVC toy for my grandchildren.

Now, I am over on cruise critic, so I can learn about Princess. WE don't know anything about Princess.... but we will learn..

Take care.
Judy

:wave2: Bye Judy and family... sorry to see you go, but totally understand the circumstances... and I'm like you.. don't particularily LOVE Mexico, but couldn't resist being on DCL without having to take that long flight to Florida. Have a great time on your cruise. :flower3:

Thanks
I really am having a hard time of this, I really want to go. We had a 5 hour drive to San Pedro, or an 1hr 50min flight to Seattle. Yes, it is much better than flying across to Florida to cruise Disney, but when I looked into cruises in Jan. or Feb. we could cruise and still pay airfare for still less than Mexico....
:confused3 So...
Have fun....

karl021... I NEVER thought I would hear myself saying this but here goes...
I sincerely pray that you have to cancel this cruise!
Congratulations.

I feel for you! It seams like that is the only kind of snow we have been having here in IL. Today it is raining and by the end of the week they are saying snow. I want warm weather and spring.

Thanks for feeling my "pain." Tomorrow it will be 45, then 50 and snow again on Wed...you would think I would be used to it since I have lived here all of my life...:umbrella:

Same here! I have lived here my entire life to. But I don't think you ever get used to it. All you have to do is waite a day any you will probibly get the weather you want.

Ok! We are now officially at the 90-day mark. I made my Palo reservations. I could not get 7:00 on the first sea day. They were already gone. I got 6:30. :) I also made the Zip Line reservation for my DH and DS on Cabo. When they are on that I did a manicure for my self. :cool2: On one of the other sea days I did a brunch at Palo. Not sure if I am going to keep that but I got it while I could.;)

Did any one else make reservations?:woohoo:

Take care

I'm going to pay Wednesday and reserve excursions as soon as I can.

We're thinking of the Best of Mazatlan, the Private Island in Puerto Vallarta and the Resort day in Cabo.

What's the best day to do Palo? We want a sea day.

I apologize I have not been active on this thread-I will try to get better. We have added a guest to our reservation-my children's grandmother (Is that a DG?). We are very excited for her, as she has never been on a cruise! My DS (almost 10) & DD (8) do not know yet-I'm not sure when Grandma will tell them!! I am really looking forward to this trip-it will be great memories for my 2 children.

I have read about the reports of snow-where I live we also received a storm as well yesterday-lightning, thunder, ice, & snow. On Saturday, it was a beautiful day with mid 60 degree temperatures. I am looking forward to warmer weather.

I was online at 11 pm CST last night to make Palo reservations, etc. I checked again this am and there are still Palo ressies available, for those who have not done it yet. It seems this process worked better this time vs 2 years ago.

One question I have-is there someone I need to PM regarding fish extenders, etc. I don't know our room # yet as we are GTY since we added Grandma. Please let me know what I need to do. Thanks & have a great day!:)

:cool1:On Saturday my family a few friends (14 of us) went to see Walt Disney's Dream Suite in Disneyland. A special Thank You to Flo/wltdsnyfan for telling me about this special tour. It was so exciting to tour thru it because I know I will probably never be able to afford to actually stay there. :sad2: It is very beautiful, and has lots of magical moments and suprising features. There is a 24 hour concierge of 2 people that are there just waiting to fulfil your every wish. I have a few pictures if anyone wants to take a look.

I was going to post the pictures but I have to take my DH to the ER... I'll post when I get back.

Ok! Most important why are you taking your DH to the ER? Hope he is ok.:grouphug:

Did they give out any goodies to the people that toured?

YOu know I want to see the pictures it is Disney.

As I was posting last night, my DH came home and this is what he showed me!... :scared1:
IMGP8600.jpg

Apparently he "bumped" his arm at work and he was bleeding inside...
the ER doctor poked a needle in his elbow and drained some of the blood and then just wrapped it and told him to take it easy and NOT to lift anything heavy for a few days... she might as well of chopped his arm off... he NEVER listens to doctors and went to work today anyway...
He just called and said his arm is very sore and HURTING?! (Imagine that?) :rotfl:

Ok...
here are the pictures of our Disney Dream Suite tour...
Everything is BEAUTIFUL... the pictures do not do justice to the place.
and yes, we were given goodies...
A DVC Member hat,
A Timon "Heard the best kept Disney Secret?" DVC pin
A DVC DVD and
A "Portable PERKS" booklet detailing the discounts you get as a DVC member at all the Disney hotels, parks and dining.

This is the Blue Oval that is at the foot of the stairs letting you know that you are in the right place....
There are several friendly CM waiting there to help you.

IMGP8487.jpg

This is the PRIVATE "secret" elevator that take you to the suite.
IMGP8488.jpg

This is our guide... Diane.. she was pleased that Disney placed letter D's for Diane all over the suite to make her feel at home.
IMGP8496.jpg

This is the ACTUAL scounce, not a replica, hand picked by Lillian Disney for this suite..
IMGP8495.jpg

This is the master bedroom.. called the Adventure Land room
it has a king size bed and is done in blues, teals, and has LOTS of magic in here...
IMGP8501.jpg

This is the "Good Night Kiss" button...
There is one in each room....
We were told that when they push this... lots of magical things happen in the room... stars appear on the ceiling, mermaids appear in the picture above the bed, music, more pictures on the wall appear... LOTS more, can't remember everything...:confused3
IMGP8508.jpg

This is the mirror and fireplace in the beautiful parlor...
They both change during the "Good Night Kiss"

More on the next post....

Oh My Goodness. How in the world did you get to do that? I would probably faint I would be so so so excited. I can't even imagine how incredible that would be. Just even taking the Walk in Walts Footsteps tour and getting to go into the lobby of club 33, I was just in awe. I have wanted to go there for years.
HOW were you lucky enough to do that? Let me know if there is some secret I would love to know..

Flo let me know about it...
We are DVC members (Disney Vacation Club) and apparently they did a random lottery type emailing and invited people to tour the suite. I did not get the email, but my daughter and I called and asked and GOT an appointment! And we each could bring 5 friends/family members and the babies didn't count so we were 14 all together.
And yes, we were all about to pee ourselves with excitement. :yay:
We LOVE Disney and this was SO special for us.
:grouphug: THANKS again to Flo for letting me know.
