June 1, 2008 7-Night Mexican Riviera Cruise All Aboard is now back on Land

Hello Everyone!:dance3:

Sandy, What did the doctor say? Hoping for good news.

Cindy, Hello!

Well... there's good news and there's bad news...

First the good news... :thumbsup2
the doctor agreed that I need an MRI and is scheduling one for me..
they will call me when to come in.

Now the bad news...
The Bad News is that he told me NOT to expect to be able to walk for 6 to 8 weeks!

But the GOOD good news is that I WILL walk.

My family and I are always quoting lines from movies to each other when a situation arises that seem to fit the occasion...
We do so in the exact same tone and dialect as from the movie.
...So when I first injured my leg I said to my DS...

"This kikuyu wants to be sick now" (from "Out of Africa")

He said to me..."you must go to hospital" (from "Out of Africa")

My DD said to me ..."Sorry Steve, that leg's going to have to come off" (from "Multiplicity"):rotfl2:

When do you go for your MRI?

Six to Eight weeks off your leg:sad2: oh no! That is going to be hard to do. I know for me it would drive me crazy!:upsidedow So now you can:happytv: eatpopcorn:: and :coffee:. I am sure you will be:hourglass the time till you can be back on it.

I will keep my finges crosed and pray that the MRI comes out the way you want.

You could work on your scrappbook to. At leat the Cruise is 10 months away. You have time there.

I'm still waiting for the x-ray office to call me with an appointment.

I sit at my desk all day now.. supervising the kids, working on the computer, and answering phone.
When I'm not holding one of the babies, I manage to scrap a few pages while I"m sitting here during nap time. So I might manage to finish my 2005 cruise book after a few more weeks of this Non-Ambulatory stage of my life.:rolleyes1...

One thing's for sure... IF I had a walking brace, I'd look like a
pirate:. :lmao:

Hey Fellow Disney Nuts!:dance3:

I just checked DCL site and are stateroom went up another 300.00.!::rolleyes1 That is a total of 600.00 this month. I also checked the Cat 6 and they are now GTY. It must be selling out fast.

Oh how I want to go now.:cool1:

Hello everyone. I am Calpacagal's husband I just wanted to introduce myself to the group. I've been spending the last few days skimming over the 25 pages and I gotta say, the more I read, the more excited I get.

Just to catch up: I love the chandelier. I love the drawer pulls. I also was moved by the "good bye" photos. I hope the leg is alright (I could feel the pain). My DW and I want to start getting our cruise things together now!

Hope this finds the rest of the group well.

Martin

:welcome: Martin :welcome: Glad to see you on here.
Have you & DW cruised with Disney before now?
This will be our 3rd Disney cruise and we love it and can't get enough.
Too bad we don't have a Castaway Cay out this way...
maybe they will buy an Island out here and keep the Magic here from now on...

I heard rumors! :rolleyes1

Hi everyone:wave2:
Nice to hear from you Martin and WELCOME to our little chatparty:
Sorry for going underground for awhile, I just haven't been myself lately:sick: Nothing that a pirate cruise won't fixpirate:
:

Glad to be here. We actualy cruised last year (First Disney Cruise - 4 night WONDER 7/30/06) and there was no turning back. I can't imagine not having a Disney cruise every other year. (if not more often) It's true what they say: "It's Magical".

I'm at work right now so I get a chance to check back to the board every so often.

Welcome Calpacagal's husband(Martin) !

Thanks for the kind words about the chandelier and drawer pulls. I wanted to being a little of Disney into the house since we all love Disney, but I wanted it to be suttle.

This will be are 4th cruise. Like you we did a 3 day, 4 day and a 7 nightwestern. ON the 7 night western we joined DVC. Now we are doing the & night Riviera weith are points. We just had to pay for my DS.

I do agree with you, I don't hink I could do any other cruise and we try to cruise every other year to. My son graduates college in 2008. SO once he is done we are hopeing that we can cruise every year. With him in school this is not possible. He playes basebell for school and they always do a spring trip. So we need one week for there and one week for WDW or a cruise.

Sandy,
I would think with the 2 new ships that they would put one in CA. So I do agree I think Disney will find a private island. So when that happens I guss we will have to come back to CA.
How is the leg?

Just when I think I'm doing really well, I go and accidently stretch or flex and "PULL" something in my knee again! :sad2:
Plus, I keep "testing" it every once in a while as I find it so hard to believe that I REALLY can't use it!
I've never been incapacitated before and its really strange to NOT be able to do something so simple as STAND on my own feet! :sad2:

Cindy... I KNEW something was not "right" with you.
pixiedust:
Here is some pixie dust to help get you back to your normal cheerful happy sunny self again.

Sandy,
Oh No! You have to stop doing that!:) But I can understand that. When I had my inners taken out I was restricted to no steps so I had to stay on one level of the drove me nuts. I can not imagine not being able to do do any thing. You can only watch so much :happytv: . But when you want to do that again remember you have the :boat: and you have a Grand-Daughter to play with.

take care

It's 4:00am and all is well. I'll be getting off work soon and I had to check in to see the latest.

Sandy, take care of that knee. As for things to do, TV all day would be the greatest. Travel channel, Discovery channel, Food network, etc. Maybe rent (or borrow from your local library) a whole season of your favorite show. Imagine watching a marrathon from show #1. Break out the old VHS tapes and enjoy those movies that you forgot you had.

Are crutches an option? Maybe a little pool action with floaties? it can give the rest of your body some movement while keeping your bad leg imobile. (with a brace of course)

Have a great day on Friday, all. I'll be happy to see my family when they wake me up in the morning. (Isn't that the greatest?) :goodvibes

Hahahaha...That sounds great, but no, I can't do any of that until the weekend. I would love to watch whatEVER I want on tv... but I run a daycare and I am one of those lucky people that gets to watch Disney Channel and Disney movies all day long. Nothing else. And at night I still have a house full of out of town company so we are all in the den watching a movie or just chatting. Last night we were up past midnight talking and looking at old family pictures. Crutches... I have them and they SUCK
bigtime. My underarms are SO sore!..
I also have a wheelchair which is great as long as I stay in the den as it is "sunken" from the living room, so I'm trapped in there. I do get to sit at my desk and monitor the computer and webcam and talk to parents as they need information and check the DCL site.
I get to do some accounting and some scrapbooking. I stay busy, just pissed that I can't jump up when I want and move EVERYwhere like I tend to do. I have to rely on my DH and DD and DM to do everything that I normally do and I just get to supervise or dictate... which sounds nice, but you get tired of that real quick.
