Am I the only one that is worried this cruise will be a ghost ship?

The good news, we were just informed we were ungraded from our Cat 11 inside, to the .... Roy Suite.

I guess I can start by introducing my group.

Myself .. Richard early 50's
Wife .. Heloisa early 40's
Daughter .. Hannah age 11
Son .. Kevin age 10
Daughter .. Aliisa (grown up)
Grandma .. (also grown up)

Veterans of one 7 day eastern cruise

We live in Kissimmee Florida and the kids go to school literally across the street from the main entrance to WDW. ("awww mom! Do we have to go to the Magic Kingdom agaaaaain???")

Both Hannah and Kevin would like to meet some friends online that are going on this cruise.

I'm still up for a pre cruise WDW get together if we can get this thread working and find a few cruisers that would like to do that. Maybe in April?

Yeah, it really sounded crazy to wake up in the middle of the night for this, but it did pay off this time. I'm so glad I made myself do it. We actually had 3 staterooms to book, so my sister and I worked together using 3 computers, 3 logins and 3 reservation #s to get everyone the excursions. It was madness, but we worked quick and got most of what we wanted. When you are spending so much for a trip, the excursions just become that much more important, particularly with the ports we are visiting. I guess you could always schedule things on your own, but we prefer to use the DCL excursions.

I would be really mad too if nothing was left for me. I'm sure they are going to have to add more things, but maybe they can't guarantee availabilily for all the tours that were originially offered.


We were SO exhausted yesterday from being up all night, but it was worth it.

I have a Razr from Verizon and that will not work in Europe. Need at least a dual band phone even if your carrier does cover Europe. Then I looked into renting a phone. That would cost over $70 for 10 days and I have to return it!!

So, I then found a phone that you can buy for $50 and you get the SIM card, the phone, and voltage adapters for different countries. You do not have a monthly service charge. Your assigned a UK phone number and your charged only when you use the phone. I actually upgraded to the higher priced phone because we cruise often and I have clients in Europe and it will work all over the world with the upgrade plus I can call from the U.S.. The standard phone will work all over Europe and several other countries.

Hi dawn ... Will your son be closer to 12 or 14? My daughter will be going on twelve ( grade 7 ) and has told me she hopes to meet someone that can show her the Teen club. The pharmaceutical companies should invent a pill that keeps puppies, kittens and kids young longer... They grow up way too fast.

but if ur daughter is going on the disney she cant go in the teen club unless she is thirteen. n i talked to one of the people from the ship management and they said under 12 they cant get in. but she said if u wanna get in u may have to talk to the people on the ship. my daughter is going on 13 n she cant get in so we have to talk to the people about it but the girl form the ship management said that they are VERY VERY strick! so we have to try to get her to go with her brother

Hi Dawn M - Sorry I haven't been back since I first posted. My two sons are 12 and 15 now, so they'll be 13 and 16 when we cruise next year. Yes, Freedom of the Seas is the new Royal Caribbean ship. We were on the maiden voyage June 4-11. We had a great time, but spent the first few days saying "they don't do this like Disney" and "Disney does this better". After we settled in, we loved the ship, especially the H20Zone. My kids didn't enjoy the kids activities as much as they have on Disney which surprised me because I thought maybe they were getting too old for Disney. I guess I've raised them right and they'll never be too old for Disney! I'm hoping that at 13 and 16 my sons we be able to appreciate Europe, but we'll see. Maybe we'll get some more people who are traveling on June 6th on this thread. Nice to meet you, now I'm off to work.

Hello to all of our future shipboard mates! My husband and I have taken many Disney cruises and found them to all be top notch. Whatever the Mouse is involved with will be funtastic! Hubby and I are sitting on 60 years old and this cruise will be part of our 7 week European fling to celebrate our 39th wedding anniversary. We leave the States to begin our trip on May 1.

Just so i can get my postings in, this is our second cruise....i love everything DISNEY, especially the cruise!!! I can NOT wait!!!! I do not even really care about the silly ports, and trust me, that is saying a lot. I just want to get back on the boat, and honestly, NEVER leave. I wish we had the time to do the atlantic crossing, i am jeoulous. Again, see you on board!!!

Question though, did anyone have any luck finding an apartment for rent. We have such a big group, and having to find a million rooms that sleep only two people, NOT going to work. Any suggestions.....

i think that sounds like fun. we are getting into bcn a day before, and trying to do the chocolate museum. what are you guys doing??? we will also be there one day after the cruise as well...

i just found the mailer from disney from a year ago announcing this cruise!! i remember when we got that thing that we all just drooled over the thought. and now, it is a reality. i am so excited.

by the way joe, if you are reading this, hello!!! and for the rest of you, joe is actually older than what i posted on who all is going with our party.....oh well, we still love him!!
