Yes, it's smaller around the lake at CSR. I believe it's 9/10 of a mile around.

we stayed at CSR for the first time last may/june for 10 nights and really liked it as well. The pool area is among the best at all of disney world. The lake is smaller than the one at CBR. I walked around the whole thing in about 15 minutes(nice slow pace). We stayed in cabanas 8A. can't remember the actual room number, but, we were 30 seconds to the dig site, 30-45 seconds from the parking lot or bus stop and about a 3 minute walk to El Centro. also, we were right next to the laundry facility and one of the quiet pools. We were plesantly surprised at how centrally located CSR was and in our opinion it has the best transportation to and from that we've experienced at a disney resort. we are booked for POFQ next month and I'm starting to wonder whether we should have just went back to CSR again?
We enjoyed the breakfast buffet at Maya grill. Pepper market has it's goods and bad, but, overall it was pretty good. I would have liked to see the snack bar at the dig site remain open a little later. It closed at 6pm; right about dinner time. It was overall an awesome resort and we will go back again.

Before I went (and I'd seen tons of pictures!!!!), I thought it was like CBR where you can't see everythng from the lake. I was very surpirsed when I arrived at CSR, that from El Centro I could see the dig site (the top of the pyramid) acros the lake. I saw the Cabanas to the right and ranchos to the left of the dig site (some are hidden) and then all of the Casitas to the left of El Centro.

There is bridge from the dig site area to the El Centro side, so you don't have to walk aroudn by the Cabanas to get around the lake.
Like I said earlier in the thread, I would just plan out your day so you aren't walking back and forth constantly and take buses from where you are.

When you first enter CSR, the entry way is lots longer than at CBR and when you walk in and see that gorgeous fountain, look up or you could miss the painted dome ceiling! Lots of beautiful tile work all over the resort. You MUST walk all around and through the buildings at least once (so many cute fountains in Casitas). My mom didn't do this. She stayed in Casitas and her opinion was that all the sections were the same. WHAT!!!!!!??????????? If you don't walk all through the Ranchos, you are REALY missing out!

I think where things go wrong in the Pepper market is that it is NOT at all a foodcourt, but really more of a cafeteria style restaurant. You are seated, your drink order is taken and tehn you walk aroudnt eh pods and make your selections. Then you pay on the way out- sounds like a cafeteria to me. If you go with this in mind, then you will leave thinking -this is the BEST cafeteria I've ever seen!!! The theming in here is incredible! Well worththe 10%!!! No paper plates!!! No people getting up every minute to get napkins and such.

The pool---- very good slide. The one at CBR is not that great. Most people going down were under 10 years old. I felt silly using it. The pool has straight lines (very Aztec) and the playground is right there, with a sand area and kiddie pool. Nice,BIG hot tub!

Just a note: I don't dislike CBR at all. I love it and would go back in a heartbeat. CBR definitely has the edge on the rooms themselves (at least compared to Cabanas).

wow, that is great that you had such a great experience at Coronado!

thanks for the great report!! '

Laura :)

Hi all
We upgraded using codes found on this site from all star music to CSR and I am already glad we did. Thanks to all the good things everyone is saying.A honeymoon should be a special time and I think we found the place for that:jester:

Mulgar,

If honeymooning there, I would suggest a few things:
Request a kind bed and a water view. Have a drink in the lounge.
Plan to do the breakfast buffet at least once and I would even try the Maya Grill for dinner.
Relax in the hammocks. Walk around the lake. Rent watercraft and a surrey bike. Did I mention the hot tub? Spend some time in your quiet pool. Have fun!!! I stayed at the AS on my previous trip(with 3 kids in tow) and this place is a very far cry form the AS!!!!!
