Before I went (and I'd seen tons of pictures!!!!), I thought it was like CBR where you can't see everythng from the lake. I was very surpirsed when I arrived at CSR, that from El Centro I could see the dig site (the top of the pyramid) acros the lake. I saw the Cabanas to the right and ranchos to the left of the dig site (some are hidden) and then all of the Casitas to the left of El Centro.
There is bridge from the dig site area to the El Centro side, so you don't have to walk aroudn by the Cabanas to get around the lake.
Like I said earlier in the thread, I would just plan out your day so you aren't walking back and forth constantly and take buses from where you are.
When you first enter CSR, the entry way is lots longer than at CBR and when you walk in and see that gorgeous fountain, look up or you could miss the painted dome ceiling! Lots of beautiful tile work all over the resort. You MUST walk all around and through the buildings at least once (so many cute fountains in Casitas). My mom didn't do this. She stayed in Casitas and her opinion was that all the sections were the same. WHAT!!!!!!??????????? If you don't walk all through the Ranchos, you are REALY missing out!
I think where things go wrong in the Pepper market is that it is NOT at all a foodcourt, but really more of a cafeteria style restaurant. You are seated, your drink order is taken and tehn you walk aroudnt eh pods and make your selections. Then you pay on the way out- sounds like a cafeteria to me. If you go with this in mind, then you will leave thinking -this is the BEST cafeteria I've ever seen!!! The theming in here is incredible! Well worththe 10%!!! No paper plates!!! No people getting up every minute to get napkins and such.
The pool---- very good slide. The one at CBR is not that great. Most people going down were under 10 years old. I felt silly using it. The pool has straight lines (very Aztec) and the playground is right there, with a sand area and kiddie pool. Nice,BIG hot tub!
Just a note: I don't dislike CBR at all. I love it and would go back in a heartbeat. CBR definitely has the edge on the rooms themselves (at least compared to Cabanas).
