Jumping, Dancing & Jamming Our Way Through Walt Disney World! I'm With the Band Now!

River does the pressed pennies too. We bought him one of the books 2 or 3 years ago and he collects them everytime we go to Disney or somewhere else on vacation.

Thats a nifty backsack you have on there:thumbsup2

I didn't know they handed out samples of anything at the Disney candy stores. Thats good to know.

This was the second time that we have been given a sample in the Main Street stores. The other time was pieces of caramel.

I love those elephants playing in the fountain on the JC! I love the pressed pennies, I have a couple of them, I should make it a point to do more next trip, I hear they have books to keep them in.

They do have the books to keep the pennies stored in and they are pretty cheap too.

I'm so happy I didn't miss too many updates while gone. I was at MK on Thursday and it was n ice taking the walk with you again and reliving some of the things I had just done myself.

I am anxious to see and hear all about the things you did while on the trip.

I just had to reply to tell you how much I have enjoyed reading your TR! I am more of a reader....not a poster. I post some on another Dinsey fan site but not much on the Dis....(that will change).... Anyhoo....just wanted to let you know that I read this TR and your last one and enjoyed both of them so very much! Thanks for sharing! (PS....I live about 1 1/2 hours east of Knoxville so I'm not too far from your daughter...loved the wedding pics too by the way)

WELCOME! I love it when my readers post on my reports. If you haven't already, come on over to my pre-trip report. The link is n my signature below. I'd love to have you.

How very cool that you and Lacey live close to one another. She's been there since August and is just now really learning her way around. It's a much bigger city that the one she grew up in.

When i read about you carrying coins in the M&M tibes it reminde me of what happened a couple of years ago....my husbadn did that and he got stopped at the airport and taken aside.....I guess they thought it was an M&M bomb!

Oh no! I hope they quickly found out that it wasn't a bomb and just innocent coins.

I just love your pictures of random places and things at WDW! It helps chase away the Disney blues...:goodvibes

We discovered the fun of the pressed pennies on this trip. I do believe I will use your M&M container idea for our next trip. DH was looking at the little collector books for them, but we did not purchase any this time. Does Hunter have one of the books he collects them in? How big is his collection now? It really is a great and inexpensive idea for families who go on a regular basis. :thumbsup2

It was so much easier to carry the coins in the M&M tubs instead of just letting them roll around in the bottom of my purse or even having them ina coin purse.

Hunter does have one of the pressed penny books. Before this past trip, we only did the pressed pennies randomly so his collection is about 50 or so. Lacey used to collect the pins and she has about 400!

Chris likes collecting the pressed pennies also. It realy is hard for boys that age to find something. Madison nor Chris really got into the vinylmation thing and Chris really doesn't like anything that will just collect dust!

I have yet to see the Tiki Birds! I want to though! I enjoyed the Country Bears!!

It really is hard for the boys to find things to collect. Hunter also collects the little figures that come in packets. I wish I knew what they were called. They have them in most of the DTD stores and there are about 4 or 5 figures in a $5 packet.

I was a bit behind...

Love your red Mickey shirt! :cutie:

I enjoyed seeing the HM queue. When we were there last time they had it closed off. It wasn't crowded, so it wasn't needed, but I still wanted to see it. It looks really cool!

Love the pictures from atop the train station! Such a beautiful view up there! :wizard:

How many of those glass castles do you think they have sold? ;) I just can't imagine having that much money, but I'm sure someone, somewhere does!

Love free samples at the Confect. We got one of cotton candy and it was such a nice little surprise! That caramel apple looks pretty darn good! :thumbsup2

Cute bag you made too! You should make those for your FE gifts on the cruise. I'd sure love to get one if I was in your group!

I love the new Haunted Mansion queue so much so that we made John and Lacey go back with us later that night to see it.

I am sure there are some customers for those castles and carriages but I can't imagine that it would be something the mainstream customer could purchase.

Hi Lisa!:goodvibes

I finally made it back over here and I'm all caught up!:thumbsup2

I'm going to try to remember everything I want to comment on....

Love all your pictures in Snow White's Scary Adventure! I'm really sad that we never got to ride it.:sad2: At least we have the mine coaster to look forward to!

Thanks for posting the pictures of the new Winnie the Pooh and Haunted Mansion queues! Can't wait to see them in person!!:)

Yay for trying a Dole Whip!! That's on the very top of my must-do list.

We love Crystal Palace! I think they have such a great variety of food and how can you resist Pooh and friends!:goodvibes

I'm glad that we got that one last ride on Snow White before it closes. I think I read somewhere last week that we might actually get one more ride in this year before it's shut down for good.

Oh we'll definitely be stopping for another Dole Whip this trip! They are so delicious!

Alrighty! I think that I am finally at the point to where we had left the Crystal Palace and were about to find a spot to watch Wishes! I love Wishes and boo hoo like a little baby every time. I'm going to forewarn you now that I took a lot of pictures of the castle and of Wishes but the majority of them turned out either blurry or just okay. I'll try to restrain myself with the pictures:

Mama decided that she was done for the night but the rest of us certainly weren't. The park was open until 2:00 a.m. and we were determined to make the most of the extra hours. We walked towards the front of the park with Mama and when she stopped to take a bathroom break near City Hall, the Main Street Electrical Parade began. We found a spot right near the curb and started watching:

Mama came out about then and said that she was going to go back to the resort. I told her that I'd walk with her but she insisted that she would be okay and would call us when she got to the bus stop. We tried to volunteer for one of us to walk with her but she would hear nothing of it and told us to sit back and enjoy the rest of the parade:

I really don't know which parade I like best.....Spectromagic or Main Street Electrical Parade.

A bench behind us came open so we sat back and watched the people stream out of the park. It's the ultimate in people watching!

**Up next: Taking advantage of the Extra Magic Evening Hours!

Mama called while we were waiting for some of the people to clear out and said that she was about to get on the CBR bus and to just call her in the morning when we got up. We said that we would and decided it was time to head back into the park and enjoy those extra hours. From the looks of the pictures, we headed to Big Thunder Mountain first:

And then to the Haunted Mansion:

Even though neither John nor Lacey are fans of the Haunted Mansion, they both had to admit that the new queue was neat and that they liked the new hitchikers at the end of the ride.

We left Liberty Square and headed over to Fantasyland to see how long the line was for Peter Pan's Flight. I remember it being a little long but, since we wanted to ride, we hopped in line anyway:

Because we hadn't ridden Dumbo on our first Magic Kingdom day, we thought "why not?":

**Up next: I'm gonna do it! No I'm gonna do it! Get outta my way so I can do it!

I love the castle and Wishes pictures blurry or not! It makes me feel like I was just there!! I love Wishes but I also liked Nightastic and almost wish they would have something like that this summer...but that is me just having come back!! I love MSEP but in some ways I feel like I have seen it several times now and would like to revert back to Spectromagic just for a change. Does that mean I go too much?!

We hope to take advantage of EMH on our next trip. The kids are looking so forward to stay out until 3am!!

How are EMHs? Are they really crowded? We have always been told to stay away from EMH's, morning and evening, due to the large crowds that come with them. Since we are staying onsite this time***, I want to do them but I am scared to. My kids can handle late nights, so I was wondering if vampire touring( sleep in, up late at night) would be something we could do or if it would be worth it. We are usually early birds, make it to rope drop, out early afternoon for a nap, and then back at night. But since we can't use late FP's anymore, not sure if we want to stick to that kind of touring anymore.

***Our plans have changed again. We are still doing Universal June 2-June 8. I had planned on the kids and I going down a week early before the rest of the family and staying at POP for 2 days(no Disney parks, just wanted to be close to Mickey), then staying at Universal onsite for 4 days since we had the AP discount. Well, I got to thinking that 13 days at Universal would be overkill. So we are now staying at POP May 27-June 2. With the savings from not staying onsite at Universal, we are now able to go to Disney parks for 7 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am beyond excited. I will def. keep an eye out for you guys.

I could look at my blurry pictures all day long just so I get that Disney feeling. Heck, a blurry picture is better than the stuff I look at all day.

Ummm, if you go too much, then I've got the same excuse. I kinda wish they'd bring Spectromagic back for a while too.

Woohoo! More time at Disney! Love it! I don't think I could do 13 days at Universal knowing that Disney was just a few miles away.

We absolutely love the evening extra magic hours and take advantage of them every chance we get. The attractions are a little crowded during the first hour but after that, the crowds thin out considerably. To us, it's well worth being tired the next morning. We've only done extra morning hours a couple of times and it did seem to be busier. I guess there are more early risers than there are late stayers (is that a word?). Having said that, if you go to the water parks, the extra magic hours are great there. We were able to do everything at Typhoon Lagoon multiple times using the morning hours and were outta there by 1 or 2 p.m. when it started getting really crowded.

What are going to do??? Streaking?:rotfl2:

Heaven help all the other guests if we did!:rotfl2:

How fun that you guys were able to stick around after Wishes for EMH's! Were you able to last until 2am??

It was fantastic! We were able to last until 2:00 a.m. and would have stayed longer if they would let us.

I haven't ever seen Wishes. :guilty: Cortlyn melted down last year before Wishes and we didn't get to see them. We have TWO MK days this year and I'm REALLY hoping that I can make it for at least ONE show!

Holy Guacamole! I was WAY behind!!!

Great wedding pictures. I'm so happy your niece had a beautiful day. I agree with a previous poster, Lacey's short hair cut is really cute!

Love the Hidden Mickey rocks, complete with whiskers. I'm not sure I have noticed that before so thanks for pointing it out.

:cool1: on trying (and loving) the Dole Whip

Hunter took some great pictures at the treeshouse and then later at the train station. I love his pictures of the castle and main street. He must get his talent for photography from his mama!

They do indeed have that Steamboat correctly named. HOT!

Dinner at CP looks great! We enjoyed our lunch there, but it has been awhile (like 4 years) since we have eaten there.

We love the pressed pennies too. I am way too cheap to purchase expensive souveniers, so 51 cents fits the bill perfectly! You can find a list of the locations of all of the penny machines at Disney (and other places too) on the internet.

Great pictures of the parade and congrats for shutting down the park!

Going over to check on your PTR now.

Love the pictures!!:goodvibes There is nothing better than being at MK after dark! Everything is so pretty all lit up!

Wow! It looks like you are accomplishing quite a bit during EMH. We are thinking of trying them on our second MK day. I'm not sure how long the boys will make it though.:rolleyes1 But, it looks like so much fun!

We did 3am EMH while we were there last month. It was still very crowded. We had put off Space Mtn for EMH...big mistake. Lots of loud, obnoxious high school groups there and the wait ended up being 30+ minutes both times we went on it.

We have a new game plan we are going to try next time...scheduling our park days for the day AFTER emh's. We have heard the crowds are non-existent. We shall see...

It sounds like your having the perfect night so far! We love night time emhs and always pick our park for the day based on which on has emh that night. We rode Space Mountain at 2:59am and loved it!

I LOVE evening EMH's. You can get so much done then and it feels like the park is all yours. This where I am glad that Claire is a late nighter.

I maybe close to your area this summer. My cousin is getting married some where around Monroe. I may need to hit you up for some good safe hotel info. :)

I'm not sure we have ever been in a park during EMH. I might have to change that though. I am a night owl and I think I would enjoy it! Looks like you guys have a great time! I think the rides are neat at night anyway when they are all lit up.

Happy Good Friday and happy Easter to you and your family! :)

We are night owls too so the evening extra magic hours are better for us than the morning hours. The park is busy during that first hour of the evening hours but then clears out and we often ride things multiple times.

That's awesome! If you have time, we should try and meet up somewhere. There are definitely some places that you don't want to stay in the Monroe area but I can certainly help by making recommendations.

I LOVE evening EMH's. You can get so much done then and it feels like the park is all yours. This where I am glad that Claire is a late nighter.

That's exactly how we feel too!

I haven't ever seen Wishes. :guilty: Cortlyn melted down last year before Wishes and we didn't get to see them. We have TWO MK days this year and I'm REALLY hoping that I can make it for at least ONE show!

Hopefully, on your next trip, Cortlyn will be ready for the fireworks and there will be no meltdowns.

Hunter likes to take pictures too but he usually takes the kind that are all zoomed in so you can see little bitty details. I have to tell him to take wide shots sometimes.

I need to look for the pressed penny list and mark off the ones that Hunter already has. That's a good idea....thanks!

If you think there's any way that ya'll could stay for the evening extra hours, do it. We always get a lot of things accomplished within a short period of time.

We did 3am EMH while we were there last month. It was still very crowded. We had put off Space Mtn for EMH...big mistake. Lots of loud, obnoxious high school groups there and the wait ended up being 30+ minutes both times we went on it.

That's too bad that the high school groups put a damper on the EMH. :headache: We once ran into a group of Brazilian teenagers who definitely put a damper on our Crystal Palace meal. They were loud and obnoxious and running all over the place.

It sounds like your having the perfect night so far! We love night time emhs and always pick our park for the day based on which on has emh that night. We rode Space Mountain at 2:59am and loved it!

I wish that I could time our schedule for our upcoming trip around the evening extra hours but I'm having to avoid certain parks on certain days because of the holiday and Star Wars Weekends.

How's the job hunting going?
