Don't worry about being to busy to post, I'm so behind it's crazy!
I love your wedding pictures, Lacey made a beautiful bride and you can see how proud you and John are!
When My DH and I got engaged, he didn't have a ring. We picked a set out together (actually a matching set with all rings) and put it on lay-a-way for 7 months! I didn't get to wear my engagment ring until a month before the wedding!
Too bad Hunter didn't get picked, maybe he'll make it by the time the trip happens!
What a bummer about Hunter's number. Crossing my fingers something works out! The wedding pictures are so pretty! I love the yellow...it just looks so happy!
Lisa, I am hopelessly behind (I think you'll forgive me considering I'm in Florida). Congrats on the teams' many wins since I've been gone, and I absolutely adore the wedding pictures.
Morning all! I am working on an installment now...well, I was until the boss came in earlier than normal. But, he has a 10:00 appointment so I should be able to get back to it soon. Stick with me ya'll.....I AM going to get it done.
I'm loving your trip report and all the tidbits about your family life.
The wedding was beautiful! In our world of over the top birthdays, weddings, etc...it is so refreshing to see a wedding that was focused on what really matters ~ love, family and friends! I love, love, love your dress. You looked so pretty!
So far, we had ridden Spaceship Earth, Living With The Land, taken the Behind The Seeds Tour, and ridden Soarin'. We had a so-so lunch at Sunshine Seasons. I'm not sure that we'd eat there again. It's not because the food was bad or anything. Would I try it again? Maybe.
Oh and we had done a little shopping at Mouse Gears.
As I have mentioned before, Mama gets around pretty good but she does get tired and we try to work in rest times and people watch. That is what we did before walking over to World Showcase. After a short rest, we wandered upon:
I was a little surprised to see some of the topiaries still out since the Flower & Garden Festival had ended before we arrived. I miss the days when the Flower & Garden Festival lasted throughout the month of May. It always amazed me how they transformed the park into a flower and topiary wonderland.
As we got to the end of the walkway, I asked which way the group wanted to go.....left towards Mexico or right towards Canada? It was totally up to them. They chose left so that's where we headed.
As you can see from this picture, it was pretty busy around the Mexico area and it wasn't from people eating at the restaurants. It was just busy.
We had a look around at the carved and painted animals for sale and I found myself, as I always do each and every year, wishing I had the money to buy one of the pretty animals. They are pretty pricey but I can see why. They are each hand carved and painted and hte attention to detail is amazing.
We also paused to look a bit in the stores but then I noticed that there were quite a few people walking towards the boat ride and figured we better go ahead and get in line. There was a little bit of a line but not enough that we had to wait very long to board. Soon, we were drifting along in our boat:
Poor Donald is about to get the stuffing whacked out of him!
Hidden Mickey:
All too soon, our boat ride was over and the three amigos were bidding us farewell:
One of our goals this trip was to search for a wedding cake topper for Lacey and Jesse. Since (as you all know by now) that they went with a very natural theme, she was looking for a bird cake topper and thought that there might be one in the glass blower's shop. Unfortunately, the only birds they had were pretty small and the larger ones had colors on them which she didn't want. It didn't stop us from looking around though. If you have never been in the glass shop, you should take a minute and do so. There are so really pretty things in there.
We also took time to go in the other store in the pavilion that sells jewelry and clothing items. Mama found a pretty ring and some earrings but couldn't decide if she should get them or not. After quite some time, I talked her into it and she bought both.
Before heading out into the bright sunshine and heat, we talked about where to go next. Should we wander around World Showcase a bit more or should we head back towards The Seas? We had a dinner ADR at the Coral Reef and didn't want to go too far across the park. Hum? What should we do? What should we do?
My kids absolutely LOVED the boat ride in Mexico. We went on it twice in a row. I thought it'd be boring to them, but nope, it was a hit. Looking forward to it again. I enjoyed shopping in there as well.
Mexico is my favorite place to shop in the World Showcase! I had the hardest time last year not buying the carved animals too, but I knew I couldn't afford them. I did buy a bracelet at that jewelry store that Mama bought some things at. In fact, I wore that bracelet in Heather's wedding!
Hope you had a great weekend, and can't wait to read the next installment!
Great wedding pics, Lisa!!!! You all looked fabulous!
I'm in full-on Disney withdrawal right now and I want to go back right now. lol Looking at your pics from the Mexico ride, I'm reminded that I absolutely love Disney detail! The skirt on the little girl bashing the crud out of Donald is one of my favorites! It's so crisp and clean and the pleats are just perfect. It makes me smile every time.
Great update, Lisa. I love looking through the shops in Mexico...some really beautiful items (and, of course, we had to get the "sombrero" picture of Mark adn the girls). It's a great place to cool off.
Great update! For as many times as I've been in the Mexican pavilion I have never been in any of the stores. My goal for my next trip is to do more browsing in the WS stores. (It is a trip with no kids so it should be much easier.)
I can't believe I did not post anything about the wedding pictures . I could have swore that I did . Anyway they are beautiful. I love the color splash picture with her holding her flowers; they are always so pretty. All of the pictures turned out so good.
I have been MIA for a while trying to get the stuff done for Amanda's upcoming wedding. The time is closing in fast and I still have so much to do .
Great update! I was surprised to still see the Topiaries still out when we were there, we got there the day after it ended, but you were there at the end of the month- I'm surprised they kept them out that long. Maybe to promote Cars 2, I think it was getting ready to open at the time so maybe they left them out for that? Did you see the other ones, or just the Cars ones?
