Great pictures in DTD! I can't wait to see the new Lego store displays!:thumbsup2 We never spend enough time in DTD. I'm definitely going to change that next trip.;)

Happy Belated Anniversary!!:goodvibes DH and I celebrated our 16th on the 12th. Can't believe how quickly time goes.

I sure love those caramel filled chocolates!

I hope you all have a safe trip to Georgia and a wonderful time during the Wedding festivities!

I haven't been on in a LONG while, but whenever I do I check to see if your family has made another trip to Disney. I am NEVER disappointed! I can't believe that the wedding is here. I remember when you were writing about them "dating". Congratulations to them. May God bless their home and marriage with peace, contentment, love, and yes I must say it.............DISNEY. I will be praying for LAcey to feel like a Princess on her wedding day!
Oh and by the way, when did Hunter stop looking like a little kid? Wow! Has he grown!

Not sure if you'll get a chance to stop in today, but if you do:

Safe travels to my neck of the woods!!!!

Good luck and congrats to Lacey and Jesse!!!! I wish them a lifetime of love and happiness!

Enjoy yourself this weekend!

Thank you! We did find what my Papaw used to call "pig trail" roads that we are going to try to get up to Cleveland and Helen. Hopefully, we won't get lost anywhere.

I'm happy to hear that you are back on the Disboards! Thank you so much for the wishes for Lacey and Jesse.

I have no idea when Hunter turned into a young man! He's taller than I am!

I sure love those caramel filled chocolates!

I hope you all have a safe trip to Georgia and a wonderful time during the Wedding festivities!

I could go for a caramel chocolate right now! Instead, I had peanut butter and crackers for a snack.

I'm hoping to get out of the office a little early so that we can hit the road but it's probably just wishful thinking on my part.

Can't wait to see all your wedding photos - hope you have safe travels

Thank you so much!

Hi Lisa,
I just wanted you to know, that I thought of you while we ate at RF at AK recently. When looking at the menu, I remembered the picture you had posted of this plate and I decided I'd make it mine as well. :)

Here's mine:

IMG_2828.jpg

I ordered it as my entree too, it was yummy. Wish I had some now!

Gosh, it's hard to believe there's only 5 more days until Lacey's wedding! I have been keeping you all in my prayers. I hope she has a wonderful wedding day and a blessed marriage! (I have a feeling
she will!) ;)
And like everyone else around here I can't wait to see her wedding pics!

I would have much rather had one of the appetizer plates for my lunch instead of my salad. Of course, I would have rather been sitting at the Rainforest Cafe too.

Thanks so much for the prayers and blessings.

Love this picture- the expression on Hunter's face is great!

Looks like a nice start to your trip at DTD. Yummy meal, fun shopping and sight seeing.

The new Lego sculptures are amazing! What an interesting job that must be. "I play with Legos for a living"

I hope you all have a wonderful week leading up to the wedding!!!

Hunter was in his tough guy mode I guess. :rotfl: I would love to get paid to play with Legos all day too. My nephew used to love Legos or any kind of puzzle. He's bicycling around Europe right now but posted on his blog that he was doing some type of puzzle in his tent. Ahhh, the life!

Great updates, Lisa. I'd heard of that new store with the "mismatched" stuff and that things were a little pricey.

Glad Hunter found what he wanted.

I cannot believe you packed the jeep and then had to repack it.

Please let us know when Lacey has arrived safely.

The missmatched store was cute but, as you said, a bit pricey.

Yes, we had to pile even more into the Jeep but it wasn't as hard as we thought it would be. Thank goodness!

Those new hand dryers are pretty awesome - are they exceptionally loud like the other air dryers? I hate that, it sounds like you're in a wind tunnel .

The spice and tea place looked like they had some fun stuff! I was sniffing with caution because of my allergies, but it seemed like they had a ton of flavors to choose from!

I don't remember the hand dryers being really loud but, then again, we were in the Rainforest Cafe which is loud enough by itself.:lmao:

The tea place was really cool and, if I were a rich woman, I'd have spent a ton of money there.

Have a safe trip to Georgia. I know the wedding will be fantastic. I hope you all have a great time. Congratulations to Lacey & Jesse!! :goodvibes
What is that poor girl going to do with EIGHT iron skillets?!?!! :confused3

Thanks April! We are ready to get on the road and start decorating the church. Lacey took back one of the skillets that she received at the shower my family gave her and will probably take back at least three of the ones that she received at the church shower. We all said that Jesse better stay in line or she'll bop him with a skillet! :rotfl2:

I hope you have a safe trip and a good time. Looking foward to seeing the pictures of the wedding. Tell them congrats from your Dis friends.

Thank you! You guys know that I'll be taking lots of pictures or everything and anything.

If I don't get back on here later, I just wan to wish safe travels for everyone and A big CONGRATULATIONS for Lacey & Jesse !

Wishing everyone a safe trip and a wonderful time at the wedding!! Congratulations to Lacey and Jesse!!! party:

Lisa, in case I don't get back here later, I want to wish everyone safe travels, and I wish Lacey and Jesse a beautiful wedding and a very happy life together. Hugs and Love to all of you.

Hi Lisa,
I will be praying for safe travels for everyone involved in the wedding. You and John have done a wonderful job raising your bride to be :bride: and I know she will have a beautiful wedding.

I hope your day at work tomorrow is not too stressful and that you are able to get out on time.

We will all be thinking of you! :grouphug:

Glad Lacey made it to Georgia safe, even if she did take a slight detour! And she will never need any more iron skillets in her life. She can just pack the others away and take one out as they need a replacement! :lmao:

Hope you guys have a safe drive tomorrow/Thursday, and Lacey and Jesse have a wonderful wedding on Saturday. I'll be thinking of them while I'm having my bridesmaid dress fitted! :goodvibes

Safe travels to Georgia! I totally agree about the traffic in Atlanta!! :scared1: I do not ever want to live there!!

Cute story about Lacey going the wrong way! You can definitely tell where her mind is! :)

Thank you all so much! I have already passed along the blessings and wishes. She thinks it's cool that I have so many Dis friends.

Those pictures from Rainforest Cafe look so yummy!! Hmm... I went inside RFC once just to use their restrooms and I realized we were still not ready for a meal in there. Beatriz would completely lose it with all those dinasours and thunder noises.

Great updates!

Q

The Rainforest Cafe can get pretty loud so you may have to wait a while before taking Beatriz there.

Lisa have a wonderful and safe trip. I'll keep my fingers crossed for no traffic for you. I'm wishing Lacey and Jesse all the best in thier new life together and I hope they have the perfect day!:daisy::flower2:

Thanks so much!

When I left off, we had returned to the CBR and were greeted by:

We made a quick potty stop and we were off to the van. We had another shopping trip to make. Years and years ago, we stayed in a Days Suites on Hwy. 192 in Kissimmee. Way back then, it was a pretty decent place to stay and it was budget friendly. Right next door to Days Suites was a shopping/touristy place called Old Town. Old Town was cool. It had a haunted house, an arcade, a movie memorabilia store, an old timey store and more neat shops. We used to go there at least two or three times during each of our trips to the Kissimmee area.

Over the years, Days Suites went downhill.....both figuratively and literally (the last time we stayed there, our bed was so sunken in that when we lay down, we rolled to the middle). Also, during one of our stays, we went to the swimming pool for a swim and came back less than an hour later to find that my jewelry had been stolen and my sister's credit cards had been stolen. The cops said that they knew it was an inside job (meaning the maids and other hotel employees were working with a ring of thieves) because we were in and out of the room and gone for less than an hour. We were being watched the entire time we were there. It creeped me out!

Thankfully, the credit card company canceled my sister's credit cards (but not before the thieves had charged over $800 in gas) and she was not held liable for any of the charges. My wedding ring, my birthstone ring that my parents gave me and a necklace were gone forever.

Anyway, back to the future.....we wanted to go to Old Town and have a look around since it had been several years since we had gone there. We pulled into the parking lot and we could see that some dark clouds were rolling in. Hopefully, the rain would hold off long enough for us to do a little shopping.

There was one store in particular that I wanted to visit and that was Black Market Minerals. They used to sell the most unique stuff.....carved wooden animals, windchimes, rainsticks and lots of other things. We walked in and these were hanging everywhere:

102_0493.jpg

102_0494.jpg

I have two of the bamboo windchimes and they are hanging on my back porch. I thought about getting a new one but decided not to since we still had many more days of vacation before us and I might want to spend that money elsewhere. The most expensive one we saw hanging was just $12.00.

We continued looking around and Mama bought her a ring and earrings to match. I bought a couple of strands of beads and I think that's all we bought. We walked down to the General Store and bought the small bottles of Pepsi at 50 cents each. I remember when we first went to the General Store and they were just a quarter. They had signs everywhere advertising the quarter Pepsi's. The sounds of thunder made us put a pep in our step as we walked back to the van.

We got back on Hwy. 192 and drove to:

102_0495.jpg

Instead of placing an order with Garden Grocer, we decided to buy a few groceries ourselves. I, personally, would have preferred to just place the order but Mama likes to grocery shop (I know! What's wrong with her?). We bought some breakfast items, milk, water, cokes and a few other items. When we left the store, the thunder clapped again and we hotfooted it to the van again.

Once we made it back to the CBR, we unloaded our groceries and realized that we were hungry again. After all, it had been several hours since we had eaten that yummy Rainforest Cafe food. We made the walk to Old Port Royale. Well, most of us walked, Hunter hitched a ride:

We were hungry but not super duper hungry so we ordered a pizza to share and bought a couple of cups of their soup. I forgot to take a picture of the soup but did remember the pizza:

After our dinner, we meandered through the island and over to Jamaica. It never did rain on us so we walked at a leisurely pace. The Caribbean Beach Resort is so laid back and the landscaping is so beautiful. I wish I were there now.

***Up next: We finally go to the parks!

Hey Lisa! Happy to hear Lacey made it safely and was able to get started on her prep work. Sounds like all is coming together well. I know you guys have started out by now but I wish you smooth travels and a fun and beautiful wedding! Have a great time and enjoy yourselves! Congrats to Lacey & Jesse and all of you!

great update on Olde Town I have been wanting to go see it but have not made it a priority for any of our trips...pizza yummy! my guys could eat that everynight we are there....in fact Dayne and Luck did just that last time we were there....

 Connie

That Days Inn/Suites is the one we stayed at both times I went as a kid with my family. I actually looked into it for my trip last November, but saw the recent reviews saying how horrible it was and nixed it quickly!

Hope you have a safe drive and everything goes smoothly and happily for the wedding! A long, happy life with lots of love (and Disney!) to Lacey and Jesse! :bride::lovestruc

Hi Lisa! Great update!!! We have stayed at the Days Inn also! I think it was back in 1995 :scared1: This was our first trip to Disney (my second actually, I went in 91 with my grandparents!) so we didn't know any better & stayed offsite! We did not like it at all! The next time we went it was CBR all the way!!! It is such a laidback resort! I'm really hoping we get to stay there on our trip next year. I did a quote for both CBR & AllStar and the price difference is crazy! $657 more to stay at CBR!!! So, we don't know what we are going to do! Hopefully some sort of discount comes out & we are able to stay at CBR!!! Anyway. Hope the wedding goes well!!! Best wishes to Lacey & Jesse!!! :bride:

Wonderful update, Lisa. I never new that little shopping area was there; I'll have to make a note of it for a future trip.

Hope your drive is a safe one and that the wedding is perfect in every way.

Hi, Lisa. I guess you are well on your way by now but I wanted to stop in and wish you safe travels and a wonderful wedding! I know it will be lovely, and Lacey will be a beautiful bride. Can't wait to see the pictures.

Looks like a nice, relaxing day- great meal at the Rainforest, browsing at Old Town, grocery shopping followed by pizza and a stroll through the resort. What a great way to ease in for what is sure to be an exciting trip!

Best wishes to Lacey and Jesse this weekend!

We stayed at Days Suites also...back in 1985 & 1986. One year we stayed at Holiday Inn Maingate also. But there is no where like the Disney resrts. The only way we would stay off site is if we rented a house for a month or so if and when we retire.

Can hardly wait to hear about the wedding...God bless them with a long and loving marriage.

We stayed at Old Town the first time we went. It really has gone downhill. It was always so much fun to be able to walk to Old Town and look at the cars in car show and to ride the rides.

Good luck to Lacey and Jesse. I wish them happiness and love. Good luck to you and John also. I know that you are proud of her and that she will always be your little girl.

Hiya!

I have been reading your TR and finally caught up to you so I figured I would introduce myself so as not to be one of those dang lurkers! :rolleyes1

I'm Heather, and first let me congratulate you on your anniversary and Lacey's wedding, which if I am correct is tomorrow...:scared1:

Cant wait to read more! And if I previously have snuck in a reply, please forgive me for not remembering - I am doing this from work as you do! :lmao:

First of all, happy anniversary, a little late. Next, congratulations to Jesse and Lacey.

Now that those are out of the way, some bad news. When I read the update on another Disney site, I immediately thought of Hunter. The Magic Masters store at DTD is closing in September! :( I had not read your last installment yet and My first thought when I read the store was closing was "I hope Hunter made it there this year.". So sad :( he will have to find another "must visit" store.

Hope you have safe travels this weekend. Happy Belated Anniversary! Best Wishes to Lacey and Jessie on their wedding, I'm sure it will be beautiful from hearing about all her plans.

I didn't remember that the Harley Davidson store was there this last trip until after we got home. If I did I would have gotten my brother a T-shirt from there. He is a Harley owner/rider and likes the different shirt designs. He has them from everywhere he's been and some places he hasn't. I usually pick one up for him if I see a Harley store anywhere I go. It's neat to see the cool bikes they have on display, that's cool that you got pics of Hunter on them.

Old Town looks like a cool place, I like places like that with little shops.

They have pretty decent pizza at the hotel food courts, not the best, but it satisfies the craving. Looks like yours was nice and cheesy.
