YAY! for finally getting to see a Bear! And cubs as well!![]()
We have a truck that comes from Georgia park at the local gas staton that sells peaches and boy are they GoooooD!
Other than the bad weather, you had a lovely trip!
I was so excited to see the bears! Nottin's better than Georgia peaches!
Yay! You got to see a bear!I too love looking at wildlife.
I'm a dangerous driver when there is a storm, because I spend more time looking at the lightning than looking at the road.I just find it so pretty! So I'm sure I would have loved that drive back at the end.
As much as I enjoyed reading about this side trip, I'm glad you are going back to your Disney reporting. Not that I'll be around to read the next few reports though.![]()
If the wind hadn't been so strong and the rain so hard, I would have enjoyed looking at the lightning too.
You've already left for your trip and hope you're having a tiggerific time!
Great pics of Tennessee!!! We will be up there in about four weeks. We are headed up for the first U of TN football game over Labor Day weekend. Last year we stayed until Monday and went to Gatlinburg on Sunday, but since we are leaving for WDW two weeks later, we decided we would head home on Sunday instead.
I'm so glad you got to see a bear! I would love to see a bear in the wild. Maybe someday.
Hope things are going well with the final details for the wedding! I still can't believe it is so close already!
Tennessee is so pretty! I hope that we get to go back during the Thanksgiving holidays.
If you ever get the chance to go to Cade's Cove....do it! Even if you don't see a bear, the scenery is gorgeous.
Awesome photos! I love that photo of the bridge & the photos of the bears. I'm so glad you got to see the bears! It sounds like you had a great trip minus the scary weather on the way home.
I can't believe Lacey's wedding is less than 2 weeks away!
We had a wonderful trip even factoring in the car trouble and weather. I can't believe the wedding's coming up so soon either. Time seems to have flown by.
I just realised I'll be away at the time of Lacey's wedding. I want to congratulate them and wish them a beautiful wedding and a happy marriage!
Thank you so very much!
Exciting to see the bear...I know...I live in a tiny Vermont village(about 350 people) and there was a Mama bear and her cub walking across the road to the stream. Do cute! My best friend and I go out at night "looking for critters" ans one night we came across a moose...he was about 5 feet from my window and just walking along beside us.
Holy moly! A moose! I would have freaked out....but in a good way! I love going out an looking for wildlife too. My daddy used to take me out at night and we'd look for raccoons in the trees in the woods around our house. I was such a tomboy!
I really enjoyed reading about your Knoxville trip. Ironically, I live about 11 hours north of Knoxville and you live an equal distance south.
You must be getting so excited for the wedding. It sounds like it is going to be wonderful.
And good for Hunter for getting back into football. Pre season sports start next Monday up here. What a fast summer! Again!
If you ever get the chance to visit Knoxville and the surrounding towns....do it. It's such a pretty place to visit.
I am definitely getting excited about the wedding. It's hard to believe that an entire year has gone by so quickly.
Summer was over in no time flat. I have no idea where it went. Hunter got pretty roughed up at practice yesterday because they started full-on practice. Those poor boys are dripping with sweat by the time they are done. After all, it was 100 at 7:30 last night.
I'm glad you got your peaches and your bear! That sounds like a rough drive back I'm glad to hear everyone made it back safe. The wedding is so close I bet there is lots of excitement at your house.
Peaches and bears were two of the things that I wanted when we planned the trip to Knoxville. Those and seeing Lacey's apartment.
What a great trip to Knoxville! Well, except for the travel issues! You have some wonderful pictures of the amazing scenery! I am so impressed with Mama tagging along and keeping up with you folks!
Yum on the peaches and corn. Would you care to share how you used up the peaches? Any yummy pies or cobblers?
I look forward to hearing more about the wedding and more Disney, of course!
Mama does pretty good at keeping up even though she's 77 years old. I hope that I can get around as good as she does when I am her age.
We counted out our peaches when we got home and there were 102 in the basket....for $20! I made peach jam and peach preserves and we ate fresh peaches for a week or so. They were so delicious! I don't usually like cooked fruit but the jam and preserves are so good that even I like them.
I can't believe the wedding is so soon!!!!! How fun and exciting!!!!
Wow, the weather on your drive home definitely looks like it was unpleasant! Thank goodness you all made it home okay!
I know! Lacey is at the last fitting for her dress right now and picked up two of the guys' pants earlier today. The 20th will be here before we know it.
Hi Lisa! I wanted to let you know that I received an email back from WDW today in response to the letter I sent (and you and several others did too!). Mine seems to have actually been written for me, or they just have a new form letter for those of us asking about the discounts and pricing! Here is what I got:

So, not much help but more on topic then the generic response you had gotten at least.![]()
Well, at least that was better than the dumb....let's put out a form letter to Lisa....response that I got. It seems like they were at least trying to justify their price increases in their response to you.
Wow...I can't believe the wedding is coming up so quickly! SO exciting!!
The Tennessee pictures are beautiful! My in-laws are actually heading there at the end of the month. What a gorgeous part of the country! And you saw bears....YAY!!
I know what you mean about Hunter growing up so fast. We measured Isaiah last week and that boy is 5'11"! Holy Cow!
You seem to be a magnet for bad travel weather! Yikes. Glad you all made it home safely.![]()
Lacey leaves for Georgia on Friday and will start setting everything up and getting things ready as much as she can until we get there on Thursday. She's so excited!
I hope that your in-laws have a good time in Tennessee. It's such a pretty place to visit.
Holy smokes! Isaiah is 5'11"! Missy....what are you giving that boy?
