Jumping, Dancing & Jamming Our Way Through Walt Disney World! I'm With the Band Now!

Welcome back. Glad you had a safe trip, although long one due to construction (have to love summer construction jobs).

Glad you feel better knowing that Lacey and Jesse are in a safe place.

OK - spill - what did you buy that You've been wanting for a year?????

Glad you had a nice weekend, sans the horrible traffic.

Glad you had a good trip (construction and weather aside). Can't wait to hear about it!!

Welcome Home! Sorry the weather was less than cooperative, but I am glad you were able to see Lacey and Jesse's new apartment and have piece of mind knowing where they are living.

Oh, trippin around with Lisa! Can't wait! You save me a lot on my vacation budget by bring me along (electronicly) with you!

OK it has been a day already. Stop the suspense and tell us what you saw/got. Glad you had a safe trip and are comfortable with the kids arrangements.

Hey Lisa- Just wanted to let you know that the backsack I got from you will be making its first trip to the MK on Wednesday! We leave on Monday for a quick 4 night stay at the Portofino Resort at Universal.

I'll be sure to get a picture of me using it and post it here!

Hi Lisa!

So glad you had a great trip!!:goodvibes Can't wait to hear about it!:thumbsup2

Oh...and I know I've said it before but I love  all your pictures around CBR! I really need to talk those guys of mine to give it a try one of these days.;)

Sorry I haven't done an update yet.

John had another appointment with the neurologist this morning. The process of getting him off one of his meds and onto a new one officially starts this Sunday.

The doctor looked at his lab work and his medication levels and they were in the toxic level! One should have been around a 1 1/2 or 2 and it was a 3.3! The other should have been around 9 and it was a 12! No wonder the poor man stumbles around and sleeps all the time. :upsidedow

We have already reduced two of his meds over the last month and he's seen no real side effects. Right now, even after having done the slight reduction, he's still on 3,600 mg. of seizure medications and 300 mg. of meds to combat the side effects of the seizure medicatons. Because he is on so much, the change will take quite some time but we're fine with this because we are hoping that it will help him out in the long run. The doctor's goal is to have him on two, maybe just one, seizure medications. We go back to see the doctor on August 22nd and we'll see what the next step will be.

This afternoon, Lacey and I had an appointment with the lady who is going to do the alterations to her wedding dress. She pinned a little here and a little there and it looked so much better. Lacey, like her Mama, wasn't blessed in the chest department so all of the tightening and fitting was in that area. Total cost was just $77.00. They also tried to sell us a $77.00 bra. Ummm, no thank you, we'll go find one somewhere else.

After we got home from the appointments, we gathered squash, a cantalope, okra and peas from the garden. I worked for several hours and everything is now in the freezer or refrigerator. I also picked a five gallon bucket of apples from our apple tree and hope to get some homemade apple jelly made over the course of the weekend. There's nothing like homemade jelly! Yummy!

Tomorrow, we are going dress shopping for both myself and Lacey. She needs something to wear to both of her receptions and wants something cute and not too formal. I have no idea what I am looking for. I guess I'll know what I am looking for when I see it.

Oh, and something I forgot.....the Mama cat and one of her other kittens are back! I simply can not have five cats and a dog. That's way too many especially when the Mama and other kitten are skittish and won't even let you get near them. Somehow, I have to catch them and take them to the local animal shelter before I end up with a boat load of cats at my house!

I hear my oven beeping. I've got a pan of cornbread in the oven and need to get it out. I baked it so that John could have it and some of the fresh veggies for lunch tomorrow. Gotta go! I promise I will have pictures of our Tennessee trip posted sometime this weekend.

Wow! You are one busy lady! Glad to hear you had a good trip to Tennessee, sorry the drive there and back wasn't so great.

Oh my goodness! :scared1: I can't believe John is still walking around with that level of meds in his system. Hope everything gets straightened out soon and that he feels better with no side effects from the withdrawals.

Hi, Lisa. Hope John continues to have no "side effects" from the change in meds.

Great job on the alterations on Lacey's dress. I'm with you two -- mine had to be taken in the bosom area too! :sad2:

Good luck on the search for dresses.

Wow I can't believe John's meds were that much higher than they should be! I hope he feels better when he gets off some of that, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for no side effects.

You had one busy day it made me tired just reading it you sure got a lot done.

I hope you can find good homes for your growing cat population!:cat:

Oh my goodness, I hope John's medications are worked out and adjusted to soon! I'll be sending lots of good thoughts your guys' way!

How fun about dress fitting! Hahaha I'm not blessed in the chest department either, I know all about the fitting and pinning all in that area! I'm sure that the gown looks gorgeous! :goodvibes

Hey everybody! We're back home....actually, we got back home late Monday evening. I just haven't had time to post and upload my pictures. We had a great trip to Knoxville. The drive there was supposed to be about 9 3/4 hours but because of road construction, it took us 11! On the way home, it rained and hailed on us so hard that we had to pull off the interstate not once, but twice. The drive back home took us almost 12 hours!

Lacey and Jesse's apartment is in a quiet spot just outside of town and is very nice. There's a pool, tennis court and laundry facilities on the premises and all are accessed by key only so there's no people from outside the apartments using them. The apartment itself is not big but there's enough room for the two of them. It gives me peace of mind knowing they are in a nice, safe place.

I'm going to write up a mini-report when I get a minute or two. I don't want to give too much away but I will tell you that I came home very happy. I saw something I've always wanted to see and purchased something I've been wanting for over a year!

I look forward to hearing about the Tennessee trip. East Tennessee is pretty country, and it will be amazingly beautiful in the fall.

I'm definitely glad you feel good about the nice, safe place. :thumbsup2

I love hearing about the garden. One day, when I retire, I want to have a nice garden. Until then, I only admire the talents and the harvest of others.

I hope you get all of those medicines worked out and find just the right fit for John.

Busy Lady! I picked 15 lbs of strawberries and put up 25 jars of jam on Thursday, and that just about did me in. :sad2:

I hope everything with John's meds go well. My sister had to wean off some meds last year and it didn't go as well as she'd liked, but is better now. They had her on a too high does as well.

Good luck on the dress hunt:thumbsup2

Busy lady!! I am so envious of your garden so you are just going to have to stop talking about it!! :lmao: We just hit two Farmer's Markets and loaded up on some things I now have to freeze. We have wonderful Yazoo Clay that doesn't support growth of anything!! :sad2: Before moving here we had a great garden every year and now all we have are our memories and the Farmer's Market!! :headache:

I love apple butter!! Yum!! And I hope John's meds get worked out soon!!
