July5,2003 Magic...who's going?

I just got back from the doctor's with my (almost) 3 year old son. He has been throwing up, fever, and is miserable. Doctor gave him some antibiotics so hopefully we will be fine to go on Friday. He turns 3 years old tomorrow. They think it is a viral infection (so no antibiotics), but they gave it to him anyway because his sinus x-rays should some indication of infection.

We also requested the aplapla rotation, but are on early seating. As for weight....I've kind of blown it this last week. Hopefully still at a loss of 36 pounds. I do plan on fully enjoying myself on the cruise!!!!!

Hope all of you are doing well. I was crazy focused on packing....now I am crazy focusing on my son:(

Lisa

Hope you baby ( my children ages ranges 10-17 still my babies) is feeling better very very soon!!!!!!!!!! Joan

Dismama - I hope he is feeling better soon - maybe just a 24 hour bug.

I hope that everyone feels better before the cruise! But it is better now then durning the cruise as my mom says.

She also whats to know what is the of the 3 year old that is having a party is... we need to know who the present id for.

Dismama -I am sorry to hear about your son, but better now and it will be behind him for the trip!!

I too was on the phone with the pediatrician. We have had to put my youngest on Zantac from long term NSAID use. Between taking motrin on a daily basis (she has a bad knee), and all the excitement from the upcoming trip- her stomach has been bothering her the past few days. She is headed for surgery for the knee - she will be the little one with the brace on her right leg, if she is swimming - she has tan lines from the brace so it still looks like it is there.

As I prepared for this trip for the past week, one question kept coming to mind...........What did I do with my time before children, when I thought I was so very busy all the time? I cannot for the life of me remember!! But before you know it, they will be gone on to their own lives, so even though I am exhausted beyond belief, I am still loving every minute of it.

I went by AAA to purchase travelers checks, and of course I had to pick up some info on planning our next major trip. Long car trip - I could not think of anything better to do (all forms of work are outlawed for my husband and myself). I am a glutten for punishment!:)

We are on the road tomorrow, I will check boards a few times before we go. If I miss anyone, please have a safe trip, I cant wait to meet each of you!!

Ablyinpgva-Happy trials and a safe journey to you and your family.

My replies are not going through when i use my email link. Trying to see if this works.......

I just got a new computer and for some reason i can't reply using the email notification link. I just contacted support (or at least i hope it went through) to see what the problem is. The only way for me to log in is to go through the main site which is very time consuming.
Since i've already typed and lost this message 3 times, I'll keep it short:
DisMama: so sorry your little one is not feeling well. I'm sure he/she(?) senses all the excitement and is reacting to it. I'll cross my fingers and say a prayer that all goes well. Sick babies and plane trips are not a happy combo.

Epcotgrl: Ooops, I never even thought about getting a gift for that little girl (and no, I don't recall her name either) Hmmmm, now I don't know what to do. Do you think it's expected? With all the stuff everyone is carting around, I'm sure her mom doesn't want to be burdened down with anything extra, but that's just my opinion. What does everybody else think?

jeanne-my husband said you might need to enable your cookies...go to "tools" then "internet options" then tab to privacy and move slider to accept cookies. Hope it works .

WOW, thanks, that worked!!!!!!!! Everything is easy when you know the answer! I wish my hubby was more computer literate......I just spent the last hour hour *****ing and moaning to him about the stupid new computer!!!!!! Thanks again!

Glad it worked- for you-I just wanted to post again so my post total will reach 100!!!!!!!!!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

But it's late and I don't feel like clearing cookies at the moment.

Lisa, hope the bug is out of your baby's system by travel time. I hate riding in car when I don't feel well.

ably, have a safe and happy journey and see ya real soon.

As for the birthday gift, I was thinking something really small, like and mickey and minnie beanie. I seem to have hundreds of them from my days at the Disney store. I would love to give some a good home. We can say it's from the DIS group and that should cover all of us.

14 cataract surgeries, 10 history and physicals, three OR schedules to complete and then I am so out of here!!!!

Thanks for all of the well wishes....he's hanging in there. I can't wait to meet all of you :)

Does anyone ever go to dinner in there nice clothes and then go change into comfy clothes (e.g. jeans, sweats) and do more activities afterwards? Or does everybody stay dressed nice? I could see if you were going to the clubs that you may stay dressed nicely, but do people lounge around on the decks and have drinks, etc.?

Lisa

we usually dress and go to the show and then dinner and then change for the rest of the evening

If i'm formal or semi-formal, I'll definitely change. For the casual nights, I plan to wear a pair of nice but comfortable capris with a blouse so I'll probably stay in that for the rest of the evening.

We're waiting for Audrey to arrive so we can start relaxing and vacationing. Hurricane Bob (now tropical depression) has arrived so now we can go on the cruise. On all the cruises we've been on, there has always been a hurrican lurking. Our trip wouldn't be the same without one.

The kids are getting jumpy excited. They keep darting in and out of our bedroom. When are they going to get here? When do we leave? I'm waiting to hear the preverbial "Are we there yet?

Hi Audrey!
Welcome to Raleigh.....isn't this lovely weather?!? Better that we have it now than later. Have a great trip down tomorrow. We'll be following in your tracks on Friday. If all goes well we'll make it to the Radisson by about 8pm. See you then!

Denise: that's a great idea about the Disney beanie baby. It's compact and ties into the cruise. Let me know what I owe you towards the cost. Thanks.

Sue: Be thankful your kids are so excited. I truly miss those days. Mine have been complaining to their friends that they "have to" go on the dumb Disney (roll their eyes) cruise! Secretly, i think they're looking forward to it, but they won't let on to me that they feel that way. I'd rather have the old "bouncing-off-the-walls-with-excitement" times again!

Oh will it ever be time to leave! It seems like everything has gone wrong! Our cartop carrier had no keys, so yesterday we got a locksmith to make new ones. Today, digital camera problems, and it's only 15 days old! This morning we find out that the old cartopper wont fit the roof rack on our Taurus! Off to buy a new carrier.

We're supposed to leave between 1 and 2, It will be a push! Put things will settle when we get moving and on our way. Can't wait to see you all at the Radisson!

Safe trip everyone!
