Hey all ! So, looking for a mid-July trip - with the possibility of increased park capacity AND no FPS, is it worth it even trying for top attractions ( I will leave out ROTR- already know the answer) like FOP, MMRR, ( will even include TT and Soarin —. SSD - without rope-drop - we usually are night owls , and especially in the summer, we usually sleep in a little late. I’m thinking long lines, really hot, masks, and two cranky kids !! ( think I might really miss FPS this trip!!)

I know the experiences are
obviously limited ( not really m & g ppl, but like the fireworks and LOVE dessert parties) , but the thought of
waiting forever for attractions not really appealing -

Sorry for being so wordy ( it’s my OCD) - I guess I should just ask if worth it if you don’t get to parks really early? Tia !!

You may want to try the bigger rides in the evening if you'd prefer not to rope drop. The lines are often shorter in the evening than during the majority of the day.

Thanks !! That’s what I am thinking ! My kids are obsessed with FOP and I’m thinking huge lines even later on and totally missing the ride - and we haven’t been since MMRR opened and I know that’s something we all want to ride

Just keep in mind Disney frequently will show inflated wait times at the end of the evening to discourage guests from joining the line, but if you are in line before closing you will get to ride.

We’ve always done the headliners as the last thing at night. As long as you are in line at close, you get to ride. But honestly, you may find that the waits aren’t as bad as you think. Everyone is still reporting that wait times seem to be inflated 25% at any given time, and the lines move faster when they aren’t stopping for Fastpasses, so you don’t spend as much time standing still. And honestly. Since rope drop isn’t actually a thing right now, by the time the parks officially open, some of the rides have been operating 30 minutes or more and lines are already happening.

No reason to leave out ROTR! If you follow the tips and practice in advance, there’s no reason you can’t get a boarding group.

I don’t like rope drop either. What I have been doing is aiming for one hour after park open, and planning an earlier day followed by an Epcot day, since it opens the latest, so I get a good nights sleep every so often. I agree with trying headliners late in the day, especially if you have a must do in any particular park. It may not be cool in Florida at night, but at least you won’t have the sun baking you as well while you wait.
