July Exercise Challenge (Updated 8/1)

i'm back :) went to beautiful Destin FL for a vacation and brought home a few pounds! eek! spent quite a bit of time 'swimming' in the waves but i guess it wasn't a good substitute for my regular routine! please sign me up for my usual 1500 mins and as of now i'm 100/1500
 
I'm back from a walk....35 minutes....so that takes me to 95/800.

And, for those with iPods....

I never knew this existed, but my dh is recording some podcasts (for a very popular Disney website) and it got me looking at podcasts.

If you have an iPod and iTunes.....do a search for "workout" in the podcast section (or browse "health" and then "fitness and nutrition)....

I downloaded a walking workout by Prevention magazine that was really neat (about 3 minutes of a moderate pace and then 1 minute of an intense pace) for a 17 minute workout that got my heart going. I also had downloaded a radio type show called Dr. Fitness and the Fat Guy which kept me walking another mile b/c I was having fun listening to it (several times I cracked up laughing and I'm sure it was MUCH louder that I thought it was---you know, that "wearing headphones syndrome.")

Anyway, just an FYI if you've got an iPod and need some motiviation. I"m going to post this as a new thread so those not in this challenge might benefit from it too! :)
 

I wanted to check-in. 70 minutes for today, that brings me to 130/1000. I think I'm going to love the accountability of this website! :cool1:
 
Forgot to add that I did 49 minutes of interval training on the treadmill today. I was going to do 45 minutes, but added the other 4 so as to even out my total so far! This challenge has been such a great motivator for me!! Thanks so much for starting this thread!! :goodvibes My total is now 225/1300
 
I spent 2 hours mowing the lawn tonight with a push mower. That brings me to 227/1500.

Ok, I am up to 120 of my 1000. Yeah! Off to a good start! Going for the walk right now. Still haven't gotten in to sign up for a gym, since I feel I am in better shape now than 7 months ago. I think I will get some of those results I need, such as toning and such.

I love working out in the morning........not because I enjoy it, but because I get it overwith for the day!! ;) Today, I did 25 minutes of Taebo and 15 minutes of interval training on the treadmill. Total is now 265/1300
 
50 minutes of free weights this morning puts me at 195/1000. :sunny: Kathy, 2 hours of mowing a lawn should count for 3! Thats one tough workout.
 
60 minutes on the treadmill for a new total of 270/1200
 
Another walk with my iPod podcasts for another 40 minutes.

That brings me to 135/800 :)
 
Is it too late to sign up? I completely blew it last month so I want to be more conservative this month. I would like to do 800 minutes. As of today, I am at 120/800. Thanks.
 
I was able to go for a 25 minute walk with hubby tonight bringing my total to 290/1300.
 
Another 70 minutes for me. That brings me up to 200/1000! I wonder if I wil be able to keep this up when my husband gets back in town. ;)
 
I would like to sign up for 350 minutes since I am starting late and am a little lazy.
