July/August Code Watch

ok, now that the codes are out, do we have to have AP's to qualify for the codes?

If not, how do we ask for them?

I am going in August and would gladly get some of my money back if I could use a code!

Call the reservation line and tell them you would like to apply the AP rate to your room ressie. Then you will need either the AP or the voucher for the AP at check-in. ;)

Are there any general codes out for august?

Regretfully, no general public codes. Only AP codes thru 8/27 (and AAA rates). WDW is pushing the 4 for $1500 hard so I am not looking for any GP codes any time soon.

Sorry what does 4 for $1500 mean?

It is the deal that they have been promoting where 2 adults and 2 children can stay and play for less than $1500 for 6 nights. I means staying in a value resort and buying the Magic your Way tickets for one child, one junior, and 2 adults.

Ok I need some help. I am drowning in all this information!!! I am planning our 1st trip to wdw. We are planning to leave on Tues, Aug 31 and drive. We plan to visit MGM, MK & AK on Wed, Thurs & Fri. We plan to take one park a day & not hop (figured since it is our 1st trip we will need all day at each park). We are celebrating dd's 5th bday so we plan to eat at CRT & Chef Mickeys. I have booked ASMo for $77 a night. Is this the best price I can get? I am not a AP or AAA member. What about tickets, where can I get the cheapest price?? Do I book the dining plan? I AM VERY CONFUSED!!!!! What are my best options?????

You will likely only save $80-100 on your entire stay (assuming it will be 4 or 5 nights) if you were to buy an AP for the discount (which btw, the code is not out for that time period yet). That probably would not make sense unless you plan to use it again in the next 12 months. Remember you only need one AP to get the room(s) at a discount. I think an AAA is about 50 bucks a year and you would probably save $55-60 on this trip assuming a 15% discount. Not worth the effort IMO.

Not much there for discount tix (assuming a 3 day base ticket with no options). If you like to order things in advance you may want to check out the ticket purchasing thingy on this website (check out the home page). If you have the money to invest I would recommend purchasing a 6 or 7 day ticket and adding the "never expire" option to it. You can save bunches on your next trip (oh yes, there will be one!!) by doing this now. Otherwise, I would purchase these at the front desk of the resort hotel at check in.

Sorry, I don't know much about a dining plan. :confused3 I have never found that packages or plans actually save my fam any money. You will need to think about making your priority seating ressie soon though. You can make it up to 90 days in advance so your time is coming up fast for that.

What resort are you staying in? We love All Star Sports. Our kids are adults now but they still insist in it because of all the fond memories from 10 years of staying there.

Good luck with your first (of I'm sure, many) ;) trips to the World! pirate:

What does AP mean and how do I get it and do I want it? We are planning on going to DisneyWorld anytime between July and the end of Sept...haven't pinned down a date yet. We do have triple A but it expires at the end of Feb.

Mommymonster - AP = Annual Pass -

That is a whole new ballgame compared to Magic Your way package. You will probably renew your AAA anyhow and it will most likely give you a 10-15% discount if nothing better comes along

Greetings all! I'm new to the world of Disney and book a 6 night standard room at the Grand Floridian with airfare and 2 park hopper tickets for 3 days. The cost of this will be 3000. I am really hoping that it is worth it. This is with my AAA discount applied. I wasn't sure if there were any better deals out there and also where these "codes" everyone talks about are posted. Thanks in advance.

Welcome Chemteacher03!

Codes these days are few and far between. Keep on the lookout here on the boards and read everything you can. I'm sure you have a great time. The GF is absolutely beautiful!

AP is Annual Pass. It is available to the general public and there are several ways to get them. In 2005 they were $420.00 each (regular pass for the 4 parks only not the Premium pass). Purchased mine on the official Disney website. They are good for one year from the first day that you use them for park entrance. Hotel discounts are not guaranteed but when they have them they are significant. I saved $300 on one trip with the AP discounts. Need to ask yourself how many trips you will be making in one year. Also, FYI, you only need one pass to get the discounts. ::MickeyMo

I'm hoping for a code too! We have a family group of either 12 or 16 going --so far for late August. :cool1:

We're looking at the last week in August, hoping that something comes up - last year we were lucky enough to get free dining, I don't think that will ever come back, but I can hope!!!!! pixiedust:

OK I am way late to this party...So they already released AP rates for July? Dang it! I need to get on it.

The website doesn't show discounts beyond April where is this info coming from (to 8/27) :confused3
