July 9th 2005 - West Coast Cruise.

:bday: for Matt & :bday: for Dylan. Are Mike & I the only ones stupid enough to be going to the parks on the 17th? I'm still not sure why that seemed like a good idea, but we're committed now.

If we had thought about it when we had made our reservations, we would have stayed and done DL after the cruise. We didn't think about it, and made our reservations for before..... Typing is my only form of commnication now...

Matt thanks you for the wishes! :sunny: Sad to say, we need to get back to football practice (Matt) and tons of homework (me). Have a great time on the 17th! We'd love to be there.....

Good morning all! I'm getting ready to head to Las Vegas later this morning. DH bowls in a league that bowls in Vegas at the end of their season, so it's a weekend away for us once a year! I'm hoping to hit a big jackpot so that I can recoup the cost of the cruise...but I think that might be hard to do on nickel video poker!! :rotfl2:

It's supposed to be HOT! HOT! HOT! in Vegas this weekend...95 or 96! That's pretty hot for May!!! I didn't know about the 100th anniversary...thanks for the info. Man...we're celebrating all sorts of anniversaries this year...10th wedding anniversary, Disneyland's 50th, and now Vegas' 100th!

Kim :flower:

Vegas?! Take me with you! :Pinkbounc Better yet, belly up to a craps table for me and have fun! Sounds like a fun weekend -- enjoy!

Good morning everyone! Today's the big day - the Magic leaves FL to head our way. :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :Pinkbounc

Are we still meeting on the 28th at Acapulco? I just found this great article on what the port has planned for the Magic's departure that day. I'm even more excited now.

Hope everyone has a good weekend. Our is very busy and we are planning on visiting the Mouse tomorrow. :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsgirl:

We're still good for the 28th, I believe. :cool1: Anyone have an approximate time to meet?

:bday: to Dylan and Matt! Timmy's is coming up soon, #12. How do pre-teen boys celebrate? (Too old for ChuckeCheese -thankfully). Cassie just celebrated #7 by swimming with the dolphins at Sea World. What a blast!

Happy Weekend Everyone! :flower:

Can I come? We were at Sea World a couple of weeks ago and watched a group swim with the dolphins. Made us want to do it really bad!

On the bright side -- my Disney Cruise Passporter came today so I have plenty to read while I am awake!!

Have a great weekend!! :cool1:

Have you all checked out the thread Live from the Magic...the repositioning cruise thread? There are already 24 pages and it's only day two. Seeing all the pictures brought tears to my eyes. I can't wait.

Confirm for May 28 at San Pedro to see the Disney Magic Off. So Far, here are the names I have and the head count:

ScouterDad Family – 3
Chris & Jeanne-4
GrumpyMom1-?
Soccermom-Cheri-?
Swcruiser-1
Mommykeg-?
Amous-?
Sarangel-3

I was thinking of meeting at the terminal around 4pm and seeing the ship off. The ship departs at 5pm so that should give us plenty of time. I made reservations at Acapulco for 5:30pm.

Grumpymom1 sent this link http://www.sanpedrochamber.com/beacon_0505.pdf. Apperantly San Pedro Chamber is planning to have some boats excorting the Magic and blowing its signiture horn as they pass the Ports O' Call Restaurants. The question is do we want to see the Magic off from the terminal or from a restaurant along the Ports O' Call?

Plan A: 4pm at Terminal to see Magic off followed by Acapulco at 5:30pm.
Plan B: 3:30pm at Terminal and 5:00pm at Ports O'Call Restaurant to see the Magic Sail by.
Plan C: Fly out of the terminal shortly after sailing and try to catch it at Ports
O' Call restaurant.

Someone also suggested we wear the green shirts. I agree. Please RSVP and vote. :hourglass

We will be there - 3 of us.

Will we even be able to get to the terminal? With security the way it is these days, I don't think you can get to the terminal unless you are sailing.

Ports O'Call is actually a little shopping area. I haven't been there but I imagine it's similar to Seaport Village in San Diego. From what I can tell, Acapulco and Ports O'Call Village are very close to each other with Acapulco being a little closer to the port. I vote for being at one of those two places at 5:00. I saw a picture a while back that showed an outdoor patio area at Acapulco which overlooks the channel. Maybe we can get a reservation at 4:30 or 5:00 for the patio? I know there are going to be other DISr's there at that time too.

Put you down for three.

I'm having the same thoughts regarding security. I'll probably still hit the terminal about 3 or so and see if I can get in - you know, get an up close look. Then maybe Acapulco around 4:45. They have catalina cruises out the same lot as well as RCCL & Princess. In all the years I've been down there, I have never been stopped. Last time I was there was Labor day weekend 04. Worst case, can just park at Catalina Cruises and walk across the lot to Disney.

I'm going to contact the San Pedro Chamber in the morning and see if I can get a better sense of where this parade will start and where the prime location will be. Ports O' Call Village is not what it used to be. Haven't been to Ports O' Call Restaurant in years. I'll talk to the managers of both restaurants and see what they are expecting.

Looks like you're going to count us out for the 28th. Some unexpected expenses are making a trip to LA not the best idea, financially... We'll be with you in spirit, though.
