JULY 8TH 2006 - Eastern Magic - 070806 - 07082006 - 20060708

OMG the chicken pox - thats not very friendly
I never even gave a thought to what kinds of "stuff" the kids would come in contact with from each other. My kids too had the vaccination, but dont they need to get a booster after so many years????????????
If anyone knows - please let us know - there is still time to visit the dr. :stir:

I really think the boys will be okay as the little girl that came down with them was in a different group than them so they had very little contact with her but I couldn't believe it when I saw the sign posted at the camp yesterday. I'll call my doctor today.

anybody else going to be at Disney before the cruise?

linnied....where are you from on Long Island? I was raised in St. James. My mother was from Port Jefferson. I had relatives in Islip, Riverhead and West Hampton.

I see others are also from Florida. We live in Sebring...central part of Florida. We are about an hour and a half away from Disney.

We got hit by Charlie, Frances and Jean. Charlie did some real damage...11 miles west of us, houses were destroyed. My husband is giving me a fit about the weather "to come." I wish he would just hush!!

I have looked back over some of the discussions...boy have I missed alot!! Sure wish I knew about this board before!

What are people planning for St. Maarten? We had thought about Orient Beach but after checking the web and seeing the crime rate, we're not so sure. Saw other recommended beaches for children. These were Friar's Bay, Pine Island, and another one I can't remember. Does anybody have any input? Thanks in advance.
On St. Martin we're doing the Pinel Island Snorkle in the morning and then in the afternoon we're doing the Island Drive & Explorer Cruise.

I, too, would love to go and see the planes land at Princess Juliana Airport, however it looked at the flight schedules and it doesn't look like they have any 747's landing on Tuesdays. I'll have to look again.

St. Thomas, half of our party is doing the Paradise Point Tram as well as the Atlantis Submarine while the other half is going on a day excursion on the Marlin Prince to go deep-sea fishing.

Once you get chicken pox, I believe you are immune to it for the rest of your life.

9 of our party will be at Boardwalk Inn from 7/5 - 7/8 prior to the cruise. My wife and I, however, are flying in on 7/7 and overnighting at the Swan.

EEKS! Chicken Poxs!

I hate the stress of before a vacation keeping everybody healthy. Thankfully my DS isn't going to be in camp this or next week.

We still haven't decided what to do in st. martin. I think I am going to research the french side some and set up a mini tour and a few hours at the beach. Since we live 10 minutes from the beach it's not a big deal to go there, but DH is NOT going to go for shopping either. What did you read about crime at Orient? I have the Eagle Catamaran excursion booked, need to cancel that soon.

I am saving the tea time. I will send you an email with my name in case we don't hook up onboard and you can call me on the ship. There is a good chance I won't even go because I will be rushing to get there from a massage to be ontime, even though I have never done a "proper" tea and would like to try it. AHHH..I am babbling!!

If you use firefox you will have problems logging on to DCL. I even have problems sometimes with AOL. The best service is when I go thru IE. Also, sometimes switching from high to low band or low to high band helps too.

There is a tea with Wendy. I think you go to one of the desk to get the tickets. It's over by the excursion desk, forget what it is called though. If you go on the main board and do a search for tea with wendy i am sure you can get all the info.

I have sooooo much to do and so little time to do it!! Where did the time go. I will be the lady wearing the same clothes everyday unless I get myself to the mall here soon. Work is really interfering with my cruise planning, thank God I can dis from work.

This time in 2 weeks we will all be in st. martin doing who knows what :confused3 ..but not working. :cool1:

Hey K& Zcrusisers I hope to meet you too I just meant that it may not be possible to meet every single DIS board member, I love the door sign it is fantastic.

I am in Patchogue and grew up in Hauppauge. It'll be nice meeting a LIder on the cruise :goodvibes

So has anyone come to a conclusion yet for meeting up?

I've heard:

a) inside terminal pre-cruise

b) deck 7 verandah around 3 on sailaway day.

c) deck 9/10 during the sail away party.

a/b work for me. Anyone else?

a and b work for me too! We are getting sooooo excited!! :bounce: :yay:

The crime we read about was a drug related shooting and some stealing. It seemed to be mostly around certain resorts in the area. I would feel safe with any excursion through Disney. We were just going to explore on our own, thus our concern.

a is probably the best for me. We are excited too! I am shipping my 2 boxes down there today with goodies for the kids in our party!!! :wizard:

not all of us will be there in time for a
we should arrive at the terminal around 1 PM
therefore b or c may be better

Just say when and where and we will try to catch up with you all :thumbsup2

I am planning on a and c. If my luggage has not come by 3 maybe b.

For C can I sugguest deck 10 in front of the stack that over looks the stage. In the past we would meet there about 15 minutes before the sailaway party starts.

For A we can meet by the televisions opposite the counter, closest to the ship entrance. If all goes well we are going to try to be there right when the terminal opens.

For B I am assuming Deck 7 Aft, the secret veranda that ain't so secret any more. (Teen parents...if your kid is MIA check here or in front of the spa very late at night!!)

If anybody would like to try a meet sunday we could do it 10ish, it's a sea day.

Anybody plannin on doing Martini tasting..I really think this sounds fun!!

Folks, just FYI - from right now until we actually hit 7/8/2006 we are less than 10 days away.

As such, we are now:

Hi Everyone!

I would love to meet the folks that I have reaped so much great info from! :)

As for a little getting to know you "party" that would be great. We would be available to do any of the three choices that K&Z Cruizers offered. We do plan to be early at the port...tring to get that Magic #"1" card to board early, but what ever. party:

In St Maarten we have made reservations for the shipwreck cove snorkel excursion. We would also like to do the two flags tour in the morning. Time is listed for 8:45 I think. It says it lasts for three hours. Does anyone know if the times are accurate, or would we be pushing it to try to fit two excursions in?? Thanks for any info! :surfweb:

:thumbsup2 MBFergie I would love to do Martini tasting too and so would my younger sister tell me when and where and we will be there!!!

Well, I'll look around the terminal when I get there to see if I spot anyone. I also will look around at the Sailaway on deck 10. I can try to do 3:00 p.m. at the secret verandah but I cannot promise. I have 5 doors to decorate and sailaway gifts for my nieces and nephews to deliver (let's hope my boxes make it there okay)! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to meet you all!!! :cool1:

If everybody has cell phones they can call me when they arrive at the terminal and i will tell you where everybody is hanging out. You probably can't miss my kids..they will be the two fighting. AHHHH :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
