No docs yet..hopefully tomorrow!

I forgot about the carry-on changes! Does Virgin Atlantic allow a carry on at all?

Also, I'm so used to booking air on my own on Southwest! I have our info for the flights on Virgin Atlantic thru DCL and it has our seats and "confirmed". Do I still have to check-in online prior to going to airport? :confused3 I'm also hoping I can maybe change our seats since they are 6 all in a row while we prefer 3 and 3 so the kids each get a window. I also have anxiety attacks if I am in a middle seat..ugh!

No Mickey bars??? DH, DF and DD will not be happy to hear that :lmao: I'm another plain Mickey Rice Crispie treat lover....don't like the chocolate ones at all :upsidedow

Our kids are in school until 6/25 which is good because I am so behind in getting things ready for this cruise. This way I won't have to worry about dragging them to stores to get most of the clothes etc.

We fly with Virgin all the time and last year they were allowing you to take carry on items on board. I managed one carry on and one small backpack, don't think the rules have changed since then. You will need to check-in at the airport as they'll need to see your passport and take it's details. I have before put all our details in on line at www.virginatlantic.com and that's speeded check in up at bit as then they just have to check the details rather than input them. I've also been able to pick which seats we'd want for both outbound and inbound flights. It might be worth having a look to see if you can do this.

Morning all... 31 days from today, we will be flying across the pond to spend a few in London... Getting nervous about everything... Reading up about all London has to offer... Planning on getting tix ahead of time for the Tower of London and London Eye and playing the rest by ear...

Same here-if our BA flight doesn't get cancelled due to strikes.......

Yikes!

Best of luck with that... I'm on Delta out of here in Atlanta... Can't wait to be back on the Magic... Although looking through potential expenses along the way and choking a bit... Although I think I have around $2K in potential onboard $$ covered which will be a tremendous help...

Just curious... Anyone else spending pre-cruise nights in London at the Royal Garden Hotel using DVC Points?

We considered this, but Royal Garden won't do four to a room. We are staying at the B&B Belgravia, which has family rooms for four.

I booked 2 separate rooms... Had a lot of banked points from last year to use so I had no issues with it...

we looked into it as well...no rooms for 3. also looked into allen house through DVC for post cruise. would need to check in one day late as it was a sat to sat. decided to stay in London pre-cruise rather than post-cruise. at the time, was looking to get tickets for wimbledon, but decided against that as well. we ended up banking our points for this year to have plenty for DLP after the EBTA next year anyway!!!

can't believe we leave 4 weeks from today!!!

OMG, we did received them this weekend, but I thought it was just port of calls!! I opened them today and I'm in shock!!

:) waiting July third... 33 more days for me!

Hi everyone,

I know people have post some info about the locations that the ship is docking at. Sorry if this is a repeat. I just received the following from DCL and thought I'd share the information. I hope it helps in your planning.

3/24/10

Dear Kim,

Thank you for your patience while we researched your request.

Here are the locations where we will be docking for the following ports
of call:

Oslo, Norway: Akershus Kaia
Copenhagen, Denmark: Langelinie
Helsinki, Finland: Munkki Saari Quay, West Harbour
Stockholm, Sweden: Frihamnen

I hope this information has been helpful. If you require further
assistance in planning your visit, please feel free to contact us.

We look forward to sailing with you!

Have a Magical Day!

....Thank you for the information. Can you add some information about public transportation from the ports to the local tourist sites? For instance, information about whether are there Hop On Hop Off buses, if so, what time do these start at the ports? Are there other buses, or what pother transportation is available?
Thank you.

here's a website one of our cruise-mates made with some information on the ports - not sure if it's what you're looking for

Are any of you getting an international cell phone/SIM card to use, particularly when in England? If so, reputable places to get one?

I always use my cell phone on holiday in America and Europe and I've never had to get an International sim card or change my phone. I live in the UK and my phone is a tri band, which means I can use it just about anywhere in the world, there are some places where it can't be used, but for the majority of places it works great. All I had to do to be able to use my phone abroad was contact my provider and ask them to unblock interantional call roaming. Basically they enabled the phone to be used anywhere in the world. So if your phone is a tri or quad band, all you should have to do is contact your provider and ask them to unblock it. Hope that helps.
