will see you there - those are the 2 "nights" we picked too!

We're going to the Ball as well. What are you all weraing? I'm trying to talk the family into period costumes. I posted a poll to the main topics thread to see if anyone would respond.

Sorry everyone for the multiple posts - can you tell I am a weekend binge disser?:surfweb:

I am bummed that we can't be in Dover the night before to meet some of you at the pre-cruise dinner, and even though I look forward to the brunch - that's still just a few of you guys soooooooo...... i talked to the concierge guys and they said we could have a meet on secret deck 7 or somewhere. If adults aren't too interested, I could do a kid meet?? No worries if too much other stuff going on - but if there is I am up for planning it. SOme cruises I have never met anyone I dissed with - which was always kinda sad. If no meet, please stop by 8016 and say hi!!:)

Have a Happy Happy Easter!

We're up for a meet - I think everyone would be up for a meet. We just need to pick a date, time and place and I'll put it on the website.

Woo Hoo! As the cruise gets closer, I figured it was time to stop dragging my feet (to stop lurking) and join this forum!!!

DH (Otis), DS11 (Zach), DD9 (Hannah), and myself (Bridget) will be sailing the Disney Magic on July 6th in a GTY4

This will be our 2nd Disney Cruise!! Have you guys done group lanyards or tee's? If so, I would be interested in adding my name to the list!

Looking forward to sailing the Baltic with all of you!!

Welcome. We have a 9 year old daughter as well. Her name is Caileigh. She turns 9 on May 4.

Have you received your flight information from DCL already?

No, we haven't, but we know we have red-eye from ATL - at least that is what is on our itinerary from DCL - and comparable to what we had going to Barcelona in 2007. We were able to call DCL at 30-days out and they sent us our flight information by email - and they gave us our seat assignments then, too - we were able to make sure that they arrangement would work for us (two and two is how we were assigned although they put DH and me together and the two boys together across the aisle - which really didn't matter because we just sat how we needed to sit - but it was nice to know we weren't scattered all over the plane). Our TA notified us of our flight info two days after I already had it (I believe Carol is the one who mentioned to me that we could check with DCL at 30-days out). Usually DCL won't talk to you about your reservation when you have a TA but for flights, they did.

We got the boys' passports back this week so yay, that's all done. I still need to save our wish-list excursions before April 7th. Someone had asked about what time zone -- I remember getting up to book at 3 a.m. when we did our Med cruise - so I'm planning to do the same thing for April 7th - I think that makes it midnight Pacific time.

We had an awesome spring break at Hilton Head and that has definitely got us in the mood to cruise! The boys enjoyed the recreation staff and activities which puts them ready for the Youth Activities onboard!

Thanks for the info. We booked directly with DCL rather than using a TA. Our flight info was emailed to us last time so I guess I just need to be patient.

Cindy, I think booking is at 12pm MIDNIGHT EST for you. I booked a couple weeks ago and it was 9pm for me in California. (although my internet was down and I couldn't book until the next day!)

Denise, thanks for the info. I like a midnight option better than a three a m option. I will call tomorrow to confirm so I don't sleep at the wrong time. I have two Samantha Brown passport to Europe episodes on Helsinki and Stockholm that I can stay up late to watch.

Welcome Bhayes! :goodvibes We have a DS who will be almost 11 when we sail.

I like the meet idea. We can't make the Dover dinner either (as much as I wish we could! Dern work schedules!)

Monstro, thanks again for the info about the excursions we were hoping for. I'm a little less stressed now.

I got all our shore excursions saved at DCL, so now to just wait til midnight+1 minute on Tuesday night! We have our first / second choice for each port so hopefully we'll be able to get what we want - and if not, that's ok, too - because after all, we're going to the Baltic Sea and getting to go to so many places we'd never get to on our own!

bhayes, welcome to the thread! I added you to the list.

As for a meet, I'd love to come to a sailing-day meet (or even first-day-at-sea meet if that would be easier). What time can we board? What time do we sail? I haven't looked at any of that since we're doing DCL transfers. Should we do a poll to see what everyone's preference is? Can we do a poll mid-thread?

When we went to the Med, I didn't realize we weren't pulling out til so late - although I wonder now in hindsight if some of the lateness for our sailing had to do with guests arriving late or waiting for luggage that was late from the airlines.

Speaking of luggage, we're already thinking a bit about packing - and a tip I know you all know - be sure to put some of each person's clothing into each bag - that way if one bag gets lost, then everyone will still have one or two clean changes of clothes. I haven't looked at weight-limits for the airline yet - need to do that so we can think carefully about how we'll be packing.

I wanted to get some of our online forms filled out today but alas, I have to wait til Wednesday to do those, too. I'm just so very glad that the boys' passports have arrived safe and sound.

Good luck to all of you who will be booking along with us on Tuesday night.

Hi All,

3 more months. I haven't been on the DIS for a few weeks. Have a lot to catch up on. I hope to have our dinner meet reservation in Dover solidified by the end of next week. It is the kid's spring break and DH and I are headed to Napa on Wednesday. Going to try to catch up on all the posts I have missed while doing a butt-load of laundry and cleaning over the next two days.

We have 99% decided not to book any excursions. Definitely booking Palo!!!! Maybe booking Tivoli.

Here are our plans we have so far that are pre/post cruise...

1. arrive London June 30th and staying at Marriott County Hall...maybe a little geocaching after we check in and unpack.

2. fast track tickets to Tower of London for July 1...also the British Museum because they have late hours on Thrsday. Maybe more of the British Museum on friday morning or evening.

3. lots of sight seeing Friday and Saturday...probably hit the science museum and/or natural history museum int his time frame.

4. We rented a car and are going to drive to Stonehenge on the 4th of July. Then we are going to spend the day geocaching while exploring the English countryside.

5. July 5th drive to Dover in our car and probably see Canterbury and Leeds Castle. Then dinner meet in Dover. Staying at Premier Inn

6. post cruise rental car and visit Hever Castle on the trip back to London and staying one more night at The Renaissance Chancery Court. Then will take the car back to the airport on the 19th and fly home.

We have been to London before but the kid hasn't. We will be returning to London again so don't feel the need to try to fit everything in.

aack! I've been waiting forever to book & now that the date is just about here I'm a mess & feel unprepared!

I have saved actvities for most cities. I'm not worried about Copenhagen since we're meeting up with a friend there. We keep going back & forth on doing cities on our own or with DCL. I figure if our first choices aren't available then we'll self tour. Wait till dh hears that one :rotfl:

We still need a place to stay in Dover post cruise, other than that I think we're set or so I think!

I've missed a few days but I saw meet-up talk - do we have something set or is that still being worked?

Good Morning Everyone!

We cruise in 3 months..just thought I'd say.
I need to schedule a nap today so I can stay up until midnight for excursions.
I still haven't narrowed down my choices..
Tivoli is a very hard decision. I know I want to go. I'm sure the kids will want to go. Is it worth getting in one hour early??? Seems like not. What do you think?

We're staying at the Premier Inn Dover Central (Ferry Terminal) is that the same one as you're staying in?

I'm the same way about Tivoli! Ugh...better make up my mind soon! I'm stressing again now about being up at midnight to make all our plans. I thought vacations are supposed to be relaxing :lmao:

We have a very similar itinerary. We are arriving the 1st and spending a few days visiting friends. Then we are heading to Windsor and Stonehenge the 4th. We are planning to spend the night in Portsmoth. There is a Barbour factory outlet there. DW is a huge Barbour fan and we are not allowed to set foot on British soil without a trip to the outlet. The next day we are heading to Dover and are stayng at the Premier Inn Ferry Terminal.

I need to schedule a nap today so I can stay up until midnight for excursions.

We will be sitting by the computer at 9pm, here on the West Coast. I guess this makes up for having to get up before 5am to book back in 2008!:rotfl:

I made everyone sit down together on Sunday to work out a plan. We ended up agreeing to try to do most ports on our own. But at least now I know what we don't need to book. And then to plan the London days...:surfweb:

We're staying at the Premier Inn Dover Central (Ferry Terminal) is that the same one as you're staying in?

I believe it is the same!!!!!
