Seems to be a whole lot of DVC members on this cruise..
Who else? We thought about it once upon a time, but.....

Don't they usually have a DVC activity on-board?

Jeff

Yes, they usually do. The DVC team on board is so nice & friendly. So friendly that we usually re-up for more points! OY!

:)

ooohh, an administrator, sounds powerful. Since I have about 200 websites saved as favorites in my research of this trip- you might think carefully about granting such power..

Actually Yes - I think it would be good - just in case something happens and this trip doesn't work out for us.

Did you find out if there's a vacancy in the "arrange for a fish extender exchange" coordination? If so, that could be my first helpful act.

Yep! That is the case. I received a PM back today. The fish extender coordinator (Threebritts) is no longer on this cruise. I can start putting names (of people who want to participate) on the website, but i don't want to be the coordinator. I'd rather coordinate a pizza and beer night on Deck 11...:)

As for using studio sea for our meet it is something that you have to arrange ahead of time. They offer everything from just the use of the area to having food, drinks, characters, and a photographer there. It just depends on what you want. But if this is something we want to do we need to start arranging it soon because it takes time to work out all the details with DCL.

We need to figure out an onboard meet. Did anything come from this post? I didn’t see any follow-up and I think Tink is no longer on this cruise.

Tina,
Saw the ice bars but may do it on our own since DD will be only 20 1/2! So close.....
Did you like the sunshine today?
Seems like first time in weeks....:cool2:
I figured you'd do it on your own. I just didn't realize there was one in Copenhagen as well. I guess, there is probably one at most of the ports.

Yes.. the sun was nice too bad I was inside working with 14 - 12 year olds on how to sew a bag. But I'm happy to say all of them finished it and went home with a bag they designed.

I still don't have a hotel in Dover. Does anyone have a suggestion? We will have a car, so access to public transport is less important.

Thanks
Scott,
We are staying at the Dovers Restover Bed and Breakfast for two nights prior to the cruise. Booked it last August! George was very nice in all the emails. We will not have a car. All paid for too...:woohoo::woohoo:

I think that any of the lounges are open for meet/greets on sailaway day - there is a charge if you ask DCL to help coordinate it. We've always had our meets in the Promenade Lounge on the first day and then maybe another one somewhere else later in the week.

Definitely sign us up as participants for Fish Extender. We're in Cabin 6116, two adults, two teenage boys. We've found that knowing what the traveling party is made of has been helpful for when we've wanted to personalize or perhaps modify fish extender gifts.

With all the traffic here on the thread, it's building my excitement. I filed our tax return today - wasn't sure how much we'd owe and told myself I absolutely could NOT peek at excursions until that was done - and it turns out we'll actually get $9 refund - LOL! Go figure, eh? So now I can go look at excursions this week!

Wow Cindy,
Don't spend it all in one place!!!:lmao:

Today at church I talked with a friend who is from Russia. I asked for her suggestions on what to see while in St.P. She gave me all the ones we have all been talking about! So we are doing good....
She said she will call her friend who lives there still and see if there are any other places. We talked about St. Isaac's church and she doesn't understand why there is a $25.00 charge to go inside. She said all churches are public and there are no charges...:confused3
She said when she goes she gets a Visa and that it is about $200 for the visit...she has a Russian passport, because she was born there, but must renew it every 5 years at over $500. She doesn't travel there enough to renew it.
I will let you know what she tells me.

We have had meets mostly in the Promenade lounge, but I have had one on Secret Deck 7 also a group photo there.

I still have to do our tax return as well. I still don't have everything yet. I will be happy if we break even this year. I guess a $9 refund is better than paying. You can get a couple drink of the days.

We are booked! (thank you DVC!!)

Dad, Mom, DS15, DD18 - flying in from NYC.

W00t! See you there!!

Brian

Welcome aboard Brian and family.

I still don't have a hotel in Dover. Does anyone have a suggestion? We will have a car, so access to public transport is less important.

Thanks

We're at the Ramada in Dover. We don't have a car. We almost did a bed and breakfast.

I really want to meet everyone, but I don't think we want to participate in the FE as we are trying to reduce what we pack there and bring back.

Its a nice idea and we did it last time, but I think its too much for us this time.

We had a couple of meets and a photo op too.

It was really nice to meet everyone last time on the first day so we had friends to chat with all through the trip!

Looking forward to meeting everyone.

So, what suggestions do you have for Dover? Good place to eat maybe? We'll be there the day before, but I haven't really looked into anything yet. My BF wants to go to the lighthouse. Tdh hehanks for any info you can share.

I should check the thread more often ;)

Most of the suggestions we've gotten are for the military forts(?) from WW2 dh got the info. My dh heard the lighthouse is a must. He & my oldest ds are history buff so they are really into those suggestions. Younger ds & I are super thrilled with those but it may be a tradeoff since we really want to go to Stonehenge

We will be part of the fish extenders too....never done it before so it will be fun!

If it's ok with everyone, I can coordinate the fish extender exchange.
If you can PM me with your information, much like above, then I can keep
everything organized. Thanks!

joanne:)

Wonderful- will the first page be changed as well?:)

Yep! Got it!

I was hoping to go look at excursions today but the day got away from me. Maybe tomorrow. But I did look at our FE idea yesterday and think I've got it figured out :)

Just dropping in to say "hello". My DH and I had a great cruise in December other than the bit of rough waters. Now we are anxiously awaiting our cruise with you in Europe. Our three girls are coming on this cruise so that is great. We did miss them on our December cruise.

Take care and see ya real soon.

Since we will be in St Petersburg on a monday and I've noticed that quite a few of the big items are closed on monday, has anyone heard if DCL will have special access to these? I've heard a rumor, don't know where, but this is gonna suck if we can't get into some of these places.
