I certainly remember you and Jill.

hehehehe

Hi Cindy. Nice to talk again. We were deciding whether to go for the July 6th or July 18th out of Dover - I'm SO glad we picked this one.

For those that don't know us, I'm Shaun, I live in Yorkshire, England, and I will be travelling with my partner Jill. The picture on the left is us on formal night from our 2007 Med cruise. Such a fantastic time.....

I'm a writer by trade - so there will be lots of material for articles coming from this cruise!

Now we only have a small trip to Florida between now and the cruise to look forwards to....

So now someone creative needs to get busy and design us a logo to use for the next 20+ months! I'll be glad to add a list of DISers sailing on this one in the first post if you guys want me to do that... before we get all buried!

excellent idea!!! PLEASE!!!:cool1:

i am soooooooo excited!!

My dad booked a Cat 8 for this cruise, so we are going.

I want more sea days so I wanted to go on the transatlantic, but I I love the ports more on this cruise so all is good and I am excited:goodvibes

I'm Julia and I'll be 22 years old when we go on this trip and my dad will be traveling with me. My mom will be staying home like always because she doesn't really like vacations

We just got 4 cabins. 2 5's and 2 11's. We're excited to get a handicap 11 because my 80 something Grandmother is booked along with my terminal uncle although he is in remission.

Did anyone gets suites?

On our Med 070707 cruise DadOfLostBoys designed a great logo that was made into t-shirts...many of us wore them on the first night...he is supposed to book on our cruise (that sounds so nice, OUR cruise) I'm sure he might be thinking of something now?
Thanks for starting the list...maybe you could add seating for dinner too?
We have first.....

We are in :cool1: :cool1: Cat 9 2012.

My husband is more exciting :banana: :banana:

I was working then got home about half hour ago and checked the email.

Got email from DU. I said oh calm down then we are so happy *** didn't think the prices which we expected it. But turn out good prices for us.

Scottishwee35

Oh, by the way.....

WE'RE IN !!!!!

See you all in July 2010. It took Jill nearly three hours on transatlantic hold, but we're in 2017.

C'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon

Time passes so slowly when you're excited.....

Put us down too.. Liz and Neil from Leeds in a cat 9:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Another member of the British contingent here!!

We have been allocated Room 2000 - I think DCL believe the Brits are trouble makers so they've put us all together:rolleyes1

David

We sent our info to our TA today to book this 2010 itinerary for us. The June 12th one was a bit too early, and the other two didn't go to Helsinki, so we're going for the July 6th sailing from Dover. We are planning to go into London a couple of days ahead of time and stay over a few days afterwards.

Hi Cindy, we are in 7068 and main dining. thanks for the list.:cool1:

I think I've convinced a friend to book this cruise as well. She went online at 4pm and said she was getting a Cat 6. Her DIS name is Fabumouse so you can add her on as well.

WERE IN!!!!!!! After nearly having a heartattack when the site crashed and being on hold for every the website finally cam eup and we got it. Stateroom 8586 right below the wonderful beverage place or as I refered to it diet coke heaven.

Hey Shaun!!!!! Glad your going to be on thsi crusie to.

Lissa (now we have 21 long moths to wait)

Hey Cindy,

You can add DisneyRN1 to the list as well. she and her DH are away this week but they are this ruise in cabin 7066 next door to us.:thumbsup2

Ok, I've got everyone added up to this point to the first post (this is a marker for me to know where I'm up to). We'll be offline for a few days but I'll catch up when we return.

I thought I could start a spreadsheet to have for our planning purposes as the months go by. I would love to put it somewhere that everyone could just add their own info for things like DIS Names, Cabin numbers, Dining (main or late), Names / adults / children, where we're from, etc. - and then have space to indicate if they are participating in various DIS-things we might arrange (like fish extenders, etc.) Does anyone know of where we might be able to set up something like that?

here is link to start thinking about the visa for Russia

have not read the site yet....
http://www.visatorussia.com/

here's the official site

http://www.russianembassy.org/CONSULAT/TOUR-VIS.HTM

look at this
For single entry visas are:
$131 for 6-10 business days processing;
$150 for 3-5 business days processing;
$200 for next business day processing or two business days processing;
$300 for same day processing;
OH MY:scared1:
in reading the website for the first link...it looks to be cheaper? Looks like $30...
Ok, I called the second link...they process, for $30, an invitation so you can apply for the visa...then you have to pay the consulat their fees and you have to do it in person....
I will do more research and let everyone know. I'm sure Disney will send us information in the next year!

Okay your post got me curious so, I went to other boards to see what is up with St. Petersburg and this is what I've discovered.

When going to St. Petersburg you have to either go with a ship's tour, book a tour on your own with a gov't recognized tour company or obtain Visa's on your own and figure out a legal way to go the 2 miles to the port entrance and tour the city on your own. The latter option is not advisable

Almost sounds like the tour operators or Disney gets the Visa for you. So, it might be one of those ports that you don't tour on your own. I'm not sure how reliable this info is as I was just surfing the net...

We are in cabin 2556

The lady when I booked this morning at DVC said we needed one but we have time. The place I called charged $30 just to get you an invitation to get a visa which is $130...what a scam..and you have to show up in person at the Russian consulate...ours would be San Francisco...110 miles each way, plus a day off work....
So if what you found out is correct, which I hope it is, I'll book a tour with Disney!!!

I also read that when you book a tour the tour operator gets the Visa for you.

Okay... here is something I found on a Russian Tour site about Visas... Can you tell I'm bored tonight LOL... I'm planning for a cruise that is a year and 8 months away... YIKES..

NO VISA REQUIRED FOR THE SHORE EXCURSIONS (we'll issue blanket visas for You).
YOUR GUIDE AND YOUR DRIVER WILL MEET YOU RIGHT NEXT TO THE SHIP (we'll provide special pass to enter the Commercial Harbor of the St. Petersburg Trade Port).

Here's the website address: http://www.anastasiaworld.com/enghtml/shore_main.html

my cousin who is on the 6/24 northern called me this morning to tell me that you won't need a visa if you do the Disney shore excursions. if you go another avenue you would need one. i am hearing that it is not recommended to go another avenue. will probably stick with Disney on this one.
