I have been trying to figure out if the Dream is on an extended cruise or in dry dock? It has not checked in online (to a cruise ship tracking site) since June 2. Anyone know?

I bought a new rolling duffle bag to bring along a few drinks on board (sodas, water and a few "others"). Yes, I know we have free sodas up on deck, but I like to have a nice cold Mtn. Dew in lieu of coffee first thing in the morning! We are getting so excited and have so much to do...it is finally approaching fast!♥sassy♥tink♥;41436824 said:Bought some new luggage... guess I'll take a cruise in 24 days!!![]()
Just saw targetted launch for the shuttle on the 10th!!!

If there is a launch on the 10th, it would be nice to have it really early so we could watch it form the ship, so I am not torn between stopping to see the launch or going to get my dog from the kennel. We do have a long drive to our hotel rest in Nashville that night, so it would be best for us to get on the road and not watch the launch. Oh well, no sense wondering about it yet!
Luvavacation -- Thanks for asking about Dad! He is doing well He is eating and moving more each day. He even has been up and down the stairs in my house (he needs his computer fix!Dylcal, how is your Dad's recovery? Everything going well, letting you concentrate on the upcoming cruise and not worry too much? I hope so!
I was so worried she left the mall and I was going to be on the news for neglect of an elderly mother! But what really bothered me was acting like the parent to my mom, and I really dislike having this role. I hate telling her what she is and is not allowed to do, but I have to keep her safe. Once she has her surgery, and then is off to rehab, I won't have to watch over her for a few weeks, and I am so looking forward to that. I will still visit her every day, that is just what is expected in my family, but her moment-to-moment care is out of my hands. Oh I am so looking forward to caring for only my children and husband again!![]()
). He finds out on the 23rd whether he can go home! He so wants to do that.
. I didn't know that I would turn into him when I got older! He probably wishes now he had been nicer!
Just cancelled Country Inn & Suites & booked the Poly for the 3rd & 4th.
Must be some kind of sickness - but we should have a good view of the fireworks.
We will be at the Poly as well on the 3rd and 4th so we will probably see you on the Beach for the fireworks! Can't wait!
Back when I was planning what to do before our cruise, I did do some research as to what was available near the port for 4th of July, and found a website for Cocoa Beach that had lots of information with things to do on 4th of July.
Here is the website address - http://www.cityofcocoabeach.com/FlashHomePages/visitors_home.html
From this page, go to Visitors, then on the left go to Attractions, then in the middle scroll down to Brevard Cultural Activities, then click Calendar in the purple heading.
I hope this helps!
We are staying at the port as well and I sent a message to Shirley (the gift basket lady) asking her - she suggested contacting the hotel manager where we were staying. I did that - we are staying at CI & S - but was only told that there would be a lot of activities, etc. - nothing def. about the fireworks. If someone is staying somewhere else, maybe you can contact your hotel manager and see if you get any results. If you do, please share with the rest of us!!!
Thanks for this information. Is anyone staying at the Radison at the Port?
I'm not sure how to get from the hotel to the attractions. Any suggestions?
I've been quiet most of the planning, but love reading what everyone says.
Thanks for all the great tips.
Now I'm really getting excited!
