July 5th - as bad as July 4th?

What I am most concerned about is whether the parks will close to capacity on the 5th, like they almost certainly will on the 4th. I am avoiding the parks on Independence Day (probably will just swim and read all day) but intend to go to MGM on the Monday.

I am going to start very early, stop at noon and then return early evening. Good plan to have a good day?

I haven't been there on a July 5 but I will give you a wild guess as to crowdedness.

If July 5 is a Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or Monday, it will be crowded. If it is a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, it won't be so crowded.

This is our third time visiting for the 4th of July. We really didn't think it was all that bad the first two times - and so we're returning this year!!! We'll be at Epcot on July 4th, and then we're doing Typhoon Lagoon for July 5th!

Sounds like you have a great plan - use your fast passes and you should be fine!! Enjoy!! Hope to see ya there!!

July 5th is a Monday this year. The good news is that will be when a LOT of the holiday tourists will be leaving, but the bad news is it will be a holiday for locals. I imagine that MGM will probably be okay. I'd stay away from MK for sure. You might take boat from MGM to Epcot if MGM gets too crowded later in the day.

We will be at Blizzard Beach on July 5th. I hope it won't be too crowded; it will be more first visit to BB.

We 'hoped' that maybe the waterparks wouldn't be quite as crowded as the regular parks, but who knows! If it is too bad, we will only stay a few hours. If it isn't bad, we will settle in for the day.

We're going to Blizzard Beach that day as well... DH is a bit worried about the crowds, but I think we will manage.

If it's a hot day -- or forecast to be hot and sunny -- get to the park early, because it will close at capacity. If it's overcast or there are rain chances, you'll have a bit better luck. But with July 5 as a holiday this year, expect the water parks to be packed. Sorry!

Actually ... Sea World on July 5 will be filled with all of the people who thought WDW would be too crowded! It's also the opening weekend of their new "Mistify" nighttime spectacular, so it will be crowded later than normal as well.

Last year, Sea World closed at capacity that weekend too.

Get there early ....

We are there every year through around the 10th of July, and I can tell you that the week before the 4th is a lot more crowded than the week after. I would expect a lot of people leaving on the 5th to go home, so later in the day and the next days following won't be too bad. We ususally park hop when one park gets too crowded, then head back to the hotel for a swim when we have had enough. Use those fastpasses(get them early in the day for the most popular rides!), and remember that you are at Disney, so life is good!

We're going the 1st through the 8th, so I was expecting crowds the whole time. I figure it's better to be pleasantly surprised if there are fewer people than to be shocked when it's packed.
