We already have reservations for OKW arriving on July 6th. We are thinking about making our trip a little earlier and be there July 4th. I have heard that the crowds can be horrible the 4th.

My questions are:

1. Is it worth it? Are the crowds unbearable?
2. Are there special fireworks? If there is special fireworks, which park, MK?
3. Can the fireworks be viewed somewhere else besides the parks. My sister is staying in Fort Wilderness Campground.

Thanks, Beth

we did it this past year and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Crowds: we were in Epcot and MGM - they were not too bad considering the time of the year.

Fireworks: Yes in MK, Epcot and MGM - all have special shows. We chose Epcot and saw MK's as well in the distance. EPCOT added an amazing finale to the regular Illuminations show.

You can catch Mk's from Poly. Epcot's from the Y&B/Boardwalk area.

I have been in WDW several times for July 4th since my bday is July 2 and I love being there for my bday. Crowds in MK are intense but I have been quite suprised at not having to wait too long for rides as well. This was before fastpass mind you but I distinctly remember waiting about a half hour for Splash Mt. The fireworks are amazing. The fireworks are always good but they even better on the 4th. If you have the time I would highly recommend going for the 4th. I wish I could go back then this year but alas, I will be studying for the bar.
