Do you have to be in the park to see these fireworks? If you do what are some good viewing areas for these?
Where can you see them if you're not in MGM?

It was my first time last year there. We staked out a place by the hat. As it got closer to the time, people just sat down anywhere in that area. I would strongly advise if you go there make sure you "sprawl out" because late comers arrive and you end up being squished (they just push you over without saying a word). Anyway, the fireworks are beautiful. My ds really enjoyed them. The fireworks are set off behind the muppets area (way in the back) so you can get an idea where to look.

Yes, you can see it from outside the park but it was nice to be in the park with the movie music going along with fireworks last year.

We did most of the day at Epcot and went to MGM for Sorcery in the Sky and it was busy when we got there so we just grabbed a spot to sit and take it easy. The closer it got to the time for fireworks the more packed it got but it was a lot of fun.

Hi,

Has Sorcery in the sky been announced
for this July 4th? I looked on the WDW
website and it was not listed for the 4th.
Thanks.

We stood right at the beginning of the main street just inside the entrance. It was a great view! The fireworks were awesome! Then we *walked quickly* to EPCOT to see Illuminations. Of course we didn't have a front row view - it was packed - but it was awesome too! I'm glad we saw them both, because they were both so good.

praise2him, what was the time difference between MGM and Epcot. I made PS for Rose and Crown on the 4th but I am very unsure what to do. I really wanted to go the MK but the board keeps talking about it being way to crowded.
I'm so confused:jumping1:

We had also heard about the MK being crowded, so that's why we avoided it. Sorcery in the Sky started at 9:00 pm and Illuminations at 10:00. We made it with a few minutes to spare.
Afterwards we drove over to the MK just to say we'd been there on July 4th. There were tons of people coming out - the lines for the monorail were insane. Hardly anyone was going in, though! LOL Of course, the fireworks and parade were over, but we just rode a few rides and enjoyed the atmosphere. On the tram out to our car at closing time the driver said that the MK had closed for a few hours that day (I think he said about 1:00 and reopened at 4:00?) I'm not exactly sure of the times.
