July 4th Cruise Docs!

Yeah, oly 1 week left. I keep telling my daughter, Katie (5) how many days. I think I am ALOT more excited than she is.
I have all our "extras" packed but can't pack our clothes until I find out if I am going to have to take my 2 yr old to Springfield IL for her monthly IVIG treatment. We see a new Dr. today & hopefully can get it done here tomorrow. Otherwise we get to take a very boring 4 hour trip to the hospital at Southern Illiniois University. What fun! I made sure we arre stocked up on all her Meds & syringes etc. One less thing to worry about while we are gone. It is all working out really well. Madalin's (2yr) Speach therapy, developmental therapy & physical therapy have all been cancelled for next week. The therapists are all on vacation. One is going to Disney! That will give me alot more time to get ready. Hopefully I won't be too exhausted by the time we get on the ship this way. Otherwise, I will be the one with the bags under my eyes, walking around delerious! I am just glad we have been able to hold off starting her on chemo again until after we get back.
If Katie is too busy on the ship to play with me, I will be the one lying by the pool with a mamosa in my hand. If I fall asleep, someone please roll me over so I don't fry! ( I'm not kidding, I will proboly be the one sleeping by the pool!)
Oh, how loud are the pagers? anyonre know if they will wake an overworked mom?

At the risk of repeating myself....I just saw the Wonder go by on twopalms again. Can you believe that will be us one week from right now!!!!!!!!
OMG, I am so going batty!!! This is such a big trip for us since its the first trip since our honeymoon 7 years ago that we have taken without kids along. Plus with the year and a half of planning, Ive really worked myself up over this. This week is going to fly and before we know it, we will be right there at the sailaway party. The weather looked nice out there today. Lets hope its the same next week.

kinda hard to believe that's for sure...
i've been planning this trip for a year....since we got back from the last one...and now, here it is...
we leave on sunday....
i bought 2 new suitcases today for all of our clothes, and all of our huge collapsible duffels can be squished into each other....all together that will make 8.....but really only 3 going to the states....8 coming back....if we need them....
i still haven't packed but i'm starting to organize the things that will be packed....
i completely forgot how much room my family's shoes take up.....
remember my mention of an odd sized family....well geez....those feet of theirs.....
we're all wearing sandals on the plane and i'm only packing one pair of sports shoes and one pair of water sandals each....that's it....nothing else (translation - no dress shoes - the sandals will have to suffice)....and it practically fills a suitcase...
picture shoes that are mens size 14...mens size 12....women's size 11....i mean really......those aren't shoes...those are banana boats...
Scott, i can never remember the conversion to UK sizes but if you know european that would be sizes 49, 46 and 42 (my daughter's the last one).....
now you can understand why i feel like a lilliputian living in the land of the gullivers...i wonder if they'll even fit on the boat....
anyway...tomorrow will be dedicated to packing in earnest....wherever earnest is....

oh....my neighbors who are moving back to the states were packed by the movers today....that was entertaining.....a full container load of stuff was packed and stuffed into the container....and i think i have a lot of work....if they could pack and load an entire household full of stuff in one day, surely i can manage a few measly suitcases....

Thats the packing finished, cruise docs filled out, and we are in full blown holiday mood. Come on Wednesday for the flight.

In the book with all the tickets are the cruise docs right?
I looked at them but haven't had time to fill those out. I guess I need to do that huh? Those are for when we get on the ship right? I will get it done incase I have any ??????
I spent fri. in the hospital with my little one and didn't feel well yesterday so now I feel like it is sneaking up on me. Ahhhhh! I need more time. Main priority the next couple days I guess!

Oh boy!!!!! Its getting very very close now!
My docs are filled out(I did them the day I got them...not too excited, huh?). DH still has to do his. Knowing him, hell do them on the plane!
Well, DH had his last day of work today. Im such a loser! I taped a picture of some tropical drinks with umbrellas in them to the door for him to see when he came in. He just rolls his eyes at me.
My suitcase is half packed, I just need to finish ironing the wrinkly stuff and put those in tomorrow. I have a list of a million things to do tomorrow(go tanning, do laundry, pack stuff for the kids, take FIL to hospital for tests, paint nails, clean house etc...) so I know its going to fly by. Before you know it, Wed will be here, and we will be on our way.
Disneyholic family must be having fun in WDW by now. Lucky them!
Well, since DH did get out of work early, I guess I should go get something worthwhile done. Then again, talkingto you guys is worthwhile afterall.
Just think...72 hours and we will be at the sail away party! See you soon!!!

I might actually be ready on time! I have been preparing for weeks but it always seems at the end I have too many things to do. I am starting to get nervous again. I was feeling better, more prepared & now everything is going to fall apart. Going to the Tast of Chicago tonight so I have to get as much done as possible today. I am just glad all of our therapies were cancelled. This has been the busiest summer ever. July is already booked.

Took the girls shoe shopping yesterday, that was a big one....they grow like little weeds! My DD5 got 2 new swim suits at the Disney store. They were 1/2 off, couldn't resist that. She has a ton of them but wears them all the time & my 2 yr old wears the same size so we get alot of use out of them.

Oh by the way Scott, no thank you but nothing serious at the hospital, just a monthly treatment. I was able to have it done locally this time instead of driving 4 hrs to see her neurologist so it was a good thing. Thanks for asking though.

Oh, was I suppose to sign th Bahams form for my daughter? I left it blank. I hope I did it all right!

Only 1 more full night of sleep! We will have to get up at like 2:30a.m. for the flight. It leaves Chicago at 7:08 a.m.
Hope we aren't tired when we get there!
Oh my DD5 will have a red t-shirt with Mickey ears that look like the American flag it says July 4, 2002 It is just the 2 of us so we should be easy to recognize. We will be the ones looking lost!

Opsomyo, you have me cracking up! I bought one of those shirts in white for me and a grey one for DH. I thought boarding the ship in those shirts would be a great photo op. DH rolled his eyes at me (again) saying "Do you know how many people are going to be wearing these shirts?". I guess we aready found one!
We will be up with you bright and early. How long is your flight? We should be arriving at Orlando around 10:00 am tomorrow(OMG, under 24 hours!!!). We had FIL scheduled to drive us right to the airport but hes not feeling well so now we have to go earlier and take a bus in.
I think you do sign that form for minors. I think I remember doing it when we sailed with the kids before.

OMG, my heart will not stop racing! I cant believe its officially here. Well, back to ironing!

We just dropped off the kids!!!! Vacation has begun! Im ready to explode.
Just have to do last minute packing, pick up the house and try to get a few hours of sleep. So far our flight is on schedule. Lets hope that stays.

Uh oh I am not ready. I have laundry & ironing to do plus I need to go to the bank. I guess I am going to get some travelers checks although I plan on using my credit card for most things, I can't decide how much cash I need.

Camcolt, you are proboly right, Everybody will have on thoses shirts! I didn't get one for me but I want to save hers. I think it is really cool because it has the date of the cruise on it. I don't know how many vacations we will get to take like this. It was a cool momento!
I have to get my Laundry done & finish packing! ahhhhhhhh!

We get in at 10:46 I think. The flight is 2 hrs or so I think. First Plan trip! Hope we aren't scared.
Well, the laundry is calling me!

Hey Jen & Scott, I never found you guys! Hope your trip was as Wonderful as it was for the rest of us.
Jen, I think I may have seen you and your daughter at the sailaway party but I wasnt sure if it was you since so many people did have those shirts on. Were you wearing a light blue tank top and was your daughter on your shoulders? If that was you, I was right behind you. I even have you guys on videotape.

too cool, you should have said something.....it was us. I am paying today , proboly not from her just the luggage but my shoulder is killing me!
I wish we would have had a chance to talk, all of us. We hung out at the Mickey pool most of the time. The first night I didn't fell well at all, exhaustion I think. I did try to look for everyone though. I am sending the girls to kmy mom's for a few hours tonight. They arcrabby & so am I. Katie had a great time but for me it was kinda high stress
I will write a trip report when I have time and hope to read all of yours!

That is so funny that it was you! I was directly behind you for a while. It wasnt until you put your DD down when I saw the front of the shirt and it clicked that it could have been you. But then did she get to go up on stage or something? All of a sudden I didnt see her with you anymore so I wasnt sure if she went off with someone else, in which case, I thought maybe it wasnt you, because I knew you 2 were alone.
As I sit here transfering my video onto a tape, I just noticed that I also have footage of you in the terminal. I never noticed you guys then. Too funny!
Glad you had a good time, now enjoy your vacation to recover from your vacation. I have to admit, as much as I missed the kids, coming home to them, while having all the unpacking and laundry to do was tough. I could have used another day without them.

Yeah, she was having a hard time seeing' so a counselor took her up close. It was funny becaused i moved so she could see me & she was looking for me, standing up almost on the steps RIGHT infront. She wasn't paying attention to the show at all just like "where's Mom" She was my shadow the rest of the trip. It was great though. Sorry I missed you.

What a great trip!!!!!

Next time I will definently go for 7 nights, I met disneyholic at the family duelling pianos one night. Also saw them the following week outside Cirque de soleil in downtown disney.

Camcolt I may have seen you at the terminal, not sure, but it was a couple no kids and wearing the t-shirts. I was a bit embarrassed to ask at the time.

LOL, Scott! I was going to say "Oh, you should have said something", but then I realized I did the same sort of thing to opsomyo, because I wasnt sure about her either.
I posted one of our cruise pictures on the "Show Your Face Thread" on the top of the Community Board. I think the picture is on the second to last page right now. You can check it out to see if it was us you saw. I also posted a picture of me, Disneyholicfamily and Barb & Tony on this board, but Im not sure where that is right now.

Glad you had a great time. We will have have to do this again.

well we've made it to detroit...
one week here then 2 days in the big apple, then finally back home...
we're pretty traveled out at this point, but offer us a cruise and we'll be there in a flash....

Scott, it's funny about dueling pianos, because at the time i told you it was because i noticed your son's name...
but the truth is we were sitting right behind you (we were at the counter behind the tables) and i noticed you, your wife and son...
he was the right age and you look soooooooooooo scottish....
so i started straining to try to hear you speaking to see if you had an accent....but couldn't over all the noise (by the way, you and your son were totally adorable together)....then finally i noticed your son's nametag so i was about 99% sure at that point.....i asked my daughter if i should say something.....she said no, but i did anyway....

as for downtown disney....if it was on sunday the 14th, it was when we went to see cirque de soleil (for the second time...we saw them last year and loved it......in fact we just saw the two other shows they have in las vegas.....)....

if it wasn't on the 14th, then we were probably headed to disneyquest....
