July 4th anyone????

We will be staying at Kidani from June 28 until July 6th. This is our first July 4th trip. We know it will be busy and hot (not really a big deal, we are usually there the end of July/first of August so nothing new there) but we will be spending less time in the parks this trip and more at the pool and onsite enjoying the new amenities and activities.

Anyone else going to be at Disney with us?

I will try to keep a running list below as I see new posts and get the chance to update. If I missed anyone, or I have your information wrong, let me know.

We will! Originally, we were going 6/20-7/4, but had to move it since our kids had too many snow days from school. So, now we're doing a week off-site in Windsor Hill, then on 7/4 we're moving to OKW. Never done WH, never done OKW, never done 7/4--it's all new to us! But I tell you, it gets trickier as the kids get older.

I have no idea what we'll be doing that day. Maybe going to bed early to hit a park at rope drop the next day. I figure the parks will be packed, why not take it easy, settle in, and we'll probably have a park to ourselves on Sunday.

We are staying at SSR from July 1-5, then we are moving to Kidani from 5-11...This will be our first July 4th experience...

We plan to go to the fireworks display on July 3rd at MK...On July 4 we are planning a pool day, then going over to DHS for diner and fireworks...We may actually have time to get back to SSR for the DTD fireworks display...We will have to see...But that is the plan for now.

we went last year for the first time in all of our 30 years going!! Went to the Poly, sat on the beach for the fireworks, it was awesome. Get there early though, it gets crowded. But soooo worth it! My 22 year old DD couldn't stop thanking us for finally doing that holiday at Disney!

We will be at BWV from July 1-5 and then our friends join us from their DCL and we move to a 2br at BWV July 5-10. We were there last year for July 4th. We stayed at WLV and hung around the resort and enjoyed all the activities and games they had going on and then headed to Epcot later in the day, watched fireworks from SE, bolted to the car as soon as they were done and were back to WLV in 13 minutes!

Yes! we will see you by the pool June 25th to july 7th same place!!! It is also our 1st official trip home! We always do July 4th it's alot more fun than some make it out to be. Yes it is crowded but it's a blast. The fireworks spoil you for any others you will see thereafter!!! only 114 days to go

We'll be at Kidani June 28th-July 5th also. We'll be at BCV the week before so we plan on doing the 2 resorts the first week that are within walking distance and enjoying SAB, then MK and AK for the 2nd week while enjoying the AKV pool. See you at the pool!

Not this year but we were there last year. Had a great time even though it was crowded. Used Fast Passes and got to the parks early so we were able to do what we wanted. Also spent a lot of downtime away from the parks. Our big question was where to watch the 7/4 fireworks. The MK fireworks were supposed to be amazing but we chose DHS because fireworks there are rare. Found out after the fact that the MK show also went on 7/3. Me bad. Here is a pic of the hat that night.

We stayed at POFQ and the busses leaving took forever. We had a CM come by to tell us they were having trouble getting into the park because of traffic. When our bus finally came, the parking lot was jammed with people exiting. Oh well, that just meant we went to bed a little later than anticipated. Would have liked to be staying at home (BWV) so we could have just walked back.

Not this year, but I'm making plans for next year! I hope you have a great time. We went to WDW this past NYE, and DH and I have decided that whenever we can be there for Disney's special fireworks, we want to do our best to get there!!!!

I do agree with PP, MK on the day before the big one, and Epcot for the 4th, and a walk back to BWV or BCV if that's at all possible.

We are planning to be there for the 4th. But we haven't made any reservations yet, waiting for DH to confirm his schedule. So I don't know what the dates are around the 4th. We usually stay at SSR, so that will be the plan again.

I wonder if they will still have DTD fireworks with PI gone?

We've already corresponded on TGM, Marv, but I'll post it here too. We'll be at POR for a day on 6/27, then move to Kidani from 6/28 to 7/5. Absolutely can't wait!

What did you think of the DHS display?

It is a rare thing to see so that was cool. The music they played were commercial songs (I think Aerosmith was one). It was a bit on the short side. Is it wishes or illuminations? No. But because it was rare, it was a thing to do.

I was wondering about DTD as well--with PI gone, I don't know that they'd have fireworks. If they do, that's where we would be heading.

we will be there july 2-5 Concierge AKV and then july 5-11 at Kidani!! DTD for the 4th. the fireworks there are actually pretty cool. I was not there last year for the 4th, so I hope they are going to be doing them this year at DTD. They did have them in 2007 and the past years. Does anyone know??

We were at BCV last year's July 4th, and our kids had a blast at the Boardwalk's outdoor dance party, with DJ and hula hoops in that nice grass square by the Flying Fish. It was a nice alternative to a crowded park!

I was at Disney over the 4th two years ago. I was staying at the Buena Vista Palace (convention) before going to OKW for a week. Go up to the bar on the top floor of the Buena Vista Palace and watch all the fireworks from all the parks. It's absolutely spectacular!!

just so i've got this straight for planning...

the epcot 'special' FW r only on the 4th...not 2 days (3rd & 4th) as MK?
believe i'll try to WL for BW or BC
