July 4 2009....Who'se going?

Hey all,

Wanted to share a bit of information with you. A while back I was looking for Fish Extenders which I found on EBay, and at the same time, I found some embroidered pillowcases for character signatures once on board. I read here on the DIS boards that if you give the pillowcases and some colored sharpies to Guest Services at the beginning of the cruise, they will have all the characters sign them and return them to you completed! Saves time for you having to chase all the characters down and your child has an adorable keepsake from the cruise. Mine are being delivered this week and I can't wait to see them!

If you want to look them up on EBay, the user name is Gradysmommy and she still has auctions for the pillowcases. She also does FE's and I'm pretty sure there is time left but you might want to check, she's busy!

We did this with a photomat on our first cruise. Turned out really nice. I've seen some of the pillowcases and they are nice. My kids are past that stage unfortunately.

Hi Smee,

I see we both have 13 year old girls. Maybe they will make friends and hang out together. That age is hard to please sometimes! It's so good to see kids of all ages in our little group!

May be a little late for this one, but I came across the suggestion the last week or so in another thread....

Has anyone here thought about linking ressies together for dining rotations? It might be nice to have dinner together with other DIS families.

Thoughts?

Thanks, Khazid. We'll pass this time. After the mess of trying to do this with the EB Repo. We're in early dining and have asked DCL to seat us with another family, so we can share our day with someone other than the four of us. We'll see if it actually happens.

We leave 4 weeks today :banana:, not that anyone around here is counting. :goodvibes

Hi,

I spoke to Erica and she would love to meet up with your daughter. Are you coming to the Dis meet on the first day? Or maybe we can meet up in the terminal? We're staying at Country Inn and Suites the night before.

Weeks? :rotfl: 24 days :yay::yay:until the DW and I depart for Orlando. :lmao::lmao:

I stopped counting weeks about 2 weeks ago...so nope, I'm not counting :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Okay. :goodvibes 29 days 2 hours and 39 minutes until we leave for the ferry. DH wrote a countdown clock program complete with pics to countdown the REPO last year. He edited the program, so it would work for this trip too. Way cool.

We're still dealing school etc. - so haven't offically moved to days mode yet - that would make me start to panic.

Nice, sounds like your DH and I would get along quite well :thumbsup2:cool1:

We are in the final days of school countdown here as well. Only 2 days of finals left for my oldest two DSs, as well as 2 days of work left for me (I'm a teacher). My youngest DS is in "year round" school, so he doesn't finish until Jun 26th. So our next few weeks are full of end of year swim parties - 1 at our house, and 2 at other homes this Sat. as well as a HS group camping/boating trip next week. We just finished 24 hours of "Relay for Life" which is an American Cancer Society fundraiser. My grandmother is coming to live with us for a couple weeks before the cruise , DH is going to China for 2 weeks for work :scared:, and I have about 4 shifts to work in our firework booth. :3dglasses At the end of all this I am REALLY going to enjoy the relaxation of the cruise!:cheer2::banana:

first- I'm sorry for being MIA. We just bought a new house and moved the last of the stuff last Sun. I'm glad that is done, now we just need to unpack, take down wallpaper, paint, etc.

So- It's now time to focus on the cruise! clothes, excursions, etc.:yay:

My DD(61/2) is getting very excited about going to the kids club- or clubhouse- as she calls it. She had a great time on the wonder and I'm sure will have a blast.

We'll be at the Hyatt the night before if anyone else is

Well met, and my DW will tell you that sometimes those last minute planning sessions are better than the long thought out ones. I disagree, but well...that's just me :lmao:

There is a DIS Meet planned for 3pm on embarkation day in the Promenade Lounge. I believe StewieL is organizing that one.
We also have an FE exchange, but sadly registration for that closed already :(

Welcome Cindy and other crazy Louisianians!! . . . you will be in good "Louisiana" company here. We're from Mandeville (Me, DH, DS12, DD8) and Meemous used to live in Mandeville and is moving back in August. :cool1:

We look forward to meeting you, as well!!:woohoo:

BTW -- I saw Wendy from Canada received her cruise docs. Has anyone else received theirs, because we have not yet? :confused3

I thought they were kind of early as the June 20th cruise had also received theirs last week. I did comment to the CM that we didn't get our docs in time one round as we leave early to spend a bit of time in Florida first. So, maybe they were being nice and sending them early - they came by Fedex. This is the first time, I've handle things without using a TA, so didn't want to not have them.

Hey July 4th Cruisers.!

Myself, my GF and another married couple all in our mid to late 20s are cruising together. We booked this last minute and have only done the Wonder before....the other couple will be having their first cruise.

Is there anyone out there who will be doing the Kayak Eco tour at either Thomas or John and/or the Zipline adventure in St. Martin.

I know that Disney offers the Kayak Eco tour on St Thomas, but thought it would be great to do that over at St John and see more untouched beauty ....we're up for anything but shopping....we can shop anywhere.

So...please feel free to open up thoughts and conversation on adventerous excursions :)

My TA called me today and the docs are waiting for me at her office, so ours have arrived.
