July 30, 2010 Mickey's Adventures England to Espana Cruise

I've used it exactly like that in the past Jude so I can't see why it wouldn't work again. Bloomin hope so anyway as that's what's coming with me!
Just buy a real cheap one and leave it there. :)

Hey thats a fab tip - I thought I was being smart and had bought a "double" american adapter - plugs into one outlet but provides 2 new sockets - think I'll ditch that and bring a trailing lead - wherever I can get one cheap and like you say, leave it there! Ive already bought stuff in the pound shop to leave behind - torch, over door hook for extra space, multi pocket hanger (not from the pound shop but cheap on ebay) travel sewing kit, etc etc! Will have to leave a note for the housekeeper when I leave their tip to say I have left all the stuff on purpose incase they wonder if I have forgotten it all!!

Can't wait!!!

Have a safe Trip and see you on board! Can't believe it will be in three weeks! Have to start packing!

Just found out that they will start my kitchen on Monday!:scared1: I thought that when I started this it would not happen until after the cruise but I lucked into the fact that they were able to get the cabinents, floor, and granite right away!!! So this weekend when I had planned to do a lot of packing I will be emptying out my kitchen!! Oh well but the time it is done I will be leaving for the cruise so I have something to look foward to when I return. Of course lets see how I feel next week when I am completely stressed out!!

International calling cards.

I assume that it will be easy to buy a calling card that will allow me to call to Canada, what type of store would I find them in?

I can't find any here that allow calls that originate in Europe, so I will have to pick one up once I arrive (17 more sleeps but who is counting:lmao:)

With such a huge international population along with masses of tourists I would think you would have no trouble finding one when you arrive in London - also you will have the bonus of no language barrier to overcome so you can ask which one will allow calls to Canada and whether you can use it in continental Europe too.

Have a lovely day - is it this wedding you are wearing the fab hot pink outfit for?

Hope the rain eases off a bit so the Bride doesn't get wet!

:surfweb:Hi Mel.
Shall we both try to book something as soon as we board the Magic?
Any time is good for me,how about you, believe we will need to swap cabin numbers. If either of us is lucky we can put a note under the others door, unless you think of something else.
Not long now, looking forward to meeting you.
Is everyone packed ?:scared1:

:surfweb: Hola from a very, very hot sunny Spain.
Thought Id mention a couple of things with regard to Gibraltar.
For those that find it hard to go a few days without a newspaper, can buy them all at a reasonable price in Main Street, along with alcoholic supplies,(there is a REALLY good off license at the bottom off the square).Free wi fi .
Most medical supplies can be purchased, many without prescription.
Morrisons is within easy walking distance, with good prices etc.
Really simple place to tour by yourself,
See you soon,
sue

Can anyone recommend a good taxi/minibus transfer company from Heathrow to London?-Park Plaza Hotel

I'm looking to pre-book the transportation and there are so many to choose from online. I'm looking for something reliable and easy to use.

There are 4 of us and a bunch of luggage. We are staying a few days in London beforehand are looking for the tourist things to do. 1st time to London so I'm looking for all the info I can get.

Thanks! The kids can't wait to get on the ship!

Sorry I can't be any help with the transfer - you may wonder why I am writing then,,,,,,

My girls and I will be with you on the Magic, after your sightseeing in London! I write because I have a 10 year old daughter too and she is soo excited about meeting girls her age from all over the world, so far there are Scottish girls, English, Canadian and American - she is nearly beside herself at meeting "real live" Americans - she's to total Disney Channel fan !!

Hope you get the info you need - we live about 10 miles from Belfast in Northern Ireland hence no knowledge of transfers from Heathrow. I do know there is the Heathrow Express - the underground/subway that takes you straight from Heathrow to Paddington Station (I think) Someone else can confirm - its quick and direct - something like 5 mins but no idea where your hotel is from there sorry.

Happy planning - see you in less than three weeks!

Welcome

From my research on tridadvisor I booked http://www.simplyairports.co.uk/

It is 30 pounds Heathrow to Park Plaza Victoria Station, but we are only 3 so not sure if it would be more for 4.

The main negative I read on tripadvisor was not getting written confirmation but I got an email confirmation so I think I should have no problems, if not we are on the tube.

We only have the afternoon we arrive so not planning much, we are doing the Mews at Buckingham Palace and then hopefully we will walk around the area and do some shopping.

Are you staying at the Park Plaza Victoria? We are as well (me, wife, 14 y/o son), from the 28th to 30th. I was looking into this as well. I know there are taxis, but would prefer pre-booked so we don have to deal with trying to get a taxi after our long flight from the US.

As far as tourist things to do I am looking into this. Free tour, students work on tips http://www.newlondon-tours.com/

Been shopping today and bought a few more bits for the Fish Extender gifts. Must crack on with the homemade parts though!

We are staying at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge a few days before the cruise. Just dragged out the suitcases today to get started!

I have a 2 vouchers going spare for anyone staying over in London .. It's 1 free entry with 1 full paying adult to any of the following attractions:

Legoland Windsor
The Dungeons
Madame Tussauds

If anyone would like 1 or both of them, please PM me your address and I'll get them sent very quickly. Alternatively, I can post to your London hotel.

Personally, I'd rather go to London Dungeons than Madame Tussauds, although MT is fantastic, there's only so many times you can say 'wow, doesn't that look exactly like who it's supposed to be'! The Dungeons has a bit more fun to it but please be careful with children as it may not be entirely suitable for them.

Anyone else got vouchers we could share with our fellow cruisers?
